I have been here many times, because at any time you can count on a hot meal, even at non peak hours. So many other places will serve things Luke warm, on occasion. That does not happen here. Sometimes we don't have time to go to a sit down restaurant and take 2 hours getting food. This place is great for a quick bite or you can take your time eating. They have the food out fast and always deliver a good product. You don't see many around this area but I have been coming here for years now. Small place, small parking lot but the food has a lot of flavor. They keep the restaurant clean, even after all the high school students have passed by here on their lunch hour. Sweet tea is always on point and their rolls are to die for. Not many places have this weird but cool idea of making a buffalo chicken sandwich with 2 rolls smushed together, chicken strips and a piece of cheese- omg!!! Too good to pass on it specially if you like spicy stuff. They also have one without the buffalo sauce. That sandwich is one of the main reasons I come here. Their customer service is always good, well maybe 1 out of the 300 times I been here was lacking but over all, super good customer service. They have a cup you can pay for one time and you get free refills for the whole year. They also have a b-day program which allows you to get up to $7.50 to spend how ever you want to. *UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGER *UNTRAINED EMPLOYEES *NO CURBSIDE PICKUP AT ALL *INACCURACY OF ORDER *UNEXPECTED SCARY SITUATION I placed a CURBSIDE order online 8/21. There was NO curbside pickup when I got there. It was over a 20+ min wait. I ended up going inside to retrieve my order. I got home. AND 4 items were missing. Another trip back to GC to retrieve my items that I paid for. When I arrive, there is already a customer arguing with the employees and manager over the same issue as mine. When I tell the manager my same issue. It looks as if she is helping me. But, she tells me she is going to go look at the cameras bc that's a lot of items missing from my order. I wait another 20+ mins till she comes back out. The manager comes in and out and eventually asks me... numerous times to go with her to the back of the store to look at the footage. Bc it shows everything was bagged up correctly. I called bs on that. I'm not a confrontational person. Not once did I get hostile with this store or entertain the manager and employees of this BOGUS situation. The mood was already hostile before I arrived. She tried at one point to not give me my items. Which was handed to me in the end. This was the most UNNECESSARY DIFFICULT HOSTILE SKETCHY food order I have ever made! I will NOT be ordering from this place ever again! This manager needs help or additional training in order to DO BETTER. I wanna start this off by saying I've given this golden chick 4 different times to show me a decent customer experience and each time it has been worst then the previous time. Today there was only 2 cars in front of me so I didn't think it would be long of a wait, once we got to the speaker I was met with a passive aggressive lady letting me know she was very backed up on orders and it would take a while for her to be able to take mine I said it was no problem and that we would wait so me and my friend started being on our phones waiting and talking after 2 minutes the same lady came back on the speaker and started yelling at us saying she had already told us it would be a while this made me feel uncomfortable because while I understand they might be backed up it seems like she was taking her frustration out on us. After I told her we weren't talking to her and got ignored she finally took our order she was able to put my order down on paper perfectly but once I got home I realized my whole order was wrong I tried calling the place the first time someone picked up and slammed the phone back down it took about 3 times for someone to pick up the phone the lady on the phone was just as rude as the other lady she wasn't being clear on the information she was asking me and seemed annoyed that I didn't understand how her system works I simply just wanted a refund since we didn't get anything we paid for and I was denied the refund and told to just bring the food back. This is for the S Cooper, Arlington restaurant. We have not been to this location in a while. It had been our favorite stop after church. We were so pleased to find that excellent customer service continues to go along with the great food. Donstasia took her time and was patient in getting our order correctly. The manager Jakeitha Ephraim was busy doing a little bit of everything but took the time to acknowledge us. She remembered our family. She's doing a great job with training. They were all so friendly and provided excellent customer service. We observe them in the treatment of other customers and it was consistent. And yes the food was delicious, hot fresh and as ordered. I ordered food at the drive-thru today. When I was asked what drink I would like, I forgot they don't have Coke, and ordered Coke. The girl on the speaker laughed at me and sarcastically said, "We don't have Coke." I apologized and asked for Pepsi. I went on to order my next item. She interrupted and said, "I said we don't have Coke and you didn't answer me." I politely told her that I had ordered Pepsi after she told me that. I drove up to the window and she was still laughing at me and did not even greet me. I had to ask what my total was. I gave her my money and she did not respond. I asked for ketchup and honey and she handed me a handful instead of putting the in the bag when the food was ready. That's fine, but she still did not speak. She opened the window, handed me my food and slammed the window, still smirking and not speaking. I sat there and had her open the window to ask if I had all my food. I go every Sunday at 10:30 to get chicken for my elderly parents, and half the time they are not even open. Several times a young guy has come out and rudely told me they won't open until noon. Once I paid, I was told what I wanted was not available. When I asked for the refund this big hefty asshole of a worker rolled her eyes at me and closed the window abruptly. Hands down a 5 star place (and I've been pretty stingy with my 5 stars lol). I come here quite often and have never been disappointed. The chicken tenders are TO. DIE. FOR. The outside is crispy and the inside is always moist. I always get mine spicy but you can also get the spices on the side (or buy the little container for your work desk like I did too!) It comes with white gravy for dipping but I always get honey mustard instead. Their wicked wings are really good too (again, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside) but the only bad thing is that they cook to order so it could take about 10 minutes for it (that could also be a good thing.. it's fresh). Food is served with a yeast roll (everyone I know loves it) and I usually get fries or corn nuggets on the side (I'm not particularly a fan of their mashed potatoes). I've never had the actual fried chicken or fried fish that they also serve because the tenders are enough for me, no need to try anything else! This is a must-visit place if you've ever been a UTA student. (Which was many years ago for me) But nonetheless, the thought of this place still makes me drool like a fat boy over cake and brings back very fond college memories. I remember always coming here with my friends for a quick lunch between gaps in our schedule and having a great time with great (although quick) conversation. Everyone is nice and you'll see a variety of different people, including other businessmen, young high school kids walking over from Arlington High, and fellow UTA college students. The place is very simple and pretty small, just like any normal fast food joint, with a crane machine that was really fun to be play, and my friends would always give the prizes to the little kids that would look on with jealousy when we finally got one of the little chicken plushies. I've taste the fried chicken here and it's kind of greasy but what I love about this place is the chicken fingers with the spicy powder on top. The most tender and juicy chicken fingers I've ever tasted! Definitely try this place if you're in the neighborhood, heck, make a trip down here even if you're not, it's worth it! The one down side and the ONLY reason why I give this a 4-star resting is because parking is sooo limited! The food here is normally very good. I regularly have come here for a bit over a year. Today, I asked for honey mustard, which they gave, but for some reason withheld gravy. When I called to ask why that'd be the case I was told that you can get both, but you have to ask for it. I've been here a good amount of times, and I'll admit that it's pretty good. But compared to other chicken joints in the area, Golden Chick has really small tenders. This is okay for me, because I think the chicken here has more flavor and seasoning compared to Chicken Express. There's a fairly wide selection of sides here: corn nuggets, mac and cheese, fried okra, dirty rice, mashed potatoes, and fries. But I think my favorite side would be the fried okra. I usually get the #1 combo with the tenders, drink and side; it's enough to fill me up until my next main course. I've brought my boyfriend here a few times, and he likes the mac and cheese here. Whatever you choose on the menu, I'm sure it will satisfy your taste buds. For the customer service here, the employees are always nice. I've never had a bad experience when ordering or going through the drive-thru. There's an African American woman who works here (she might be the manager), but she always wears a purple lipstick and is extremely friendly and funny when taking your order. Also, if you order inside, I highly encourage you to fill out a short form on the counter and slip it in the box. Every year, Golden Chick will send you a postcard in the mail that gives you a free meal during your birthday month. I think that postcard encourages me to come here at least twice a year (once for my birthday and once for my boyfriend's). Their fried chicken is quite delicious, actually. It's like a slightly greasier, saltier version of Chicken Express if you've had that. Their fries have a light coating of batter on it, so its nice and crispy. The yeast roll is also a major draw for me. It's hot and billowing on the outside yet scrumptiously chewy when you bite into it. Its almost like biting into a bread based cotton candy. I must say this is one of the few chicken joint I've been to that's consistently served their product hot and fresh. Major points there. The other things I've tried were their cheese sticks and their jalapeno poppers (both come with a generous side of ranch). You get four cheese sticks for around three dollars and they're good considering its a fast food place. These sticks have a solid bite but manage to remain satisfyingly gooey. The poppers are not really poppers but more like jalapeno fritters consisting of diced jalapenos, mixed with cheese, breading and then deep fried. I'm not very fond of them. First, there is NO PLACE to pull off and wait and second, the last two times the car behind me was still in line when they brought my food out. This location and the "Two Can Dine" special for about $12 has been one of our "go-to" fast food choices for a while. On our last trip there on April 10, we discovered that the owner had sold the store and it had become a company store. The "Two Can Dine" special is no longer available so we ordered a Chicken Tenders dinner and a Catfish dinner to go ... spending almost $18. When we got home, there was no gravy for the chicken, no tartar sauce for the fish (even though we had asked if it was in there and received an affirmative answer), no rolls, no napkins and no utensils. We called the store and the phone rang for almost six minutes before someone answered. My husband spoke to the manager (who refused to give her name) and she said gravy was considered a condiment and they don't give refunds if they forget to put in condiments. We texted the number printed on the receipt inviting comments if you weren't satisfied with your experience but never received a reply. I emailed the corporate office and again, never received a reply. Sadly, Golden Chick apparently couldn't care less if their customers are satisfied with the customer service offered by their employees and don't realize that loyal customers are hard to come by.
