The motel we stayed in had two separate bedrooms: and a tv right in front of each bed. Great for different people to watch different channels in the different rooms. It was also very clean and tidy. The staff cleaned up well, although they left some supplies in our room one time. That wasn't a biggie - just a small, careless mistake that was probably just a one time occurrence. The facilities also included a fitness room (kind of small, though, but at least it existed!), a pool, a water slide, and a hot tub. The wifi worked well and was very quick as well. There was a decent breakfast in the morning, and the lobby has cookies + popcorn + juice machine available in the afternoon/evening. Kids loved this! In our place, we had a fridge, microwave, stovetop, and coffee maker. Overall, a great place to stay in Hinton! Would definitely recommend: and not too expensive either.

And I am loving the convenient free wifi available in each room. The soaps and amenities are of good quality and you get an in room refrigerator as well. A continental breakfast is also served. My only concern were the seemingly paper thin walls and noise from the next room. But I figure with the savings I get by staying here I can afford a pair of ear plugs and still come out ahead. This location served me well after hiking several days in North Jasper Park area.

Our visit was brief, for a short hike, but the area around the lake with surrounding mountains is just lovely. There's a staffed visitor's centre, and I was able to take some paper maps and talk to a staff member about directions and recommended hikes for our time and energy levels. My husband and I tried out Kelly's Bathtub and Friendly Vistas, and the trails were nice easy walks in a pretty setting. We really only stopped for about an hour, but will definitely plan to return to check out more of this awesome park.

But they did let a bunch of generally tame 20- and 30-somethings run amok for an evening. It was pretty awesome. We ate two meals there. My specific complaint is that we were required to sign up for the Sunday brunch in advance of the wedding--which would have been fine, but there was some disagreement between the wishes of the bride (who wanted to hold the brunch at 9 a.m. to accommodate late risers and hangovers) and the ranch operators (who insisted that brunch would begin at 8 a.m.--as if that weren't just breakfast). This wasn't necessarily a problem, but they assessed guests an additional $8 for "brunch" because it was an hour later than they wanted to serve it. So we ended up paying $20 each for what was a pretty lacklustre breakfast, and the kicker was that we didn't even know until we were settling up at the service desk. I might consider going back as the lease on the ranch is for sale (it's on Crown Land). Maybe some buyers who aren't interested in fleecing captive guests will jump on board ...

That's a big no-no to me, I never even saw what number was entered on it. Please let customer handle their own credit card, it's their card. Besides this great stay.

Since there was no listing for the Griffith's owned Quick Lane oil change shop, i've decided to…read moreinclude it here. A simple brake change for an import car resulted in 2 re-scheduled appointments and me having to get the fairly common pads and tires from Canadian Tire on my own before dropping off the vehicle to Quick Lane for installing. 5 hours later and $500 poorer, they were installed while the additional muffler issue was forgotten. They billed 4 shop hours to replace pads and rotors? The pads and rotors that I previously paid for and delivered? What a rip-off and terrible customer service. For due diligence I obtained quotes from OK Tire, Canadian Tire and Bourne Auto who all quoted 2-2.5 hours shop hours. To top it off, it is clear that they don't want my continued business. The summer tires are completely worn and in need of replacing but they couldn't care less about offering top level service. There was no brake report (fluids, line condition etc.) and no overall safety check (tire wear, psi etc.) Gone are the days when reputation and customer care mattered. I will be taking my business elsewhere and giving top level advice to friends and family to stay away from Griffith's owned businesses.

The room head 2 queen beds and our reservation through a 3rd party site was for 3 people, but she charged us extra for the 3rd person. When we tried to explain - she shut us down. Even though the service was poor, the rest of the review is unsatisfactory for other reasons. The room itself was non-smoking but it smelled quite strange as if the people before us had smoked there. Other than that, it appeared clean and spacious. The beds and comforter weren't the most comfy, but it was fair for the price. They also offered free breakfast in the mornings. Be prepared to microwave your waffles and frozen omelettes. The only hot items were the hard boiled eggs, sausages and coffee. There is a lot of selection: cereal, muffins, coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, frozen omelette, waffles, sausage, hard boiled eggs, apples, bagels, and toast. It was a mediocre experience and I think I'd try my luck at another hotel rather than returning here.

Internet connection seemed a little slow, but worked fine with waits. There is a limited breakfast available, but we have not tried it yet. Other Days Inn have cereal, fruits, and waffles, so I am expecting the same here. The only detraction some may have is this Hotel is about 1.6 miles East of the center of town. not a problem since this is probably just a stop over on the way to Jasper Park.

Hence four stars. Few recommendations to the owner / operator who just started this place to get my full 5 stars: keep up your helpful ways! Please keep basic coffee machines in the room- they are cheap and don't cost much to operate. Lastly, it won't also cost much to keep decent shampoo,conditioner, body lotions instead of the cheap shampoo pouches. Such small amenities go a long way is providing a satisfying stay.
