I have really tried this chicken place but have been very disappointed each time. I went again Friday night hoping for a better outcome. It was worse than the last time. They were OUT of chicken... I asked the gentleman at the window what he did have on hand . I waited for several minutes till someone else came to the speaker and asked for my order. I told her and she said "Naw, we ain't got no chicken. It'll be at least 20 minutes. So I went ahead and pulled to the window and had to knock to get someone's attention. I asked if we could at least get two sides since we couldn't get the chicken. She wasn't very friendly and didn't even say anything except how much I owed her. So I paid her. She handed me the food and shut the window. Not that I'm sorry not come back and see us nothing. It's like she was there at work but hated being there. So after this, I'm done we will not be going there anymore. I'll spend my money at Lisa's or at Lucy's because both of them act like they care about the customer. I came to this location about a week ago, I got the 13 piece tender deal and I requested for my sauce of choice to be barbecue. When I got to the window to pay all was well, I payed and the young black woman who tended to me was nice. When I checked the receipt I saw gravy, now I don't really like it and to be honest it was my fault for no throughly checking the bag and checking to see if there was any barbecue. When I went back and asked for the gravy to be switched out for barbecue, a manager came to the window. It was an hispanic woman that off rip was rude and condescending, which I don't understand because It was a genuine mistake on my art and I had no sort of attitude when asking for barbecue. When I asked if I could get it back she said id have to pay, which again is perfectly fine, but it isn't what you say its HOW you say things. Again I understand that not checking thoroughly was my fault but the way I was talked to was not acceptable and it was condescending. read more

Food was perfect for me. I was craving French fries and gravy, so I came here and was totally satisfied. The chicken tenders that came with it was a bonus for me since I craved the other foods. I had gone to the other chicken place the day before to take care of my craving and needless to say the other place just couldn't cut it. Overall the food was what I expected. I was driving so I had to use the drive thru and I told the lady this is my first time here. The problem is I ordered 8 tenders and after driving away I opened up the food to discover I only got 4 tenders. I called the store 4 times on different times and days and no one would pick up the phone. I also wish she would have told me that gravy was extra, because again I told her this was my first time trying their food. Me and my friend went about a week ago and shared the "big and golden" combo and when we first got the meal the fries were good but the chicken sandwich was absolutely horrendous. The bread was thin and cold, the chicken wasn't even eatable. Have been hearing about Golden Chick since I moved to Dallas. I finally decided to see what the hype was all about and I finally understand what the hype is all about. Golden Chick is pretty amazing. I decided to order their four piece chicken tender meal. I loved the price especially for the quality and quantity of food I received. The chicken was warm, juicy, and crispy. I decided instead of the gravy to get their homemade zaza sauce, which was creamy, savory, and oh so good. Combined with the chicken tenders it was just all so good! I loved the combination of the sweetness, saltiness, and crunch of the chicken! The only down side of all of this goodness was I decided to get the coleslaw. It was super dry and had no flavor at all! I tried adding pepper and it did nothing! However, some of this was made up by the yeast roll which was warm and fluffy. Since my last review, I have grown to like Golden Chick's food more than Chicken Express. I love how they added a spicy option for their tenders. My order is always the 4 count tenders, spicy, which comes with one side, a roll, gravy, and a drink. I get the fries as my side and replace the gravy with 2 honey mustard sauces and sweet tea to drink. I also ask for their lotta zing seasoning to add more spice to my food. Sometimes I get somewhat rude employees in the drive thru and they've closed earlier than they are supposed to before, but I really like their chicken compared to other chains. read more

Running errands last weekend and thought I'd swing by for the Fish & Shrimp special. Very disappointing, 3 regular shrimp and 2 very small fish fillets. Even the sides were small portions. Terrible experience, ordered the 6 piece chicken combo and two small sides total was $22.50 I really wanted some sweet tea, was told the sweet tea is only behind the counter so they guy finally gets me tea and it wasn't sweet, when I ordered the chicken I said I wanted them spicy, they were never spicy. I had to go up to the counter twice to ask for spicy salt and hot sauce, he gave me some hot sauce but still no spicy salt . I felt like I was bothering him by his demeanor . The chicken was not fresh at all . This was about 5 pm. And the roll I was given was burnt . Chicken express is two doors down , I normally eat there because it is ALWAYS consistent and really GOOD . Thought I would give golden chick a try and was fairly dissapointed . Cooper St. In Arlington, TX to pick up my free birthday meal with the Golden Chick Birthday Card that I received from them in the mail. As I said, I am homebound following surgery and I cannot drive. While my grandson was at Golden Chick, I received a notice on my cell phone that Golden Chick had charged my credit card for $48.04. When my grandson returned home, I asked him for the receipt and he said that he was not given one. The chicken he brought home was un-eatable, it was overcooked and dried out. It was obvious to me that they dumped a pile of throw away chicken on him. He didn't understand what happened and he said that the woman who waited on him in the drive thru didn't speak English. I am totally baffled how a FREE Birthday Chicken Dinner turned into a $48.04 purchase of overcooked and dried out chicken? I have already had some bad customer service before back when I was missing some items from my last visit. Even though I hesitated going here to this location I double checked on the door for the time Golden Chick closed which is 10pm for a Friday night and the time is now 9:46pm I drove up to the drive through and before I said anything a rude lady spoke stated "we are closed". I asked what time do y'all close and the lady said "we are closed" so I asked what her name was and told I don't need to worry about that. So I don't know what was taught in Golden Chick customer service training but a simple "I'm sorry but we have already closed" would have gone a long way with me. Also I'm not sure why putting 10pm to close on the door on a Friday night if they close early. So Chicken Express was still open and they close at 10pm and it's 9:49pm and funny enough they took my Order without any question and apparently they want my business. My brother brought me here yesterday after the tour of UT Arlington. They are known for their chicken and sweet yeast rolls. The chicken here is really good, and it tastes original not like most chicken places. I love their yeast rolls, they are sweet and tasty. Those of the types of rolls, I grew up with at the school cafeteria. The ones they have now for children are all wheat and dry, and tasteless. I am so glad I grew up with the best. The spicy chicken tenders are seasoned inside and out, I think that was a great idea. I bet the taste is double yummy. Next time, I will order that. They have this awesome deal where you can get a dozen (12) rolls for $4. You can take them home and freeze them. Whenever you are hungry for one, heat it up, and eat/enjoy. Finally tried these guys out, had some of those dots coupons from a Rangers game and decided to give them a go. We tried the new saucy tenders, the spicy Korean bbq is good. On my last visit I came through the drive thru, got my usual order and when I came home was disappointed. My 6 piece tenders were tiny, usually I get good sized portions. They only gave me one Zing sauce, usually they give me 2, I ran out of Zing half way through my tenders. My drink was mainly ice, so I hardly got any soda.
