Food: They have shrimp & grits, beignets, pancakes, chicken & waffles, BLT & more on the breakfast menu. The pancakes are divine! They offer strawberry, blueberry, chocolate and pecan toppings. Shrimp & Grits are cool. I'm a bit particular when it comes to Shrimp & Grits, but I think they could use a little less cream and a bit more spice/flavor, but they weren't bad! For lunch and dinner, there are different daily specials. I'll come back on a Saturday to try the crawfish etouffee. Price: Great prices. Most meals on the breakfast menu are actually about $6-$13. Service: The young lady who is usually there in the morning is awesome! Ambiance: Just food. No frills. I think they could really benefit from giving the place a facelift or maybe even something as simple as adding a bar (the girls love mimosas) or patio furniture outdoors. Overall: Give it a shot!

My wife and I have been dining at The New Orleans Grill for over 20 years, and it's always been a…read morepleasant experience. We're consistently seated quickly, our orders are taken promptly, and the food is reliably good. The only reason I'm leaving four stars instead of five is the service after the meal arrives. Once the food is served, we rarely see our server again--and tonight was no exception. I had to track ours down when my glass went empty, which is always a pet peeve of mine. That said, the Catfish Creole is now my new favorite dish. Perfectly cooked Mississippi raised blackened catfish served over seafood gumbo--absolutely delicious! This entrée alone is reason enough for us to keep coming back.

Hubby and I decided to stop in bc we had Drago's in NOLA & it was hands-down phenomenal. This was a…read moredifferent story We came in for an early dinner. We figured we would have fresh food since the restaurant had opened 15 minutes earlier There was a handful of people at most, and the inside of the restaurant was horrifically hot There was no difference between the temperature outside and the temperature inside the building - Our server was on top of it, she was thorough. She was quick and very pleasant. Now let's talk the meal. I ordered the lobster trio that came with a half lobster, two filet mignon medallions, w/ mac & cheese The lobster was inedible. Rubber. I didn't need to even taste it. I could tell by looking at it. It looked dried. It looked old, and it looked like it had been sitting around for hours. NOT WORTH A $49 price tag - I hadn't touched it bc I was going to point it out to our server. My husband went ahead, grabbed a big bite and spit it out. As he picked for a decent piece I decided to let it go & said nothing. Save it for the review is what hubby told me. The steak was very good. Cooked perfectly. The Mac & cheese? Although tasty it was a wreck in presentation. The bowl was covered in sauce & cheese. It blew my mind. Just not to the level of the NOLA dragons at all. My husband ordered the gumbo. He enjoyed it although he said the flavor was not deep & a bit one note.

It just so happens that I was in New Orleans a few months ago and partook of same at that time. So this will be a direct comparison to Felix's. Bar has a nice setup with a couple TVs showing live sports, but no sound. I was able to connect my phone to get the sound via the Tunity app. Bartender was knowledgeable and easy going. I started with the gumbo and the oysters were served while I was about halfway through the bowl. The gumbo was pretty good and I would definitely get it again. The oysters were super hot and I actually had to wait a few moments before starting in on them. The chargrilled oysters were very good and if I had not had them in New Orleans I would have been most pleased. Of course, these were not as good as Felix's. But if you are staying at the Hilton, you absolutely need to walk over to Drago's. Check the portrait of Drago in the entryway ( he passed a few years ago).

They also have great service, and I had an opportunity to chat with the owner while I was there. He was nice. I ordered the griot meal which came with plantains (banan peze) and pikliz. There were also slices of onions and peppers which is always a nice addition. When I ordered I mentioned that I like my pikliz spicy, and I was pleased that they made sure I got that, lol. I only mentioned it because I recently saw that some Haitian restaurants will make their pikliz less spicy in case there are customers who can't handle the heat. And I didn't want to take the chance and not get what I really like. I love the blue and red colors on the inside for the Haitian flag, as well as the Haitian wall art. I wish them lots of success, and I can't wait to try something else on their menu when I'm back in town.

Someone in the back literally yelled at me to hurry up and get out of line. No greeting, no respect, just attitude for no reason. I give it to the boy for apologizing. I expected for the food to atleast be made correctly if I'm going to be rushed spending MY money. And the food? A complete mess. Everything was thrown on the plate like they didn't care at all. It didn't even look like what I ordered, which makes sense since they were more focused on rushing me than actually doing their job right. If you don't know how to treat people with basic decency, you shouldn't be in customer service. I will not be back, and I wouldn't recommend anyone spend their money here just to get disrespected.
