The quality of our pool is stunning! People comment on our tile and finish everytime they come over. They also completed our pool in 2 months once construction started which we were thrilled about because we can take advantage of the entire pool season. Communication, quality, and the finished product are things I couldn't be happier about. Our pool turned out perfect and since completion our kids have been swimming daily. It's clear that they prioritize upkeep, which I really appreciate. The staff here are always friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. That said, this is very much a swimmer's pool--designed for lap swimming and training rather than recreational use or family playtime. While they do have some equipment available for use, most swimmers bring their own gear. One of my favorite aspects is how uncrowded it is when I go early in the morning. I usually get a lane to myself, which is such a luxury compared to other pools. The membership fees are very reasonable for what you get--especially considering the quality of the facilities and the experience. If you're looking for a pool geared toward training or serious lap swimming, I highly recommend The Swimstitute. I had a not-so-great experience and decided to take my business to the Swimstitute instead. I started out with buy a block of swim passes, just to make sure I liked it. Due to my work schedule at the time, I'd end up going in the afternoons when all the kids had their swim classes. That wasn't ideal for me so when it came time to take the step to a monthly pass, I opted not to. The value just wasn't there and I felt like the pool wasn't maintained as well as 24 hour fitness'.

I took my 6 year old here because he had no confidence with entering a pool without a floaty. After 1 week of the 2 week lesson, my son was swimming in our pool without a floaty. He could swim from one side of the pool to the other! The lessons were a huge help. Then I found In Shape in Folsom and felt like I found my gym... finally. Things I look for in a gym are: Punching bags (there's 2 one outside and one inside) the inside one has been removed the last few days... I hope they fix it. I also look for a steam room and sauna, and of course a pool. I also love that they have a smoothie bar with great ingredient options which are fairly priced.

You have accomplished what decades of New Year's resolutions could not: you've made me less excited to come to the gym. The rich maroon and blue walls gave this place personality. They made it feel energetic, comfortable, and welcoming. Now I walk in expecting someone to hand me a clipboard, ask for my insurance card, and tell me the MRI machine is down the hall. Did someone lose a bet? Was there a clearance sale on "Corporate Beige Despair?" Did a committee gather around paint swatches and unanimously declare, "Let's remove every ounce of warmth from the building"? This gym has always been one of the reasons I've stayed a member for years. It had character. It felt alive. Now it feels like the waiting room where enthusiasm goes to die. Whoever approved this color scheme owes the old walls a formal apology. Please. Bring back the warmth. My muscles don't mind the workout, but my eyeballs are filing a grievance.
