I'm extremely afraid of heights, but skydiving has always been on my bucket list. Even though I was scared the whole time, I don't regret it at all. I felt like I accomplished something, even though I didn't really conquer my fear of heights. The process was easy, and they were so friendly and comforting throughout it all. The instructors were so amazing and passionate, I felt like I was in good hands. Personally, it was a one-time experience for me, but everyone I was with loved it so much, they want to keep going back for more. I definitely recommend this location for anyone who's feeling a little brave and adventurous.

There is no exaggeration here when saying that this is a iife-changing experience. I waited a day to write this review so that I could speak from a less emotional place and be sure I wasn't just being dramatic lol but honestly, this changed my life. Nothing can describe the feeling of dropping out of that plane into freefall for the first time, nothing to hold on to, no going back- just trusting the universe (and your instructor!) to get your feet back on the ground safely. You end up letting go of every feeling of fear and self doubt, silencing the voices in your head that tell you that you can't...and literally soaring through the air like a bird. It was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to do it again. As far as GoJump New York goes- I am so grateful that I got to experience my first skydive with this company. The genuine and authentic joy the entire team had in guiding you through the experience, from comforting the fearful to cheerleading for the overjoyed- it's not something you can fake or train someone to do. I had a gift voucher from longislandskydiving -which GOJUMP recently acquired, and yet they were nice enough to honor the value and apply it fully toward my jump package. No convincing required, just genuine customer care. I was a little nervous to hear the company had been bought out by new owners (cuz like, why- what happened- is it still as safe??) but my concerns were immediately put at ease as soon as i walked in the door. My friends were too scared to jump but they drove me out there and came to support me from the ground, and we were joking like 'welp, if this doesn't go well just know I went out with a cool story!' lol and the amazing woman at the front desk, Dani- in all seriousness and with no hesitation said 'yeah, that won't happen to you here. You're completely safe with us.' She said it so confidently that there was no more doubt from any of us that I was in good hands. She was so kind and reassuring and even gave me some amazing tips for how to make sure the pics/videos turned out how I wanted. I forgot half of the advice as soon as I started falling lol but for next time will def remember to keep my head up toward the sky during freefall so I can breathe and pose better- but none of it really mattered in the end, because the experience was so amazing regardless. Kale was my instructor, and he also made me feel so safe and reassured. I knew I could trust him completely and I never once felt like I wasn't secure during the jump. He took such good care of me. My videographer Cameron was also an absolute joy. That initial jump out of the plane was the first moment I got a little afraid for a moment, but I looked up and saw him in front of me waving and giving me a thumbs up. I immediately felt better and knew I was going to be fine. And it was so cool to watch him flying all around us like mission impossible and getting all these cool shots. The parachuting after freefall was probably the best part, Kale flew us all around the island and made sure I got to take in every moment of the view. We were the first to jump and one of the last to actually land. I could've stayed in the sky forever. Telling Dani and the other amazing front desk woman, Shelby, all about it afterwords was awesome too. They were genuinely happy and excited to hear how it went- even though they probably listen to people's stories and reactions all day long. They shared in my joy with such authenticity and warmth. When they told me to be sure to download the footage right away once I receive it- I knew it was probably because they change so many lives every day they don't even have room to store all of the videos for too long. And that's a pretty awesome kind of career to have. The entire team loves what they do, loves watching you get to fly and live out your dreams, and wants you to be happy and safe. This review is super detailed because I know I personally wanted ALL the information when I was trying to figure out where to skydive, so hopefully this helps someone reading out there to finally take the plunge and GOJUMP!

Super fun! My friend some how convinced me to join her for her 24th birthday and I'm glad she did. During our time there they prioritized our safety and comfort us individually from the moment we walked in. Everything was explained thoroughly and my tandem diver was awesome too! We joked around and he made me feel safe at all time. I would definitely recommend to this place to anyone at anytime. Great experience, great staff. 11/10

It's a bird, it's a plane, nah, it's me falling to the ground (but also a plane)!

Finally checked this one off my Bucket List! It's a bit of a cumbersome process with the 2-hour commute out here from NYC and all the paperwork, but once you get all that out of the way, it's amazing. Bonus: it's a 30-minute walk or 10-ish minute Uber from the Mastic Shirley LIRR station, which is hard to come by for skydiving centers. It's 2 tandem teams per plane, so try to go in even numbers...or not - I had a plane all to myself and ended up loving it. My tandem person was Jake - and he is AWESOME. You'll know him by the green hair. He's really energetic (and able to get you out of your bad mood when you find out you're being separated from your buddies - thanks for that one, Jake!). Be sure to ask him about his story, as it's quite an interesting one. Regarding clothing: athletic wear is probably best, whether longer shorts or yoga pants/leggings. If you can, have a little cushion on those inner thighs - the straps can rub a bit on those barrel rolls. Or, in colder months, utilize the jumpsuits. Ladies, 100% wear your most trusted sports bra - you'll be glad you did for the video. And of course, closed toed shoes and no jewelry. Regarding the video: buy it, even if it's just the video and not video + pictures. I didn't and ended up buying it after my jump. It's pricey but you'll want it for that first jump, as this is something you'll want to look back on and ask why you were so friggin' afraid. Cute idea I've been seeing - write on your hands for the video, things like "Living my best life" and "Sorry, Mom". Regarding post-jump: I don't know if it's the adrenaline rush or what, but there is a chance you will have a headache the next day (2 out of 3 of my group did). So, tons of water and take aspirin the evening after your jump and you should be good! Last but not least - be flexible during the day you jump if you can. Because there was a potential for storms, they asked us to come early (we tried and only somewhat failed). Happy flying!!!

    My first time skydiving!

Went skydiving for my first time and it was awesome!! The whole process was so easy - we booked our reservation two days before - we dived on a Saturday. When we got there they had us fill out a waiver and some other paper work - didn't take long at all. The weather was causing some delays so we ended up waiting an hour before we got to go - it's cool though because they have a ping pong table and an outdoor seating area with a corn hole game. The price was $230 for the dive and for pics/vid it was an extra $129. Shout out to the staff and my instructor Roberto - he was super friendly and awesome.

Absolutely the coolest experience of my life! I was nervous, but the staff were very nice and talkative. From the beginning they made every step and procedure clear, from signing the forms to how many hooks attached you to your instructor. My instructor , Fab , was excited and talkative which really helped my nerves. The free fall was quick and then the parachuting on the way down was beautiful, we even saw a rainbow! Although it was a bit windy the landing was safe. The instructors and staff are happy to answer any questions and ease any concerns you may have.

This was not a great OVERALL skydive experience I enjoyed the jump, what's not to enjoy, but here's why I will never jump here again. At no time did I feel unsafe..... They make you sign away your life, but hey, you're jumping out of an airplane. Get over it. WAIT A SECOND.... HOLD THE PHONE! I just remembered something.... I was NOT TANDEM ATTACHED TO MY TANDEM PARTNER until we were at jumping altitude... that means: I WAS FLYING IN THEIR DINKY PLANE WITH NO PARACHUTE !!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL ! This has to be against some law! ADD A STAR: Tandem partner Geoff. Big brawny STRONG man. What could be better. I was crunched up in the front of the plane, sitting on my ass on the floor and when we reached the right altitude, Geoff yanked my 175 lbs up and got me on my knees, would have been quite a struggle to maneuver that on my own. If I were ever to jump here again, which I WON'T, I'd insist on Geoff. DEDUCT A STAR: They did not honor my groupon deal. I had a $149 groupon, showed up, checked in, completed paper work - weather did not permit a jump. Booked for the following weekend - my groupon would have expired, but at least I got in right? WRONG. They insisted on a $50 expired coupon fee. As I see it, I was there - I redeemed my groupon, I have no control over the weather - as they don't either but there is a sign stating that in the case of poor weather conditions - RAINCHECKS WILL BE ISSUED. someone needs to look up what that means. I will be complaining to groupon about this. DEDUCT A STAR: $30 added charge at the time of reservation for tandem equipment rental. Are you f-ing kidding me? (deduct another 1/2 star - they tried to charge this TWICE after the cancellation and re-booking) deduct another - I kept getting emails about how much my credit card would be billed... $30, then $80... DEDUCT A STAR: The pre-jump video we watched had nothing to do with skydiving procedure or safety - it was about 10 minutes of the possibility that you're gonna die and then you can't sue them for anything. FINE. I understand that, I did sign the waiver and initial it 17 times. Where is my safety briefing? I asked. The girl said that everything would be explained. What was actually explained: "Put your foot here - hold here - let go when I tap you." The skydive center in CALVERTON shows you a nice informative instructional and safety video. DEDUCT A STAR: The coven of witches that run the office. OH BOY, what the hell?? nasty, rude, gumsnapping liars. I stood there for a full 2 minutes staring at them as they gave me the acrylic finger nailed one-minute signal as they discussed the horror of one of their earring wires had bent rendering the earring impossible to wear. I am putting my life in your hands. When the expired groupon was being discussed, I heard "Really, seriously, how long have you had it that you just show up now." But when I said fine, I'll pay if you throw in a t-shirt - suddenly they had the power to bargain. They also let us sit and wait for an hour or so knowing full well we weren't flying that day. GO TO CALVERTON... professional happy staff eager to assist. DEDUCT A STAR: $105 for photos - happy to pay it. Document the excitement. I still look at my photos from last year at CALVERTON, where they send a whole 'nother person out of the plane to record the jump giving you exquisite angles and views - full body, full parachute, sky, sun, plane in background... aaahhh. loved it. OH... BUT HERE... at Long Island Sky Dive for the same price, they strap a sony go-pro to your tandem partners arm. What did I get for my $105 ? about 60 shots of his hairy arm and me looking the other way. Some of the top of my head. And not ONE SINGLE SHOT THAT I WOULD CARE TO SHARE. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. what was the $100 for? I assumed there'd be another jumper...like in CALVERTON. DEDUCT A STAR: THIS IS THE PLANE? it was tiny. Volkwagon Beetle comes to mind. Can this plane fly that high? this plane accommodated 2 Tandem jumpers at a time. BUT NOT SITUATED WHERE EVERYONE GETS A PARACHUTE. Although there's no mention or photos of planes on the website, you assume things. Maybe thats why it takes so long, two-by-two. Last time 10 of us were in the plane, sitting on benches, SAFELY STRAPPED TOGETHER not squashed on the floor where the pilot asked me to watch not to hit the pedals with my feet. Hhmmm. what if a less self-controlled person were sitting here? one panic stricken spasm kick, the plane's out of control. Again, take back that first comment, now that I think of it - I felt unsafe. DEDUCT A STAR: 8,000 feet - my ass - I can read an altimeter. we were 6500 if that. The free fall was about 20 seconds and 5 min later we touched down. Very exciting- great jump but I feel short changed... hate to say it but in CALVERTON (SKYDIVE LONG ISLAND) we were 13,500 with a full 60 second or more free fall. I have the video to prove it. Yelp is cutting me off my rant must end ! GO TO CALVERTON !

What a fun bunch of guys to jump with! Damien will forever be my hero! Their greeting is: Blue Skies! I will see you guys again very soon! Until then, Blue Skies!

So me and my sister decided to go skydiving. We booked the place within a week notice (there's also another skydiving center just a block from it.) We got there at 9:30 and we were the first people for the 10AM check in. We were pretty scared when they made us sign the waiver basically saying that if we die, it's all up to us. That made it more exciting for me and her. They drove us to the site where the planes are, had a little photo/video session ($130.) Pre jumping instructions. Both me and my sister's instructors were great, they scared us and made us feel safe at the same time. Don't know how they did that. The plane accommodated 4 people, 2 sets for tandem. So when my sister jumped, my instructor followed. 10 seconds for free fall and 2 minutes just enjoying the view. My instructor also showed me how to work the parachutes, which was pretty cool! Was able to see the whole long island from up there, fire island, Connecticut, and the atlantic ocean! All in all for me it was a very chill experience! The view was priceless, and the jumping off the plane was awesome! I would do it again. Try to book yours a week early and schedule an early check in because it gets packed later the afternoon.

My companions and I were treated wonderfully from start to finish. Everybody is really nice and accommodating. They make first timers feel at ease, and explain everything multiple times, so that you'll know what to do. Our scheduled jump time had to be rescheduled, because of a nearby presidential visit and a no fly restriction after a certain hour. Skydive Danielson reached out to us the day before, and worked with us to find an earlier time that worked for us. Even though the cause of the delay was beyond their control, they took it upon themselves to find a way to accommodate everybody. The jump itself was an unforgettable experience. My instructor was excellent, and made me feel very at ease. If you're debating whether or not to spring for the photo and / or video packages, DO IT! You'll always have a really cool keepsake and proof that you're a total badass who jumps out of a perfectly good plane at 14,000 feet! What are your waiting for? Book your jump!
