The facility is nice--a big pool, ample chair & bench seating for observing, 2 restrooms, spacious changing rooms, a play area with some simple items, vending machine, & a hair dryer for use. Music plays in the background. Communication was facilitated through email, phone, text, & in-person availability. We always found staff helpful. They also had a box for comments & praise for staff. Our kiddo did 2 sessions with 2 designated instructors. However, she ended up working with 3 other substitutes several times as well. You are given advance notice, & luckily our kiddo would go with the flow, but some kids might have a harder time if they need more trust & consistency. We generally found the instructors to be encouraging & positive. There's a fine line between pushing too hard or not enough, & they seemed to try to find that sweet spot. Little one would get pep talks when needed. She enjoyed the bit of free play at the end of the session as a reward for her efforts. We appreciated the post-class progress checks from the instructors. A ribbon system created positive incentive & moments of pride when earned. It's notable that other dynamics will impact your experience. It was really nice when we had a time that wasn't too busy compared to another time that was quite crowded. Though signs are in the play area regarding supervision & playing nicely with items, I still observed poor behavior & lack of supervision. Also, waiting for the dressing rooms was disorganized. Though a pseudo-line would form, some people opportunistically jumped in ahead. In hindsight, it would be helpful for staff to remind & emphasize some parent behavior expectations & create a system for lining up for the dressing rooms.

3 stars!? For this gym!? Ain't no way…read more.. This place has everything you can want in a gym. It's clean, great amenities, good people and the vibes always right. Sure, you could pay less and even get a bigger gym, but bigger doesn't always equal better. I think of this place as the "Cheers" of gyms. Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name.

But if you only care about fitness results, Ironworks (downtown GV) is a superior gym. I came from a more serious weightlifting gym (Ironworks), so I'm still adjusting to this new gym culture. Dedicated lifters tend to abide by the unwritten (yet important) rules of the gym, while the members of this gym...not so much. People banging weights off and on my bench in the middle of my set. Its terribly distracting, especially when lifting near PR. Taking cable attachments while my jacket and bag are directly under it (Indicating that it is currently in use). If you go to take a drink of water, keep an eye on your machine. Lots of standing conversations in the way of weights and equipment. Loud bluetooth phone conversations. Proper etiquette is to take the call away from the workout floor. Instagram girls filming content. I get they are doing their thing, hustling social media or OnlyFans. The camera setups can be a bit of an obstacle, but more importantly many people in the gym prefer not to be filmed and they should be able to exercise in peace. All of these violations are common in big gyms like this, while members of serious weightlifting gyms tend to know the unwritten etiquette. Its something to consider when choosing the gym that suits your needs best. The facility is clean and pretty, the staff are friendly and professional, and the equipment is in good shape.

From day one, Kelli created a warm, welcoming environment that made our grandson feel safe and excited to be in the water. All of the instructors (Kelli, Sam, and Joe) are incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and truly understands how to work with young children while blending fun with important water safety skills in the perfect balance. Each week's lesson is well-structured, age-appropriate that keeps our 3-year old grandson focused and smiling. We were amazed by the progress in just a few short weeks. Swim students are one-on-one with their instructor. It's clear they genuinely care about each child's comfort and development. We highly recommend these lessons to any parent looking to introduce their child to swimming or expand their child's swimming skills.

Even though the party time window is a bit short, I do appreciate that they have the option to shut the place down for private events. They also provide a private party room for your group to use, which is really convenient. The indoor pool is actually warm (which I truly appreciate, because I've been to plenty of places that claim their pools are "warm" when they definitely are not). There's also a section where kids have to pass a swim test to receive a bracelet, which allows them access to the deeper area and the inflatable play zone. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty, so it always feels safe, and they provide life jackets as well. All kids are required to wear approved life vests while in the water. I also like that there are showers right by the pool, along with doors that lead directly into the men's and women's locker rooms and bathrooms. It makes it easy to enter and exit from both the indoor and outdoor areas, although parents should definitely keep an eye on their kids since there are multiple exit points. One thing to note is that they're pretty strict about party timing. If you go over your allotted time, they may not always remind you, but they will charge you afterward. I really wish they had separate designated party time and swim time, because it can feel rushed trying to fit everything in at once. Overall, it's a nice place to take the kids. They also offer swim lessons and other programs, which is a plus. The only downside is that some of the front desk staff seem young and occasionally don't have clear answers to specific questions. This wasn't our first visit and definitely won't be our last.

I feel like I'm swimming in a greenhouse when the roof is closed. I love not having to wear sunscreen, a hat, or sunglasses, but some people still might. So many water fitness classes offered here! There are multiple classes Monday to Friday. Only 1 class on Saturday and Sunday, but that's still pretty good. You need to get a wristband for each water fitness class. The most popular and biggest class is the Hydro Fusion class held MWF 10:30 am and TR 9:05 am. You can start getting a wristband for this class 1 hour ahead of time. I've also enjoyed the Shallow H20 Fit classes and the Monday night Aqua Yoga class. I don't think you can reserve a swim lane. You just hope for an empty lane, stay in your half lane if you have to share with 1 other swimmer, or circle swim if there are 3+ swimmers in a lane. If you need to move between lanes, staff wants you to swim under the lane dividers. They are afraid the lane dividers can't hold the weight of a person. There are so many lifeguards! Sometimes during class or if you're in the middle pool lanes, it feels awkward seeing them loom over you. They're ready to rescue you! There are swim programs for kids. For Easter, there is a floating egg hunt! For Halloween, there is a floating pumpkin patch. https://www.roseville.ca.us/government/departments/parks/programs_classes/fitness/ Look under Mike Shellito Indoor Pool, Fitness Schedules, and Memberships for details. Very affordable, especially if you are a resident of Roseville. You can pay for a monthly membership, buy a 10 or 20 visit punch card, or just drop in. Every January, there is a punch card promo to get you exercising: Buy 10, Get 5 free visits. The cool thing about the punch card or daily drop-in is that you can attend as many classes at any of the 3 Roseville exercise facilities (Mike Shellito, Mahany Fitness Center, Maids Community Center) that day! This is the daily class schedule: https://groupexpro.com/schedule/788/?view=new I had some bad luck when I initially tried out evening classes with last-minute cancelations or no shows. I waited over a year to try my first evening class. Bring your own towel and lock for the locker room. Only 4 shower stalls inside the locker room. Many people just rinse off and head home in their swim parkas. I also bring my own bag for the wet clothing and swimsuit. There's only 1 type of shampoo/body wash foam, so you might want to bring conditioner. No paper towels in the restrooms, just hand dryers. Leave time to park, check in, use locker room, and grab your weights and noodle before class. Pool closes between 1:15 pm and 3:45 pm Mon to Thu. On Fri, it's closed between 1:15 pm and 6:35 pm. Sat and Sun stays open until 4 pm with no midday closure. If you enjoy swimming or aqua fit classes or water therapy, I highly recommend Mike Shellito.
