The Veggie platter is the first delicious vegetarian thing I've ever eaten in my life. I first tried it in Los Angeles California and was enthralled after my first bite. I am so happy Winnipeg has Ethiopean food! The veggie platter has piles of vegetable mush with different combinations and spices. It comes on a circle of bread. The bread is spongy and soft and addictively tasty! You take a piece of bread and spoon some vegetables into it and then plop all of that into your mouth. It's fun to eat with your hands. It's just so natural. If you like vegetables and bread, I highly recommend this meal! The restaurant was nice, it has a traditional decoration theme and it is spacious. The best customer service I've ever received. I usually go out for Ethiopian food with my friends and I just got my family to try it about a year or so ago. This was the first place I brought my mom back in 2015 and the service and food was phenomenal! We've tried a couple places since then but no other restaurant has had the degree of good customer service that we have received here. A good example of this would be: a couple weeks ago, my younger brother finally was willing to try Ethiopian food for the first time. I'm the person in my family that usually orders for them because they don't know what they want but I had no idea what to get my brother because he HATES PEAS AND LENTILS. So the lady who served us suggested him their Doro Wat (which is a Chicken stew cooked with berbere or turmeric, onions & garlic also it comes with their house salad on injera with injera and their Ethiopian butter) then after we got our dishes she also showed him how to eat injera (she was soooo so so sweet) :) my brother LOVED his dish! She made it such a good experience for him and I'm so thankful for that because I love Ethiopian food and I'm really happy that I can eat it with my whole family now. Also everything is made fresh in house everyday, their injera, lentils, GOAT CHEESE, coffee (fresh beans)! The quality of food their is AMAZING and the people who work their are very friendly! I highly recommend this place for people who are trying for the first time or to bring your friends/family! (Warning: since it is made in house it can take a little bit for some dishes to come out, I've NEVER experienced this yet but I know it can happen so make sure you get something to do while you wait!
