We came into Gold Rush today to see about selling some gift cards and a necklace that seemed to be of value. Travis went above and beyond to help us understand what is being looked at from our items. He was very transparent and friendly with his information to help us make an educated decision. I'm so glad I found this place!! I had a big pile of old jewelry that was about to go to goodwill, but my mom (who used to work at a jewelry store) suggested I bring it somewhere to see if it could be sold first. As other reviews and even the owner stated, it's important to note that gold rush is NOT jewelry store. They simply buy the raw materials, so the price they give is for the RAW material. (For example, my custom made wedding band would retail in a jewelry store for over $500 even though the raw material cost is only about $40 worth of 14k white gold - I obviously didn't sell that, I was just curious what the price would be on the raw material). I found the conversation about how they price and sell materials to be very interesting. Again, this pile of "junk" jewelry was just going to be given away, it wasn't nice enough to try to sell to an actual jewelry store or pawn shop. Most of the chains were severely tarnished and kinked, so I'm confident any reseller would have laughed in my face if I brought them in. Anyway, my "junk" pile of sterling silver and 2 gold pieces ended up earning me over $100! Travis was super nice and knowledgeable, and did a great job of explaining everything. I will absolutely be back once I have a decent collection of "junk" jewelry to trade in. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I cleaned house this last time so it might be a while :) read more

I have been going to Gold Rush in Lakewood on Wadsworth Blvd for quite some time. i usually have the pleasure of working with this really nice gentleman, and also once with a female who worked there. they were great and professional and have me good offers. I refer them to people and a couple of my friends started going to them as well. i had to flee a deadly domestic violence situation and I'm trying to leave state for safety reasons. since it's not planned I haven't saved for this and took a gold necklace in today to them! I've had my physical license present in the past but the other two employees have accepted my digital copy of it a few times and i was giving the guy a heads up today that I have my digital license, but couldn't even finish my sentence before he interrupted me & said, "No we are required by the state to take only your physical ID." I let him know that they've taken the digital copy every time except the first time and it's not been an issue. I let him know it's the state who is making IDs digital. He had already been seeing me out the door before I finished talking to him. He handed me a number to call and rudely told me to call his boss. I will be doing that after traveling two hours on public transportation to get there. I'm sure he viewed me as a homeless person since I was carrying my backpack due to riding a bus and thought I was just wasting his time. none the less, he's rude, unprofessional, he desired my business one other time as well because he said the jewelry I had wasn't real but it was and he never even tested it! He suggested I take it to a pawn shop! He shouldn't be in that position if he doesn't like working with people. They lost a good customer today as a result! read more

It's almost funny how dumb they thought I was and what they could get away with. I worked with Clint on Broadway and sat there and listened to him give me an "education" on gold and diamonds and their value. After listening for what seemed like forever to a bunch of Mumbo jumbo I knew was not true he gave me the $amount he would pay. It took everything in me not to laugh in his face. Being that I am a classy lady I took my goods that he offered me $300 dollars for and went to another place and got $980. I passed two Range Rovers in the parking lot and felt sad for the people who fell for his hustle so he could buy them. Bottom line... Horrible experience! I took my gold jewelry with the understanding I would get my gems back. I got them back alright...broken to pieces. The guy had no regard for the stones using a rusty pliers to break them out of the setting. I was stupid not to stop him but I had already signed the contract and brokered the deal. I got 340.00 cash for the gold, not sure I wasn't screwed on price. They kept my diamonds for which I was never paid. BAD!! read more
