I have been here twice and have not been disappointed! I highly recommend!!!!!!!! 10/10 - the greens and Mac and cheese were very delicious!

Ate here for the first time. The place is the best decorated restaurant in the whole city. Awesome job on the setting, lighting and cleanliness. The food is awesome! Started out with an appetizer order of jerk chicken spring rolls- a really tasty fusion of Asian and Jamaican delight with a nice sweet dipping sauce. Main course: I had jerk chicken (your choice of white, dark or mixed). Not too spicy, but with a tasty jerk gravy and u can order sides of both scotch bonnet sauce and more jerk gravy, highly recommend! The chicken was soo tender and tasty, a few small bones with jerk chicken can be expected bcuz it's slow cooked to perfection for 5 hours daily, so take ur time and savor the flavor. The rice and beans was a grrreat flavorful pairing. I don't normally eat greens but these were tasty, mild and well cooked. The cornbread was some of the best I've ever eaten, fluffy and delicious with a bit of toasted coconut on top. My main course totaled right under $20, and my family split the appetizer. The main course was more than enough food for me. This is the best restaurant hands down in Pearl, both decor and food quality. You will be more than surprised when you enter the building! The owner Godfrey is a wonderful host/chef, so very polite, welcoming and friendly! Such a pleasure meeting a talented chef, whose owned restaurants in the Carribean aswell. The place is so clean, especially the bathrooms aswell, I highly recommend everyone come try the great food at Godfrey's, it's at the corner of highway 80 and highway 49 Pearl/Flowood, just passed the Sutherland's building a bit. My wife and I ate at Godfrey's 2 nights ago on a Tuesday. The Caribbean menu is interesting and the jerk chicken tacos were pretty good but a little under seasoned for me. There were a couple of snafus with the wine due to inexperienced server. I had the impression that the location was newly opened and still tuning up. I recommend it. read more

Food ok, nothing to write home about. Food came so fast and it wasn't as warm as it should have been.

I wish I could leave a zero star. I called prior to coming asking if they could accommodate a party of 20 people. They stated they can not take reservations over the phone, however they could accommodate us as long as we are fine with not sitting together which we agreed to not sit together. We made it, waited 55 minutes before being seated. We all sat at 4 seated tables. We placed our food order. 1 hour later they stated they are out of our food. We wait a whole hour for them to not have our food. No notice of them being out of our food. Horrible service!! My 3 year old twins never received their food. They literally went to bed hungry because of the bad service!! read more

I don't leave reviews when it comes to restaurants because I know how it is to work in one, but I had to for this experience. We had made reservations for a party of 25 people Saturday night that was made almost 2 and half weeks ago. When we arrived around 10 minutes before our reservation, we waited for about 5 minutes before we could speak with the hostess because there was a lady at the counter that was apparently having issues. We weren't seated until around 45 minutes after the scheduled reservation. Not even 15 minutes after we sat down, the musician was packing up and leaving. I asked if we were going to be charged the live music fee since the musician was leaving to which we were informed "no". Once we were seated, there was only really one server that was tasked with waiting on our table. Once we started ordering our food, we were informed that they were out of half the sides that were on the menu and cornbread. All they had left were yeast rolls and toast. For the prices that they are charging for food and having you make reservations, I feel that they should have been well stocked and had more help scheduled especially on a Saturday. However, we still rocked on. One person in our party never received his food. They actually closed the kitchen down while knowing that he had not received his food and that was it. Why would they close down the kitchen and not fix his food? I understand that they closed at 10pm but they were the reason we were seated past our reservation time so they should have been accommodating. The manager was just like he won't be charged. The manager did not come out and make rounds to check on ANY of the tables. When you asked for her, it took her around 10 minutes before she would come out. They were not very accommodating, and my ticket was over $100. Which included 2 meals, and 3 alcoholic beverages which were $15 a piece. Please!!!! I repeat please don't set foot in this establishment! The food is horrible and the service is even worse!!! They couldn't bring out the correct food and would bring the wrong food when they brought out food. Made reservations for 7:30 and guess what ... we didn't get our food til 9:30!!!!!!!! Do you hear meeeeee!!!!! Manager tried to explain the situation but she couldn't control the environment from the kitchen. Seem like manager had to go finish cooking our food due to kitchen staff walked off in the middle of the order. Seem like the whole restaurant was unorganized from the kitchen to the staff waiting tables. Manager did try to take care of our tickets but for the money you're paying for this place, it should be top notch food! SIKE!!!!!!! Food was old and half cooked!!!! Did you hear me...food was half done and not cooked completely. Seem like they just warmed it up and served it to us?!! It was absolutely horrible tonight!!!! First time was a bust, was seated immediately and sat fir about 20 minutes before anyone acknowledge us. No good evening how are you doing? I'll be right with you, no water no nothing, they were fussing about who was going to get what table? Finally when we got up to leave someone came over and asked if we had been helped? When the food came one of the entrées was cold almost to the point of like right out of the refrigerator, they took it away and we order another meal but they bought it back and said we warmed it up? "Really" is that what they do? we did accept it. The remaining foods was actually very good, but the service was ? we had to wait on my mothers tea but the alcohol came out first. Food did not come out together, therefore spacey! we had to go to the bar and get a straw and napkins. The manager indicated it was a shift change and apologized but the alcohol came out first; after we paid the bill we were offered $5 cash back from a $100+ total dinner bill ‍ "really" we left a tip and told the waitress she can keep the $5 also. Damn shame for first visit on a Friday! Couldn't enjoy the atmosphere because of the chaos. I would've done better at Applebee's. read more
