He pays attention to getting all the spider webs down, vacs and then cleans the floor on his hands and knees. Bathrooms and kitchen are sparkling. He makes time to occasionally do windows and extra things as time permits. If you pick up the house first, get the dishes out to the sink, etc, he can wipe off surfaces quicker and do more work. He schedules a longer extra cleaning when he needs to do extra work (tile grout cleaning, lots of windows, etc) which for us is about once or twice a year. I have lots of bugs, webs, and dog hair in the house and he always gets it clean. If I have an area that needs a bit of extra cleaning, I leave a note. But expect that if he cleans every two weeks, he can't do a lot of extra work for you, as he keeps right on his schedule. I have never been disappointed with his work. If you are able to have Jeff come on a weekly or biweekly basis, he can keep on top of keeping your house clean, and do extra cleaning projects when you are on vacation. If you try and skip months, etc, he may have to start over to get your place back in shape. He is very busy and has a list of clients. If you respect his time and effort, he will respect yours. If you are out to get a cheap deal, he is not the one for you. His prices are fair as a professional with insurance, equipment and supplies, and someone you can talk with who understands the value of your home contents and will not wreck things using the wrong cleaning supplies or techniques. Do you need detail dusting , have lots of knicknacks, laundry, dishes, bed making? Then get a housekeeping service instead. But if you need someone to do the major cleaning you do not have time or energy for, Jeff is the one you want. Jeff does the big stuff fast: floor, ceilings, bathrooms, stove, kitchen, etc. Perfect for a working person or for a retired person that does not have the time or the physical energy to do the big stuff with big vacs, bug vacs, mops, etc. Jeff uses cleaning solutions he makes that are healthier, and uses only cotton cleaning towels. NO toxic stuff. He has a three generation family business in cleaning the finest homes in North County. If you are working at home, he will work around you efficiently. He gets along with family pets, and as a family oriented guy, he is trustworthy around your family and very respectful of elders. He does not play music, smoke, or swear, and has family friendly, old fashioned, very solid values. He is extremely trusted by his long term clients. Jeff is HONEST and you can trust that he will not take anything. I trust him completely as do other older clients in our neighborhood. He routinely cleans when I am not home. He has had his family business for years and does not send over a crew. Very professional.

Do Not Use Tom McBride or McBride Cleaning! Earlier in August, McBride gave us a quote for cleaning…read moreall the windows and screens in our relatively large home. We scheduled the work for Saturday, September 5th. On August 24th, we contacted him and told him that we needed to change the date. He texted me back that he would schedule it for September 3rd at 8 am. I confirmed the September 3rd date on two more texts. On the evening of September 2nd, per his instructions, we moved all furniture away from the windows throughout our home. When McBride did not show up on 9/3/2020, I texted him. He said that I was scheduled for October 3rd. I said that he was incorrect and he should review the texts. He then said that there was a problem with his computer scheduling and that was responsible for the mix-up. I pointed out that it was a personal text from him, not his computer system. He said no problem, and he was sure that I could find another window cleaner. All he had to do was to apologize for telling me the wrong month and for our inconvenience and ask me how to make it up to me. Instead, he lied and took a cavalier attitude, ignoring the inconvenience that he caused us. I suggest that everyone avoid Tom McBride and McBride Cleaning.

He was very pushy and so into himself that I had a difficult time getting him to listen so I could ask questions. He finally hung up on me. I'm looking for a licensed contractor to correct the shoddy work of another licensed contractor. Consequently I'm working from the basis of an expensive hard earned lesson. So I wanted it clear I have my requirements and want assurance they will be met. Joel refused to listen, wanted to argue, tell me what to think, told me I should instead hire a handyman (and that my previous licensed contractor was just a handyman). Then he hung up on me. Oh, I did finally get out of him in answer to my question, that Greenlight Building Services has a $500 minimum. My conclusion from this phone call is this company is pushy, will not listen, and therefore cannot be trusted.
