Gold Bloom is a locally owned jewelry store here in Healdsburg. I've heard great things and seen a few cool pieces from friends around town. I had some old gold jewelry sitting around (a few inherited pieces that weren't my style, a few pieces from my childhood, a few broken pieces, a few pieces that might not have been real gold). I brought them in to Gold Bloom. They did their thing, and a few weeks later I had cash in hand for my old gold! Boom...or should I say, Bloom?! I since brought in a black stainless steel necklace of my husband's that broke. They were able to seamlessly re-connect the necklace and make it evenly black near the break spot, so it looks like new! I'll definitely return to Gold Bloom to sell gold and repair jewelry. One of the owners, Tim, deliberately weakened the clasp on my watch, and nicked the inside workings, essentially breaking the watch. I had him change the battery in my Bulova, twice. The first time it only lasted 3 months, the second time 3 weeks. The second time I went in there my clasp worked fine but when he came out from the back, where he had changed the battery, I immediately put it back on and could feel the difference in the clasp, it was weaker. He ran to the back before I could say anything and I just walked out, hoping for the best. The WORST happened. A few days later it stopped completely. I took it to another jeweler hoping for better luck. He showed me how the clasp was weakened and fixed it for me, free of charge. Then he tried to change the battery and that's when he realized that the electronics had been nicked. I asked him if the 'nick' and the clasp problem could have been cause by changing the battery, an accident perhaps. I was emphatically told "No." Goldblum's has a very nasty way of generating business. Bottom line; I paid $70.00, (the cost of the 2 battery changes), to have that guy break my watch. My bill when I picked up the ring was $55.00. After all the money I spent over the years. I will NEVER shop there again. I am a return customer. My first project for Tim was an Aryuvedic Ring where the stone had to be touching the skin and I wanted a more buttery gold tone to the ring that i came in with a design picture. I knew Tim was going to give me the ring he was going to make and it would not look like the picture ... and it had to fit the stone which was of some size in height. I came in with some old California gold and and purchased a bit more to make it up. I was real happy with the results and the low costs beyond materials. I came back for another go for putting Grandmothers stone into a new setting for granddaughter and pass it down the family. Had to get some pre-ordered stuff out of a catalog and now he is putting it together. Time went slow on this one as the factory was not working so fast ... but I get to pick them up today. We had a terrible experience at this jeweler. My fiancé and I got our rings from one of our favorite jewelers in Portland. We needed to get them resized and due to Covid conditions I figured it would make sense to go local and get measurements taken and then get them re-engraved their after we get the rings back. This place came recommend from a family friend who has gotten multiple pieces designed at blooms, so we agreed and went there. I called upfront and had a bad feeling from the get go. The phone call was extremely unfriendly, borderline hostile, and pretty much told me that he doesn't have time for new clients before I even asked my questions. At the end of the phone call he said to just come by. I wasn't excited about it, but I figured oh well, maybe he's having a rough day. Our family friend suggested she might give him a call and considering that he knows her and likes her ($$$$) that would change it all around. But we didn't want him to be nice to us just because of that, so we just figured we would come in on a week day and just get it done. I called in the morning to make sure it was ok that we came in, his wife who answered said yes absolutely. I was a little reassured and thought maybe he had just had a bad day or something when I talked to him before. But when we came in it was the worst experience I've had at a jeweler, ever. He was with another customer, my fiancé and I weren't in a rush so we just wandered around the store - we didn't want to go and get coffee or anything as the air quality was in the unhealthy range of 230. After about 20 minutes, and after he had repeatedly looked up from his clients looking increasingly annoyed with them, he walks over to us and tells us that he's with a client (as if we didn't notice?) and that us standing there is applying a lot of pressure and if we could go for a walk and just come back later. First of all, we're in the store patiently waiting and looking at other items in the store. Second of all, did I mention the unhealthy air quality? It was incredibly rude, and it made both of us incredibly uncomfortable. It was sad to see that he would treat us like that, but we know better now. We're definitely not giving him any of our business, not the sizing, not the engraving and definitely not the wedding bands. What a pity to see an arrogant, bitter man who thinks he's better than his customers make an event that should just be happy into something annoying, especially during the current times. I like to support small, local, mom & pop businesses. I was the "pop" part of one for over 15 years. I like to think they try harder and give more personal service. My experience with Gold Bloom was extremely disappointing, to say the least. I brought a ring in to be re-sized, and was told it would be 2-3 weeks. To be polite, I said I wasn't in a hurry. Several weeks later, I went to check on it and the response was "oh...it's been that long?...time flies." A glutton for punishment, I guess, I brought in another project. A few weeks passed. Nothing. The latest promise, two weeks ago, was that everything would be done last week. Finally, I went in to pick up both rings. Twelve weeks for the first one--and not even touched the whole time. I was thinking that "pathetic" might be a polite word for the service, except that, ultimately, I never received any service. It pains me to post a review like this, and I would hope that the good reviews are more indicative of what goes on here. But twelve weeks? Twelve weeks is a l-o-n-g time. read more

2 years ago we bought an engagement ring from Gold Bloom. We paid $14,000 and were promised an appraisal for our insurance company. After calling, Fedex-ing and mailing a request I have yet to receive the appraisal. I'd take it to someone local but now I'm wondering why he wouldn't provide what he promised.
