As I drove the entire length of Highway 70 from Arizona to the Atlantic Ocean, I researched all the food stops ahead of time. It's a worthy stop according to online, crowd-sourced reviews with very high expectations! And if The Bean in Auburn, Alabama, is my gold standard with a five-star cinnamon roll, then Gogo's is surely a solid 4.5! It ranks right up there with the best of them! The icing is what's superior here, the perfect consistency, sweet but not overly sugary, rich and complex with flavor without being overpowering, and the perfect topping for these rolls. Stopped here on the way home from Asheville, because I had heard great things! They have a wide variety of cinnamon rolls. They even have two speciality ones a week. I ordered one of each flavor because I was going to take them to the office. I tried the birthday cake one and another one. They were very delicious. They had lots of icing and were soft. They have a drive through where you go through and place your order. It was very quick and efficient. Overall it was a fun experience. This place has been on my list forever. So glad I got to try it this past weekend. When I looked online, he kept recommending me to order online and pick up at the store. So glad I did that. I have been hearing a lot of them sold out and when I arrived around noon on Saturday, I found that to be true. If you're OK to wing it, I'm sure you could probably find a large size, but honestly I would not chance that. Plus, ordering online was so easy. They texted a confirmation and it was all ready. However, it's a cinnamon roll and it delivers. The pizza rolls are a fun savory snack that could be taken in a pack for a snack or lunch if you are going to go mountain biking at the gateway trails. On our way out of Asheville to the top of Mt. Mitchell we happened to pass by Gogo's - I was on the lookout for a coffee place, and really hit the jackpot! It's out front of a supermarket (when we were there, an old-time revival was happening in the parking lot). Upon entering, the decor was very pleasing; white paint, wood accents, big glass counter with cinnamon buns ... and a 'living room' with a fireplace, tables and chairs, and a praise/pray wall.
