He handled my dog's anxiety and paw sensitivity beautifully, and his pricing was always fair and transparent. Since Nick was let go, the experience has gone downhill. Scheduling with Shawn took weeks, and when we finally had an appointment, he was a no-show. Later he apologized, blaming a "dead zone." We rescheduled, but the night before the new appointment he texted to confirm--and dropped a surprise price increase: an extra $40 for anxiety and $100+ for aggression. This would have doubled the cost of my dog's groom overnight, despite the fact that Shawn had always been paid directly and should have known the pricing. When I questioned it, he brushed it off as Nick "charging wrong for years." That excuse doesn't add up, and the last-minute price gouging felt unprofessional. He knows and understands your pet and listens to what you are looking for. He has also found issues with are pets that if he had not found I would have not known are dog had to go to the vet. Shawn is just awesome! Our labradoodle Fozzie is very sensitive and hates the vet and getting groomed. A groomer once told me he was "impossible" I can barely brush him myself. But when Shawn comes to the door, he is excited to go with him. He licks him and Shawn gives him lots of attention. Shawn sends us pictures and videos of Fozzie being brushed and getting a blow out from the van and I can't believe Fozzie just sits there and lets it happen! We have 2 large goldendoodles. They are only a year old and we are new to this grooming business. We've brought them to 3 different places around Antioch and Pittsburg, but everytime we get them back, it looks like they didn't really got much grooming that groomers claimed they did. Also, the pups spends an awful long time to be at the groomers, probably waiting in a cage for their turn to be groomed and then pick up. I highly recommend Shawn! He is very professional, and warm at the same time. His van is brand new, very clean and have the latest most updated tools needed to do an excellent grooming. Booking is easy. I did it all by text! And method of payment with his mobile payment machine is most convenient! I had to work on our grooming schedule. I work 15 mins. away. I went home to go over details with him, unlocked the side gate and gave him instructions how to get in and out the side gate to let the dogs back in the garage, then I went back to work. He is definitely trustworthy. Shawn did an AMAZING job with our golden doodles! He took his time with each one of them. Most importantly, they came out CLEAN & definitely CUTE! And they were happy!!! He kept me updated throughout the whole process, texting me & letting me know that he was going to do something that we initially didn't discuss because he found out that our pups were much more matted that he first thought. I like the fact that he asked my permission first. I was hesitant in the beginning to go really short, but he assured me that it will be the best thing to do for the dogs, and that they will still be cute even with short hair! I'm glad I trusted him to go for it, because he was definitely 100% correct! Our dogs are much cleaner, happier and cuter! Their coat much healthier and even shinier! Shawn definitely knows what he's doing. His attention to detail is impeccable. Although mobile grooming is a bit more expensive, it is definitely worth it! The convenience of the van coming to the house is so worth it. The whole process was SO easy and stress free to both owners, and pets. I recommend booking your appointments in advance because I know for sure Shawn will be booked up once more pet owners experience how good he is.
