Truly an amazing experience. This was my second time doing a tandem jump, both times with SkyDive the Ranch. The first time, the person I jumped with made me feel super comfortable with you know jumping out of an airplane. My wife and I loved it, but neglected to get the video mainly because I didn't understand the depth of the video service and honestly, I wasn't truly clear, my first jump was after the lost my brother. This second time, what an amazing experience, me an a group of friend went. The tandem, may it fun and super enjoyable. It felt like forever before we landed but talk about a rush. From spinning in the air during the free fall, grabbing the video persons feet and then me actually pulling the chute. The experience was amazing. Small note bring cash if you are going to tip anyone as there is no atm on site. Would also recommend having something to drink when you land or get it from the vending machine. read more

What a blast!!! Highly worth it. I recommend using better glasses though. The ones they provide mad my eyes water immediately so I couldn't see a thing until the shoot opened. The tandem jumper made us feel so comfortable and answered all of our questions. They were so laid back and put everyone at ease. The owner is always around and helping out and communicating so you know how long you'll wait and what to expect throughout the process. Great first time sky-diving experience with Skydive the Ranch! I don't have any other skydiving businesses to which I can compare the Ranch, but service was friendly from beginning to end, and everyone was very personable, which is probably a necessity with such a high-adrenaline activity. We arrived for our noon jump time and were in the plane by approximately 1:00pm. While you wait, you can watch other divers landing, grab some snacks, or watch as jumpers and tandem-instructors pack parachutes; all of which is interesting to observe for someone with no experience in this world. My tandem-instructor, Igor, was great. Dry sense of humor and not overly talkative, he told me exactly what I needed to do and what was going to happen, beginning with "today, we fall out of plane." Be sure to opt for the photos and video as well. They do significantly increase the cost of the jump (from $219, to approximately $350) but they're able to capture to some really funny moments for you to remember your experience by. I was able to get my fully edited video and photos within 20 minutes or so of landing. After landing, you get a certificate which counts towards your certification should you want to pursue it, and gives you a discount the next time you skydive with the Ranch (so be sure to take a picture of it in case you lose it). I'll definitely go back to jump the next time I'm in the area and have the opportunity to sky dive! read more

So glad I booked my first skydive with the Ranch! I was super nervous and started panicking as soon as I arrived but, everyone including my instructor Eric were so laid back and funny, they put my nerves at ease! I had a very hands on experience with Eric! We did a backflip out of the plane and he tried to get me to pull the parachute (I forgot if I actually did because my hands were holding on to my harness for dear life!). Eric also allowed me to navigate the parachute and do a few turns. Definitely communicate this with your instructor before hand if you want to get the most out of your first jump. If it's your first time, add the video! You most likely won't look cute in any of the pictures or video but it's worth it. I have some amazing photos to look back on thanks to Big Jim! read more

Please allow me to break it down to you like this: if you haven't yet attempted skydiving, do yourself a favor and call these guys up...NOW!!! By far, this is one of the coolest, most fun and most rewarding things you can do in your lifetime, so stop talking about it and make it happen! For someone who is petrified of heights, at no time did I feel uncomfortable nor fearful during the whole process. My tandem master - John Kieran - was professional, informative and incredibly entertaining as well. He walked me through the procedures and made sure that I had the time of my life. Igor handled the videography (highly recommended - remember, you only make your first jump once!), which produced a killer video and some fine photos (see my profile pic). During the descent, John allowed me to steer the parachute and do some sharp turns, as well as ensure that we landed on our feet (often times, folks will come in sliding on their rear-ends for safety purposes). I was immediately ready to get back on the plane and do it all over again. From the time you get to The Ranch to the time you leave, the entire experience and all of the staff members you encounter make for a memorable time. My boyfriend decided he wanted to skydive for his birthday. Everything I read online and recommendations from friends left no doubt that we were heading to Skydive the Ranch. They ran like a well oiled machine and you can tell they all had a ton of fun and experience skydiving and taking anyone from experienced divers to scared first timers. I had an amazing first dive experience. My instructor was Steve "Utah" and my video guy was Lassie. "Utah" made me feel very secured and I had a lot of fun diving with him. Since it was my first time, I was naturally nervous and anxious but right after I arrived, things moved very quickly. I quickly watched a video of what to expect, sign the waivers, paid and was sent to get my gear on. I met "Utah" then and right off the bat he told me to not worry and right after I did my intro video clip, I was whisked away to the plane. During the plane ride, "Utah" was very professional and told me what to expect throughout and would talk to me through everything I was doing. Again, I felt incredibly safe with him and when we were 16,000 feet above the ground, we were ready to take off. The dive was an amazing experience and the parachute part was the most calm I've ever felt in my life. Fly baby fly! I've done 2 jumps with STR and it's one of the greatest experiences EVER. Your adrenaline is pumping from the moment you arrive and the excitement is in the air. After watching the instructional video and signing your life away you suit up (cooler than Barney Stinson bcz it's neon) and go over the essentials with your tandem instructor. For my first jump I did the pic & vid package but skipped it for the second. This summer I'll be camping out there for a weekend so I can become certified to jump on my own. I've noticed it's better to jump in middle of summer on a super hot day with no moisture in the air. I say this bcz during my last jump it was chilly and moist and during the freefall it felt as though water was going up my nose (I LOATHE that sensation). Did my first jump there over the weekend. I had soooo much fun! DO IT! You won't regret it. The initial jump out of the plane happened so fast, so you won't even notice your fear. Plus you have the instructor strapped on your back..he will get-you-out-of-the-plane-one-way-or-another. Tips: - If you are jumping on a hot summer day, just wear something comfortable, like your gym outfit. It does get a bit cold up there so don't go with tank top or shorts. But a t-shirt and crops would work. - Bring a bottle of water (or they sell them there), you need to be hydrated right before going on the plane. - Get the video package if it is your first time. I know it is pricy, but if you are already spending $200+ on the jump, what is another $119 going to matter. - Smile, enjoy the ride, and SCREAM (it helps). - Tell your instructor if you want to do more tricks or let him control the ride. They do everything possible to make you feel at ease. - Schedule for a late jump (4pm or later) if you plan to stick around afterwards, they have bonfires and free beer. I did my first jump with Denes and my friend got Batman. Both instructors were friendly and patient with us. This review is directed at the instructors and videographers at this facility. I had Steve "Utah" Webbz (Tandem Master) as my instructor and Laci Andacs as my videographer. When I first met Utah - I though he was like a crazy uncle with a bit of a screw loose but he was the most confident, reassuring, and pleasant instructor I could have asked for. He walks you through each step of the process and I felt 100 percent safe and secure the entire time. When you arrive, you check in the front with your signed waivers and pay. They will ask if you want to add a video/pictures. (I highly recommend this) You check in with the "guy with the clipboard" who will make sure you watch the safety video, get a run down by their staff, and assigns you into the schedule of flights. This process is a bit chaotic and I did not get to fly with my entire group but this was in order to allow as many people to get the video as possible. You get harnessed in the main area then your group walks to the tent where your harness gets tightened. You get clipped into your Tandem Master in the plane. The entire time, Utah explained what was going on and what he was doing. I also had a GoPro chest mount and he adjusted it to make sure the pics/video I was getting were the best and adjusted it throughout the skydive. Once at altitude, things go by pretty fast as you walk to the door hold onto the shoulder straps and leave the plane! Keep your head up and enjoy the ride - Remember to breathe as all that air rushes past you! The scenery is amazing and I hear you can see the NY skyline on clear/non hazy days. The views of the mountains I had were stunning as well. Landing was soft and I'm pretty sure I didn't even touch the ground. I jumped up and exclaimed wanted to do it again! I got my video/picture DVD within 30 minutes of landing and they let you try it out in the gift store to make sure it works. The facility is nice with plenty of seating to watch everyone land in either shade or sun. Bathrooms were clean and there were plenty of them. There is a gift shop on the second level. You get a certificate you completed the jump as well as bumper sticker. Timing: We were scheduled for an 11:00am jump. (Get there 30 minutes early) We were done with videos in our hand by 1:00/1:15 Super fun day - Highly recommended! read more

I must admit I had my reservations when my son declared he wanted to try skydiving. Although I was just an observer, I could not have been more delighted with the entire Skydive the Ranch experience. They put both my son and I at ease (well ok, put me at ease, he was already good with the whole thing), and gave clear, answered all of our questions, great instructions to my son on what to do (and as importantly, what not to do). The instructor was absolutely top notch in every regard. My son's tandem jump was apparently the experience of a lifetime, and he's even got me interested in going along on his next jump. As a former pilot, I'd never jump out of a perfectly good airplane, but these guys have me re-thinking that.
