As it's her first grooming, I needed it to be a positive experience for Summer so that she can enjoy future grooming experiences. I called and spoke with all the mobile and brick-and-mortar grooming shops in the Bay Area and settled with Yabadabadoo for the following reasons: (1) Alex has the most years of experience in dog grooming compared to any other groomer in the area; (2) They send two groomers to do the job, which goes to show dedication to each grooming experience rather than maximizing # of jobs; (3) I looked in detail in every review, and Yabadabadoo, while admittedly having a lesser quantity of reviews, had no reports of negligence or negative experiences at all. I found that with other groomers, there were bad experiences reported in between the good ones. I found that this is the case because typically a business or owner will employ groomers rather than do the job themselves. Here with Yabadabadoo, the co-owners Alex and Jose do all the work themselves. After settling and scheduling the appointment, Alex and Jose arrived and took extreme care of Summer. When checking in here and there, Summer looked extremely relaxed and they took amazing care for her. Their mobile station was very clean with all needed equipment as well. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience for Summer. Our Summer doesn't even like toys but plays well with the Christmas Tree squishy toy they gave her! Our family truly appreciates the love, care, and dedication shown to Summer from Yabadabadoo. And trust me we are especially picky with these types of things.

The grooming for both took two and half hours, which is quite efficient. Both dogs were quite happy upon my arrival, and they both looked beautiful, especially my Coton. Coton's have hair not fur and it is white, and my girl came out as white as she could be! My pug went in for deshedding, and they did a wonderful job with his fur. The staff at Ellie's are extremely friendly and personable. They took the time to listen to exactly what type of cut we wanted, showing they genuinely care about both the dogs and their owners' preferences. Both Zoie and Bella came out looking fantastic, with grooms that were perfectly executed. The facility itself is well-maintained, clean, and very welcoming, which made us feel comfortable leaving our girls there. It has been a total five-star experience from start to finish. Luan showed up on time but texted me shortly after from outside saying there had been an accident. He said he accidentally cut my dogs upper leg near his groin and we came outside to see a LARGE deep open WOUND. It had been over an hour at this point and no hair cut had been completed, not sure if they wash or cut first. Although he was apologetic he did not reach out after even though he said he d escalate this to his supervisor. We never heard anything back after that. We had to spend the afternoon at the vet and my dog is still healing from the cut. Would not recommend this groomer.

When I contacted Cheryl for another grooming session (less than 1 month later), she didn't even remember me or our dogs. When I reminded her, she took a long time to respond. I should have known she would be like this as when I reached out to her the very first time as a potential new client, she said she would get back to me that night. She didn't. I followed up with her the following day and she didn't even apologize. She simply stated she was out late to dinner. On the plus side, the actual bathing and grooming part was top notch.
