I love how there's plenty of parking and even a nearby park. I've been here twice now for two different birthday parties, and overall it's been a great experience. Even though the party time window is a bit short, I do appreciate that they have the option to shut the place down for private events. They also provide a private party room for your group to use, which is really convenient. The indoor pool is actually warm (which I truly appreciate, because I've been to plenty of places that claim their pools are "warm" when they definitely are not). There's also a section where kids have to pass a swim test to receive a bracelet, which allows them access to the deeper area and the inflatable play zone. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty, so it always feels safe, and they provide life jackets as well. All kids are required to wear approved life vests while in the water. I also like that there are showers right by the pool, along with doors that lead directly into the men's and women's locker rooms and bathrooms. It makes it easy to enter and exit from both the indoor and outdoor areas, although parents should definitely keep an eye on their kids since there are multiple exit points. One thing to note is that they're pretty strict about party timing. If you go over your allotted time, they may not always remind you, but they will charge you afterward. I really wish they had separate designated party time and swim time, because it can feel rushed trying to fit everything in at once. Overall, it's a nice place to take the kids. They also offer swim lessons and other programs, which is a plus. The only downside is that some of the front desk staff seem young and occasionally don't have clear answers to specific questions. Mike Shellito Indoor Pool is a beautiful facility with an 8-lane lap pool and a warming pool (27 person capacity). It has a sun roof that can be opened and closed. I feel like I'm swimming in a greenhouse when the roof is closed. I love not having to wear sunscreen, a hat, or sunglasses, but some people still might. So many water fitness classes offered here! There are multiple classes Monday to Friday. Only 1 class on Saturday and Sunday, but that's still pretty good. You need to get a wristband for each water fitness class. The most popular and biggest class is the Hydro Fusion class held MWF 10:30 am and TR 9:05 am. You can start getting a wristband for this class 1 hour ahead of time. I've also enjoyed the Shallow H20 Fit classes and the Monday night Aqua Yoga class. I don't think you can reserve a swim lane. You just hope for an empty lane, stay in your half lane if you have to share with 1 other swimmer, or circle swim if there are 3+ swimmers in a lane. If you need to move between lanes, staff wants you to swim under the lane dividers. They are afraid the lane dividers can't hold the weight of a person. There are so many lifeguards! Sometimes during class or if you're in the middle pool lanes, it feels awkward seeing them loom over you. They're ready to rescue you! There are swim programs for kids. For Easter, there is a floating egg hunt! There's only 1 type of shampoo/body wash foam, so you might want to bring conditioner. No paper towels in the restrooms, just hand dryers. Leave time to park, check in, use locker room, and grab your weights and noodle before class. Pool closes between 1:15 pm and 3:45 pm Mon to Thu. On Fri, it's closed between 1:15 pm and 6:35 pm. My kid was practicing swimming with the city at Mike Shellito pool for over a year. The coaches were friendly and approachable. Though he had fun more than learning which is important, I would also expect the coaches to teach the younger kids the techniques of swimming rather than following their comfort. We checked out Mike Shellito Indoor Pool for the first time last weekend for a pool party. We spent an hour in one of their private rooms to do food and cake. It was then followed by 2 hours of swim in their open pool area. The workers were really helpful and attentive - check-in was really smooth and easy too. I know they allow outside food as well, but your setup and clean up time is apart of your 3 hour time slot so keep that in mind. The pool was nice and clean from what I could see. They also set up an inflatable obstacle course - the kids need to pass a swim test by themselves before they can do it too. I spotted at least 4 different life guards on duty which made the experience feel safe. I highly recommend this place for birthday parties! read more

Attended my daughters classmates' birthday party. Kids had fun swimming and doing the blow up obstacle course. Lifeguards were nice and attentive. Room that the birthday party was held in was clean and good size. Price per website was pretty cheap compared to other places you can throw a kids party. Just went to swim in their indoor pool and it was honestly nice. Bathrooms/locker rooms/shower rooms were really nice & clean. They even had soap there for the shower so that was really nice. Lovely indoor poor for nearby residents close and far! Pool for tots on Sundays from 11:30 AM-12:45 PM. Also Tue and Thu from 10-11 AM in case you can make it. For only $5 per parent/child under 6 pair ($3 for additionals), we experienced a clean and safe pool environment, warm water during cold days, nice temp controlled shower afterwards to rinse off, a friendly servicing staff, welcoming ambiance for one and all, toys and floaties to keep the kids entertained, and generous parking with plenty of spaces! Pretty neat they also had a cute, small slide for the kids to experience a little "dive." If you want to teach your child how to swim during this time, just keep in mind the space is for recreational swimming and there are plenty of families and babies around so it'll be somewhat challenging to provide an optimal learning experience. Otherwise, it's a wonderful environment to get them familiar and comfortable with swimming! Want to bring in the entire family with those over 6 years old? Both lap and recreational pools are open Sat and Sun 1-4 PM. Ecstatic that this indoor pool is nearby so we can hit the deck swimming with our two toddlers all year long! Very affordable and highly recommended for recreational swimming. Maybe one day we'll enroll our kids to take swimming lessons here but that's for another day. read more

Lifelong swimmer/instructor & thought I would try this as an alternative to a big expensive club with a pool, but I was shocked to see so many just plain unclean looking people in the leisure pool (greasy hair, etc.!) using it as a bathtub - and the lap lanes crowded with people who are the polar opposite of serious lap swimmers, and in there actually making up their own bizarre strokes! Absolutely terrible staff. There's just a pool but the kids working there totally make it bad. So much yelling at kids playing and you can't have anything in the pool with you. Probably ok if you just want to swim laps but it was the first and last time I'll be visiting, ruined my kids time attending a birthday party. Get better people and do better Roseville, it should be fun and not a pool prison complete with guards, only thing they are missing is clubs and tasers. read more

Stopped in here for a work out while travelling the day before Thanksgiving. It's convenient and clean. Friendly people at the front desk. Plenty of lanes to use and nice open area to help dissipate the chlorine from the pool. There are 2 pools - one is Therapy related and this other one is sometimes lap time, sometimes for recreation. One Con is the locker room - the bench was loose and unstable and fit 2 guys, and the handicap shower room seemed like it was going to fall apart. Still very happy to have the access for a good work out while travelling for $7 drop in rate. read more

The only indoor pool in Roseville and my baby loves this pool. They have baby hours dedicated 3 times a week for a little less than 2 hours. It could be crowded on Sunday but during weekdays is empty. My baby loves the water fountain outside. The price is reasonable and the indoor makes it really nice so babies don't get sunburn as much as those outdoor ones. The only thing is that the changing table in the dressing room never gets cleaned....As they have baby sessions, they should remember to check that. My two year old son took lessons at Mike Shellito for about a month. I have been impressed with how well the instructors (Alyssa and Dakota) interacted with him and the other children they taught. They were very open with communication and consistently offered feedback and suggestions, and they are open to suggestions from me as the parent to help my child succeed and progress. After that, I tried to get my deposit back, but the placed ghosted me. I left messages, I sent ultimate emails, but no response, not once. Booked a birthday party with Rachel M for this last weekend and it was a huge success! I highly recommend an indoor pool party at Mike Shellito especially when it's 100+ degrees outside. Sometimes, paying extra for a facility is so worth it than a park birthday party. We booked it about 1 month in advance as it can get pretty busy. We opted for the Birthday Party public swim as opposed to a private birthday party. There are two main pools many of our little swimmers stayed in the shallower pool and many of our big kids swam in the deeper depth pool where they had the obstacle course. The outdoor water sprayers were on outside which was really nice for the little ones to play in and come right back into the pool. The facility was nice and cool inside especially for those parents who opted not to swim. They were able to hang out in the bleachers. We had a party host when we moved in to the party room which was helpful as she set up the room and decorated the room for the party. Unfortunately, they ran out of helium so we didn't get balloons. They provided everything else such as lemonade, cups, plates, utensils and did all the clean up. A great perk is that you can bring your own food and drinks. You're not limited to ordering from a specific vendor like other facilities. With only 1 hour in the party room we only really had enough time for food and cake. We didn't get a chance to open the gifts so maybe an extra 20-30 mins for gifts would be ample time in the party room. Overall we would book another party at the Mike Shellito Indoor Pool. We have gone here a few times for open swim and have always been impressed by the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff, so when it came time to plan our boy's 5th birthday party, the birthday flyer caught our eye and we are so grateful it did. From the first phone call to book the party venue to the clean-up experience, everyone we encountered here was so incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. I know these are college and high school kids for the most part, but they could give lessons to a lot of professionals in customer service. Whatever they are doing to select and train these kids here it works. For what is a more than competitive fee in the birthday party venue market, you get this entire place for you and up to 50 guests, complete with 2 party hosts and multiple life guards. The kids get to swim safely and monitored in both pools, play on the splash pad and if they pass the "across the pool test" they can play on the inflatable as well. Kids who need a float will need a parent in the pool, but other parents can watch and enjoy. What a refreshing change from the stuffy assembly line bounce jump places and hot parks! After swim, you get the air conditioned party room for an hour for food, fun and cake. You can bring in your own decorations and food and leave everything but the presents and what you want to keep when you're done. Easy Peasy. Everyone was raving as they left about what a wonderful venue and party it was and we agree, so will you! Dangerous and Chooses Money Over Morals ! My kids took lessons here for 2 years so I know this place. Tyler and Gabby were their instructors and will always receive 5 Stars from our family for treating our children like their family. Those instructors are Not there anymore and the place has become dangerous and not safe. On my last visit I observed a lifeguard "AUDIT" when a staff member pretends to fall in the pool or "fake drown" and the life guards didn't even respond. There was no awareness to something so serious and the pool manager had to come up for air over and over until someone pointed it out to a lifeguard who then very slowly walked over to the pools edge and sat down. My family on 7/21 went in for open swim and I Was told I couldn't watch my kids swim unless I paid a "spectators" fee. The same price it costs to swim. My family will never return here. You have lost a faithful customer for life! After all the positive reviews I have left for this company. All the lessons we have paid for and all the referrals I have sent to this business I will tell every person I know not to come here because they separate families and value money over morals. Its unsafe to swim here and if you can't train your minimum wage, summer vacation teenagers to be life guards and you won't let parents view their children incase of an emergency, I will take pride in warring everybody at my kids schools and in our community that its not safe at this pool. Change your policy back so parents don't have to pay a "Spectators" Fee after they have paid for their children to swim or your will continue to get blasted through Social Media ! read more

What a change has happened at this place. They sold a lot of memberships and all the classes are vastly overcrowded. 7 years ago the participants were friendly and had a great time in the aerobics classes. Went to a deep water class today and what a bummer - they made me get a "reservation" and then allowed 50 people for a deep water class that maybe should have had 20 people - not enough equipment. Then to top it off the had a rude and disgusting encounter with front office clerk - what a miserable experience. Suggest finding another facility! read more

Made a trip to Sacramento to hang out with family friends. Unfortunately their community pool had a limit of 5 guests per day and so we didn't get to enjoy their new pool. Got recommended to this pool area and it was a $5 entrance fee. Outdoor pool with skylight ceiling. Restrooms were fully equipped with lockers and showers. Had a great time swimming here. They had an inflatable obstacle course on one side of the pool for kids but my friend and I were able to do it once before all the kids came out to play. Wasn't too crowded on. Sunday afternoon either. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

Haven't been here in years, so I thought I would reserve a time to go and swim some laps. I called about a question, and i've been on hold for about an hour now.... for one pool question. I understand this might be a multi-use number, but still. Also, if you are on hold, do not turn up the static quiet elevator music. A lady will give some speech every two minutes that will break your ears since the volumes aren't balanced at all. Does anyone know any other pools open right now for lap swimming? I love this pool!  The instructors are so friendly and the aqua classes are great! You are to wear your mask going in and once you are in the pool you can take it off. The staff is always friendly saying hello and smiling! (My kind of people).  To sign up for classes you have to do it within 3 days of the class, they go fast so be prepared.  This pool is great for anyone who wants to get some water workouts in.  I haven't used the locker room yet and showers are closed due to Covid.   I love their punch card options and also the family memberships.  When you call to speak to someone they pick up right away and are super helpful in answering any questions.  Happy Swimming! read more

Carlie was the instructor for my son, we loved it so much we signed up again! Guppie/Turtle. Carlie gave personal individualized attention and made it fun for the kids. I really liked her. The swimming area is very clean and the employees are so friendly at the front desk. The locker room and restroom is clean, too. But it's always so cold in the locker room, brrrrr... I wish they would clean the bleacher benches though, I would come Mon-Thu and would see the same gunk on the seating area everyday. Other than that, this is a wonderful place to take your kids swimming. read more

Indoor pools always seem extra dirty to me. this one wasn't so bad. I like the windows, open feeling to see the sun while indoor swimming.

This place is really a blessing for the kids and young adults. My older grand kid attended this facility for for 3 years and now he is in a swim team at RAC. Younger one is going there now. They are a bit slow in making progress, by keeping it more as a fun and playful experience for kids, they will have the growing interest in coming here again and again. 1st year we were taking him only on Saturday's it didn't help much. When we started coming here at least 2 days in a week, sometimes 3; we could see noticeable difference in improvements and he was getting level up every 4 to 6 weeks. You need to book the classes at the start of the season, others it's really hard to get a spot. read more

I've been swimming at Mike Shellito pool for a number of years. I really have nothing bad to report except for their lack of security, albeit cameras, full time front desk coverage, etc. There has been several robberies there, one of which I was unfortunately a victim. My lock was cut and along with one other guy. They used our keys to find our cars and get our credit cards. The police were called but I never heard anything back from them. In fact I've never got any type of feedback from any of the staff there, nor the city of Roseville. Evidently security isn't something that's on the priority list. Perhaps they don't want to acknowledge it for fear of driving away patronage. Most of the young staff there is fine, although right after the incident, I came in the next day to swim and there was absolutely no one at the front desk. Just made me shake my head and made me think that perhaps the staff communication wasn't that good. Other then that, the pool is good mostly, a little too warm at times which I personally don't care for and Mondays on occasion the pool seems dirtier then normal. So 4 stars is fine, I've changed my routine and now come in with suit on, and keep everything with me. That way when the next locker room caper happens I won't be a victim. read more

Best pool membership in town! Shhhhhhh..... My kids love this place, it's clean, not very crowded in summer (all the luddites flock to the water park and city outdoor pool where they can jame together like sardines) and absolutely a 'walk up, step in' place during the brief California winter. The membership is the best secret in town, and their summer swimming pass for families beats the bejunkus out of any and all other local offers. Now, don't tell everybody.... :) read more

I'm on day 7 of the 14 day free Trial. This place is great. I think I'm the youngest person in the pool at 6 or 7 am. Mens locker is clean, and not crowded at all. Staff is really friendly. You only give them your name and Phone number to enter (after already signing up). I'm getting addicted to this pool. I know I could swim at 24-hour fitness around the block from my house.. But it's just not Mike Shellito's Indoor Pool. This place. I will probably become a Member since you get access to the Roseville Gym as well. read more

I've been taking my three year old son here for swim lessons. The staff are great, we signed him up for the guppie/turtle class through Roseville Parks and Rec and he was too big for the class. We were able to get him moved into the duck class right there at the pool. The guys running the class are great and look like they are really having fun with the kids. The indoor pool does get very warm and humid, but overall it's a great place for swim lessons, especially in the winter! read more
