Coach Ashley in the morning was fun and led us in a good warmup before proceeding with the WOD which was clearly written on one of the TV monitors. I loved being able to get a good (and challenging) workout and also engaging with a lot of the local athletes. Everyone was welcoming and it was fun to crush a pretty advanced WOD. Although I would argue that the 400m run around the gym is a bit longer than 400, I can't be too upset at working my body up just a bit more. Thanks TTL for the great drop-in experience. I just felt like we were too close to one another and it made me uncomfortable. Since I felt too close I wasn't able to comfortably do the movements correctly; I just felt like I would kick them or hit them. However, I do like it when it's just me in the room. A academia tem uma ótima estrutura e equipamente de qualidade, e os workouts/coachs são excelentes, sempre auxiliando nos movimentos e incentivando sua evolução. Além disso, como nossa mudança ocorreu por motivos de trabalho, viemos sem nossa familia e sem conhecer muitas pessoas (um grande desafio de adaptação). He has a huge sense of joy and care for helping you heal. He's always sending you positive energy, whether through encouragement, compliments, or simply sharing something he thinks might benefit you. And Kim has helped me navigate how to show up for work, my family, and to just remember to breathe. They are both always encouraging me to level up--level up my discipline, my diet, my self-love. That's a big deal. A lot of what Radiance offers is unconventional. But that's part of the magic--it's a great opportunity to get out of your head, be playful, and learn how to stop judging yourself. And the techniques seriously relieve pain. The cupping techniques Dey and Kim taught me are a get out of jail free card for when I'm really flared up and the movement flows have been great for tracking how my body is feeling on any given day. Radiance runs really amazing sessions that include movement and breathwork. I haven't seen many people blend the physical with the emotional the way they do. The approach has really helped me get in touch with my anger and self-doubt and express them in healthy ways. Dey is very receptive to feedback--I've been suffering with chronic back pain for almost a decade and have had difficult conversations with Dey about what was working or not for my recovery. Definitely worth connecting with them if you in any way are seeking healing or some sort of expansion. Last time I was there Dey facilitated a breath work class that was unlike most other classes I've tried of this sort. His talk on the importance of breath was inspiring and was a great segue into the actual practice. As we got more and more into it, you felt the energy in the whole room shift as he took us through a protocol to down-regulate our nervous system and reach a state of peace and restoration. All of a sudden you could feel the connection to everyone around you, let alone a deeper connection to yourself. Unlike more vigorous breath work practices, this one seemed gentle yet still potent and suitable for all ages.
