Dr. Goines and her staff are amazing! She is great at focusing on your individual healthcare and not a one size fits all approach. I highly recommend her if you're looking for an alternative medicine professional that can help you move the needle. read more

Go to a real MD for treatment. Don't waste your money. Weird office environment as well.

Sandra Goines, D.O, her husband, Shawn, their M.A., Mike, and front office staff, Aracleli have literally the best doctor's office I have been to (I have been there twice so far, and will return next week) and I have been to may doctors's offices. I actually drive 1/5 hours from LA in traffic to see them. The are all kind and attentive, and take all the time I need to do amazing work, and answer all questions. The vibe in the office is Hawaiian with gentle Hawaiin music and I was completely relaxed. They are Noka Oi (Hawaiian for number one) in my experience. I had a miracle healing there last night, and am so happy. read more

Goines Sandra - Family Practice Near Me - Los Alamitos, California

My mom gets pellets and it changed her life she loves how is changed her life and took away her hot flashes. She also loves Dr. Goines

Friendly, polite, great bedside manner. Listens! Dr. Goines has been our family doctor since 2003.

Ditto to all the post that say the doctor is very caring, knowledgeable and takes her time with you. But, you have to deal with her rude/curt office staff to get to her. It makes me not call her anymore. I need to switch because it is a barrier to my well being. I just called about a rash and no luck. Julie read more

Can't tell you enough how horrible my experience has been here. The Doctor is nice but the staff is horrible. Worst follow through and you can never get them to answer the phone. Always goes to a message center. No follow up. Changing doctors immediately for my kids and I. Not a place to EVER call if you are deathly ill and need to be seen that day either. They will tell you they are full for a week and the doctor is always out of town and doesn't have an assistant. Stay clear. read more

My insurance company assigned Dr. Goines. My experience isn't horrible, per se, just deeply disappointing. I called this afternoon around 1pm to schedule my first appointment to see Dr. Goines. The phone rang for a while then ran me through an automated system asking me to wait for someone to answer. After about 7 minutes someone answered. I explained I was calling to make an appointment and that I'm a new patient preassigned to her. I was then informed I needed to call back to make my appointment, they were just the answering service. The staff would be available after 1:30pm when they return from lunch. Ok, not actually terrible, but a little odd. I'm just not accustomed to the staff leaving completely. So, I called again at 2pm, but it went straight to voice mail. I called a second time a bit later, again to voice mail. I called a third time a bit later and someone answered, but asked me to hold. I put the phone on speaker and laid the handset down preparing to wait. 5m34s later (according to my phone) a woman asked how she could help. I explained I was calling to make an appointment, that I was assigned to Dr. Goines and needed to have my first visit. There's a reason for my visit, but I didn't get into it because I was then informed that the next available appointment for a new patient would be September. It's the 6th of August. The woman on the phone suggested I contact my insurance company and switch doctors. She continued on by telling me I wouldn't be able to see Dr. Goines until the end of September. While I appreciated her candor, I was greatly annoyed that she is listed as taking new patients but yet clearly doesn't have any available time for them if a new patient has to wait almost 2 months to be seen. Never mind what my issue was, I never had the opportunity to explain that part. Tonight I am going through my insurance company's website to find a new doctor, one that really is taking new patients. read more

By far the best doctor and medical practice ever. Dr. Goines is extremely thorough in treating her patients. Our family has been going to see her for years and won't see other doctors. She makes sure to treat patients as people, not a diagnosis or just a number. Her staff is a caring, friendly and professional as she is. I would never take medical advice from any other doctor unless I check it with her. read more

I had an appointment with Dr Goines today at 2:30. I was impressed with the calming art on the walls (the surf photos are my fav) The office was candle lit and relaxing. The receptionist was attentive and quickly got me in to see the Dr. I was pleased with how I was listened to and understood regarding all my needs and wants. I never felt rushed. She took her time through the whole appointment to make sure I was satisfied and happy with the outcome (and I was !!) Thank you ! I will be back- Charles C read more

Bad staff. The doctors were okay. If u need to be seen that day, it wont happen you will be forced to go to urgent care. Also ylthey wont return any of ur messages. I just switched my primary today because witthin a month they completely lost me as a patient. Do yourself a favor and avoid this office. I really wanted to write a positive review when i started going but its just not possible. After ur first visit it goes bad read more

Do not go here! The Dr is great, but her or her staffs follow-through is terrible. I've left several messages before and have to baby-sit it over and over until I get a call, if I ever get a call. They say they will fax orders and don't. I needed to talk to the Dr about my mom, and they refused saying it would take "days" for her to call me back. They were right. It took a week. If you want a Dr that you can get ahold of and get a partnership going with, this is not the place. read more

My 74 year old mother just called me in tears because of the way an office member treated her today on the phone. My mother is one of the most caring, sweetest ladies you could ever meet and to know that a person who works with the public treated her in such a way is extremely upsetting. Thankfully my mother has already made the necessary changes to go to a completely different provider of care who will treat her with kindness and respect. I wish we had made this change long ago. If you are reading this and are looking for a new doctor please, please consider going elsewhere. Wish I could have given this office zero stars! read more

I have seen Dr. Gaines for the past several years and she is amazing. She helped diagnose my issues and cares a lot about her patients. All good doctors have a big patient load and long awaits. That's because everyone likes them and they spend quality time with each patient. Her staff is very kind and this office has taken care of me wonderfully. My mom recently changed over too! read more

I have been a patient of Dr Sandra Goines for upwards to 6 years, seeing her on a monthly basis. I was in a position where I was randomly selecting a Dr from a giant HMO list. Somehow, I lucked out! I have never had such a phenomenal, dedicated, efficient, and genuinely compassionate doctor in my life. If you are overwhelmed by a long list of Dr's covered by your insurance, DR GOINES IS THE CHOICE TO PICK! I don't know what the prior individual was refering to; however I have always had outstanding care from every individual on her staff. We are all on a first name basis, so I don't feel like I'm just one in hundreds... they know about me as an individual too. Again I am treated with kindness and sincerity at all times. They go out of their way to ensure paperwork is promptly processed as well as faxes completed in a very timely manner. Every call I make (during business hours) is addressed immediately or I am called back within the day. I'm grateful to have found such an amazing doctor and I thank them for all the help they provide me. And I love those phone reminders too. That's just going above & beyond. So thank you all. -Brooklyn read more

I wish I had the option to give not even one star, but I will look past that. I cannot tell you the terrible experiences I have had being a patient of Dr. Goines. The first time I saw her, I was pleasantly surprised by how kind and compassionate she appeared to be. She listened to my history and complaints and seemed genuinely concerned to help. A year later, I have not been able to see her again, only seeing the fellows( doctors in training) working in her office. Each one has been even worse than the first. I have a history of addiction and Hepatitis C. As a healthcare professional myself( RN) I have seen first hand how addicts are treated, but I felt it was important to let the doctor know my history, to be honest about my past. BAD IDEA!!!! I have been clean and sober for over a decade and have never asked for pain medication or anything that would be inappropriate. I have a history of high blood pressure and on a past visit with Dr. Kiss ( a fellow) in the office, she stated to me after my blood pressure was taken and very high," There are tons of people walking around fine with a blood pressure that high." Wow! My Dad had a Heart attack at 46 and I even reminded Dr. Kiss about this and asked if my current blood pressure medication should be increased or changed. I was told no, that was not going to happen and left with a prescription for Tamulosin( a medication used for prostate problems in men) for Overactive Bladder. Back 6 months later hoping to see Dr. Goines like I was told would happen, but instead get Dr. Sarkasian, another fellow. I was there after I had been experiencing pain and numbness in my right arm and shoulder. I was in such pain, I was in tears. Instead of getting the care I needed, I was given the third degree and played 20 questions on how I got Hepatitis C. I calmly explained that it was due to a needle stick at work several years. I felt like I was being interrogated for a crime. I understand needing to get a history of illness, but these were questions that were not even pertinent to the situation now or 20 years ago when I was stuck. She never discussed medication/treatment with me, but instead left the room for what I was told to write for a referral. Came back in with a prescription for opiate pain medication and when I told her that I preferred not to take any pain medication of that class at this time, she left the room in a huff. At that time, the nurse came in and took my blood pressure again. My blood pressure had been quite high when I came in, most likely due to the horrible pain I was in. I had my blood pressure under control by this time on my own and it had not been that high in months. Even the nurse commented on how scary high it was and that I needed a change in meds or to have my pain adequately controlled. Finally after going back and forth with Dr. Sarkasian regarding medication, she gave me a steroid, but refused any type of muscle relaxer. I had not had any sleep in over a week and explained to her how badly the muscles in my neck and shoulder were hurting and that because I homeschool one of my kids, it was important that I get some sleep. You would have thought I asked for a prescription for Heroin. She flat out said no and turned around and walked out of the room. It was at that time, I just grabbed my things and stormed out. I know my review is long, but if you have a history of addiction, Hepatitis C, or HIV, please stay away. I now have to go through the process of finding another doctor and I guess I will have to just lie about my past and put my health at risk. I have been dealing with stigma and discrimination from doctors and other healthcare professionals for years because of my past and I am so tired of being persecuted by those who chose a profession to help people, not be the judge them and continue to feed the stigma attached to these issues. If you think that addiction and drug use does not affect those who are doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you are sadly mistaken. If you want good care and to be treated in a caring and compassionate way, avoid Dr. Goines and those she trains. Thanks for taking the time to read this... read more

Dr. Goines is a caring and generous doctor who delivers results! After overhearing my complaint to a friend about my constant lower back pain and my limitations because of it, she offered to take a look at my MRI and other reports. I emailed everything to her and she got back to me in a couple of days. She said she thought she could help me with a procedure called prolotherapy. She explained to me what the procedure was, its history and use, and I made an appt for an office visit when her colleague Dr. Shawn Tierney (chiro) was present. They are an amazing team. They used an ultrasound to be precise with the procedure. During a busy holiday season, her office was able to schedule 3 appts for me and the drive from West Los Angeles was well worth it! Prolotherapy is just one type of service she offers. She is a Doctor of Osteopathy which means she is all about prevention and wellness! read more

I have been going to Dr. Goines for 15+ years and love her! I have never met a more caring, compassionate doctor who takes the time to patiently listen to your concerns in order to recommend the best possible care. Know that if you do have to wait to see her, it's worth it. She is going to give you the same time and consideration she gives all of her patients. BTW...I never had to wait more that 15 minutes in over 15 years and not more than 5 minutes in the last 5-6 years. Her approach, a combination of western and holistic medicine is fabulous. She is also big on prevention and is an excellent resource in recommending things you can do to avoid doctor visits except for routine check ups. She is also ramping up her skin care treatments, which if you haven't tried or didn't know about, ask. She recently did one on me and I got better results than at a dermatologist/plastic surgeons office. I moved out of state six years ago and fly back to CA to see her and keep her as my primary doctor. My husband has also started seeing her and is very impressed with her knowledge and passion for what she does. I don't normally write reviews, especially when I'm happy about a service (shame on me), but I felt compelled after seeing the negative ones that aren't even about Dr. Goines, dragging her down. My belief is, if you are fortunate enough to find a doctor you love, stick with them. Staff will always come and go, it's just the way of the world but your doctor is the one that matters most; as many good doctors can run you through their mills, great doctors will walk with you through the miles on a path to better health. read more

This is the worst office ever. I have personally never seen dr. Goines if that what you want to call her. They take 2 hour lunches. Courteous staff. Easy to get appointment. Caring, attentive doctor. Moderate wait time for new patient intake.

I used to love her when I first started seeing her a few years ago that I got my whole family to see her as our primary doctor. It wasn't until last year that I finally got my husband seen by her for all his chronic pain. I basically had to tell her to order tests and to put on work restrictions. I guess, in her medical opinion, it's okay for my husband to continue on working 8-10 hours of heavy lifting that her only solution is physical therapy or paying $500 a treatment that she and her husband do together. She refused to make changes on a disability form after we paid her and she said it was fraudulent. I asked my lawyer and he said that it was not fraudulent to make changes if she did have all the information at the time of filling out the form. Doctors are supposed to be advocate for their patients but she really did not do anything for my husband. We finally changed doctors. If you are healthy, she's a good doctor. It's also hard to get an appointment with her since she only works 3 x a week and you see her interns instead. Some of her staff are nice like Lydia but one of them is not really friendly. read more

I'm reviewing this with mixed feelings, so here goes: Our daughter was referred to Dr. Goines by a very well-respected sports Dr./therapist and we were very excited to initially see Dr. Goines for consult and treatment. When I first called the office to schedule the appt., I left a message and was contacted 3 days later to book the appt. We drove to the appt.(40mi from our house)and were 5 minutes early. We introduced ourselves, signed in and took a seat to complete the paperwork. We turned in the paperwork and were then told that all services were to paid for with cash or credit card....no checks are accepted. I thought this to be a little weird and explained that I was planning on paying with a ck. The staff behind the desk whispered to one another, then one left to the back of the office for a few minutes and then announced the Dr. would make an exception. Not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling here. I mentioned we were on time for our appt......and they made us wait for an hour!!! We almost walked out. When Dr. Goines finally saw us, she's actually very pleasant and seems to know what she's doing but I couldn't get past the coldness and rude demeanor of the front office staff. My daughter felt very uncomfortable also and asked me to search for someone else. When calling the office to cancel the follow-up appt. we had, the staff I spoke to was very curt and practically hung up on me. I'm thankful that we have found another Dr. that is closer to where we live and has a very professional front office staff; all of our questions have been addressed up front and we were made to feel valued as patients. Prolotherapy is NOT cheap, and we're paying out of pocket.....you should feel valued as a patient by the entire office. Also, Dr. Goines only does prolotherapy treatments twice a week. The new Dr. we're seeing does this therapy 6 days a week and the scheduling is much easier. Maybe this will encourage Dr. Goines to re-vamp their schedule and their staffing? read more

Horrible. My first appointment as a new patient, was a consultation with Dr Goines. To my surprise, on my return visit, the real Dr Goines introduced herself. She explained that my first visit was with Dr Pandi. After we cleared that, Dr Goines told me that my blood work showed that I was prediabetic and told me to retest in three months. Upon returning home with the news, I called the office and spoke to a Nurse asking for a immediate retest. Explaining my concern that there is a significant discrepancy on scores from home testing. Nurse, said no. I called again, and they put me on the phone with some other Doctor, same answer, no. I called Blue Shield an explained why I wanted to retest and dishearten that Dr Goines office just flat out said, no. Blue Shield Representative was wildly surprised, stating that my insurance coverage allowed unlimited requests for blood work. Blue Shield then made a call to Dr Goines office and they told Blue Shield, if I want a retest, Dr Goines will write out a blood work request to Labcorp, but I would have to pay out of pocket for it. So, although I have insurance, Dr Goines is making her point not to allow me to retest, without sticking it to me. This is unethical. read more

At 51 years old I can honestly say I have never been to a physician as kind and knowledgeable as Dr. GOINES. She has been so wonderful. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and other complex pain issues. She has helped me tremendously. Very few if any doctors take the time she does with her patients. She looks at the issues a a whole body approach and thinks outside of the box. I never feel rushed and always leave knowing she actually cares for me as a person and wants me to be well. I have been doing prolotherapy with her partner and the outcome is amazing. They address the whole person including nutrition, what's going on in your life everything relevant to your life and well being. Side note; sometimes can be hard to get an appointment but we'll worth the wait. This is a physician you have for life, Trust me on that! read more
