I had been on a long two year road of several needed surgeries that had caused nerve damage to my pelvic area. I had a hypertonic pelvis due to the stress and all my pain. I ended up seeing a doctor in Chicago that recommended Terri who she felt was the best therapist in Fort Wayne. I had been to Steppin up for a few weeks when I was referred by my Dr here in town but they really didn't do much for me. The knowledge at Steppin Up just wasn't there. Steppin Up versus Healthy Expectations was night and day! On the first day I met Terri, I really couldn't do much of anything . Sitting and walking was hard to do. I just felt terrible and very depressed. Over time she taught me skills on how to release and stretch my hips and pelvic area. Calm my flared nerves that caused me so much pain. Terri taught me ways to breath to relax my tense muscles. I stayed dedicated to seeing Terri twice a week along with my Dr in Chicago. I did all the homework Terri gave me to do and listened to her calm words of advice. After seeing Terri for almost a year, I am almost pain free. I have started doing things I used to enjoy and slowly feel my life is returning back to normal. It's so important to have a good physical therapist that understands the process of healing, patience that is needed to fully heal and pushes you. Dealing with pelvic issues and nerve damage isn't fun or a topic you want to share with the world. I want to share how important it is to take action if you feel something is wrong. Told me I needed inserts, was immediately annoyed when I said I wasn't going to buy them, I'd go get properly fitted somewhere. The "massage" offered in the deal was accomplished by hitting my back with a massage gun for 3 minutes. Manual manipulation on my neck that made me feel woozy and sent pain into my arm I've now been dealing with off and on since, including requiring multiple bouts of physical therapy. I haven't and NEVER will return to this office.​
