I am so glad I tried Poppy's out. From the moment I got out of my car I could smell the fresh baked goodies. One word.....heavenly. The lady working was so patient with me after I told her this was my first visit. Everything looked so delicious. I chose an assortment or cinnamon rolls, raspberry filled donuts, cheese danish and cherry cream Cheese danish. When I say this was the best danish Ive ever had I mean it! The danishes almost had a brûléed texture. One bite into that initial crunch then sweet, pillowy dough. My heavens...I'll be going there plenty. The establishment is in the downtown part of Lawrenceburg. There's on the street parking that's free ( no parking meters.) The bakery/delicatessen is immaculate as far as cleanliness. There is ample seating in a comfortable atmosphere. The offerings are soup and sandwiches, salads and desserts. The staff was extremely friendly and outgoing. The clientele today was several groups celebrating Christmas. I had a spicy Italian hoagie sandwich that was wonderful. My friend had a panini that he said was enjoyable. It's a great place if you're in Central Kentucky.
