They're conveniently located in the heart of Peoria! There's plenty of ample parking. The entryway and overall store is incredibly clean! We were greeted immediately upon entering and were helped just as quickly. We sold a new in box pistol that I purchased for my wife a couple of years ago. She never used it and Peoria Pawn was happy to take it off our hands! Their service is super friendly and they're so knowledgeable! They explained the entire process from start to finish. BE VERY CAREFUL BRINGING YOUR JEWELRY HERE…read more I came in to have my 24K gold bracelet and traditional baby ring appraised. The employee helping me was Alicia. From the beginning, I felt uncomfortable with the interaction, so I made sure to keep a close eye on my jewelry. What concerned me was that their scale was not on the same table as the register--it was located toward the rear, out of my clear view. Weighing gold should be a quick process: place it on the scale, get the weight, and return it to the customer. When my bracelet and ring were returned to me, I immediately noticed that one end of the ring appeared to have been CUT or altered. This is a traditional baby ring, and it did not have a sharp or jagged edge when I brought it in. As you can see in my photos, the other ends of the ring and bracelet are smooth and rounded, while this particular end now looks noticeably sharp and uneven. I reported my concern to the manager, Pedro, and we reviewed the store's security footage. In the footage, I observed Alicia appear to put the ring in her pocket for a short period of time before making a hand movement. Pedro told me that he believed her hand movements were part of a normal interaction with her friend. I strongly disagree with that explanation based on what I observed and the condition in which my jewelry was returned. I have since filed a report regarding the store and also filed a police report. Based on my experience, I would NOT trust this business with my jewelry. If you choose to come here for an appraisal, insist that your jewelry be weighed directly in front of you. Ask them to move the scale where you can clearly see your items at all times, and photograph your jewelry before handing it over. Protect yourself and your valuables. I wish I had never let my jewelry out of my sight.
