Of course, you won't be spending much time in downtown or the hotel for that matter because most use Jasper as a launching pad to explore Jasper National Par (which is fantastically beautiful). There are 14 rooms here, all unique, with different amenities. We stayed in Room 7 which was a suite for two, king size bed, queen size sofa bed, wet bar with refrigerator, hardwood floors, gas fireplace, jet tub and........ are you sitting down?.... a marble shower with 5 shower heads! Months after staying here, I still think about the 5-head shower! Soooo niiiiiiiicccccceeee! Very affordable at $159 to $249 Canadian depending on what time of year. This was a very comfortable room, and I wouldn't mind either staying in this one again or trying another one here. Love this inn! Highly recommended!

Also questioned us when we asked for a replacement (is it just wrinkled?...). Kleenex literally had 1 more left in it, and coffee maker's boiled water came out straight black despite not being used to make coffee (they clearly hadn't cleaned it). Also asked for a replacement for the coffee maker, and the woman at the front desk passive aggressively asked "any more complaints?". The water in the replacement coffee machine came out straight black AGAIN. Worst service I've ever experienced in any type of inn/hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE.

So they chose this one which was nearby but survived the fire. They also have previously stayed here before. I like that there is a river right across that you can go to in the mornings. After figuring out there are amenities at the front office, I started snooping out this one and found an espresso maker! With fresh milk. So I would come here in the mornings for my morning coffee fix. There are also books, board games, and a couple of binders with all the different menus from town (some need updating though). The staff was very friendly and welcoming and I was able to meet the daughter of the owners. We also went to the hot tub which was very nice. We weren't sure how the changing/shower room worked, so my husband avoided it when there were women using it. You can chop some wood for your fire place which we did. I really liked the cabins - they feel kind of homey. The couches are all nice and thematic, the artwork is not generic - I think I saw other pieces by the same artist around Jasper. There was a fridge, microwave, toaster, and an electric kettle. There was also a bathtub which I needed after one of our hikes. I also liked the lotion - it really helped my skin heal up. The patios were really cute, but we never used them because of mosquitos. We were in a cabin with a shared wall - you can hear the other side if they're playing loud music. Which my brother-in-law was. My in-laws got a standalone cabin which was really cute because it's like a cute little house. It would be perfect if you have younger kids who was some of their own space. These ones also have a stove - so some frozen pizzas were made. They are in the process of rebuilding the cabins. We weren't staying in the cabins during the day mostly so if there was noise I didn't notice. If you are driving into town, use the highway to avoid the train.

There's no restaurant here but some groceries are available at the desk. Jasper is very close and there are lots of food options there. So we took it home for someone elae and she ate the onion rings i order with my burger. The rings were a big hit and we had to order more to go. So in summary, fried food good, salads bad.

Front desk was also polite, in the morning the lady was a bit of rough but that's her kind of humor . Pricing is ok. For the breakfast bagel I would expect a better value for that money. The room was clean, new carpet and painted. Fridge and TV there. But I have to say it's old. Mean rustic. But if you wanna avoid to drive in the morning an hour from Rocky Mountain House to get to Nordegg for your hike get over it. Import is it's clean. Maybe one day they do a haul over and then it will be really good. Room service was good! Thanks to all there to make it a good experience.

But when we got in, I was definitely glad this was the only place left. It does not disappoint. For one, it's very spacious. The motel we stayed in had two separate bedrooms: and a tv right in front of each bed. Great for different people to watch different channels in the different rooms. It was also very clean and tidy. The staff cleaned up well, although they left some supplies in our room one time. That wasn't a biggie - just a small, careless mistake that was probably just a one time occurrence. The facilities also included a fitness room (kind of small, though, but at least it existed!), a pool, a water slide, and a hot tub. The wifi worked well and was very quick as well. There was a decent breakfast in the morning, and the lobby has cookies + popcorn + juice machine available in the afternoon/evening. Kids loved this! In our place, we had a fridge, microwave, stovetop, and coffee maker. Overall, a great place to stay in Hinton! Would definitely recommend: and not too expensive either.

My only concern were the seemingly paper thin walls and noise from the next room. But I figure with the savings I get by staying here I can afford a pair of ear plugs and still come out ahead. This location served me well after hiking several days in North Jasper Park area.

They had scrambled eggs, sausage, breads and yogurt. They had 2 waffle makers with only one that actually worked. Juice and coffee were available. The breakfast was your average hotel breakfast.
