Kerala. As "knowledgeable " as I thought that I was about the regional cuisines of India, I experienced some incredible new flavor profiles from the south last night at the Denver Godavari restaurant. Huge menu, almost too big/extensive. I could eat here for a year, trying a different dish every day. Are the standard Punjab/Mumbai north Indian restaurants fare seem one dimensional. I can see that a buffet is the way to sample and experience. Sad that the one in Houston closed. So I guess that I will need to look for Chetinnad restaurants when I get home. Some photos of the restaurant on a busy Friday night to follow.

The food is so delicious, but my favorite thing is the desserts. Their carrot halwa is one of the best I've ever had. They also offer ice cream. I looooove the ras malai flavor. Service is excellent as the staff are super kind and helpful. The decor is super cool and creative.

This is India Restaurant & really busy place on weekends, always serve good and tasty india spices that will make your toungue dancing. The inside restaurant is cute and full of decoration will add your appetite to eat more.

Avakai goat curry - so flavorful and fall off the bone meat! The heat was there but doesn't overwhelm the delicious flavor

The food here is incredible! Better than anywhere in my native Chicago area, Devon Street (little India). I mean it! We are spoiled to have such a wealth of South Indian food available in one place. The dosa was perfectly crispy and stuffed with a delicious fresh potato mix, and the variety of Sambal and chutneys served with it were thick, flavorful and fresh! We also ordered the Avakai goat curry, made with mango pickle, and it had the perfect level of heat with LOTS of flavor! The meat fell off the bone, and the sauce was delicious. I also ordered a savory yogurt buttermilk, and it had lots of flavor too, and is my go-to for eating spicy, flavorful curries. Finding a spot with so much variety, including all the dosas, tiffins, chaat, and their weekly specials on top of the creative drinks as well as an alcohol menu - WOW! The atmosphere inside is also a great ambiance and service was exceptionally friendly.

By far the best South Indian restaurant in Denver. If you are expecting a North Indian restaurant where the highlights are Chicken Tikka Masala and Chickpeas, this is not your place. If you are looking for food from the south of the subcontinent, this is your your restaurant. The dosa served here is right on par with what you get in India. They ask your crisp level, and if you choose crisp as I do, you will not be disappointed. The sambar served on the side is top notch as are all of the chutneys, including tomato and coconut. The serving is a bit much for one, and I will end up sharing in the future as I will be back. Now let us talk about the lunch buffet. $18 for weekdays, higher on weekends. The buffet does boast a variety of foods including dishes made from vegetables found in the southern region of India. The buffet is very vegetarian forward, with a small selection of meat and fish kept off to the side. The buffet does include dessert as well as tea/lemonade. Overall the food is very well done. I can handle spice, however this spice level was out of my league. I can usually do some damage at an all-you-can-eat buffet however I had to end my meal earlier than expected as my tongue could no longer tolerate the heat. The service is fantastic and the menu is very welcome in Denver.

Honestly, this is currently the best Indian restaurant I've tried in Denver. Staff is accommodating, food is great and the prices are decent. My first time trying their weekend buffet and my friends here rave about it and rightly so. Their buffet is so good - so many vegetarian options, multiple types of biryanis.. it just makes sense to come here for their buffet! The medu vadas in the buffet were as good my the ones from my favourite restaurant in Mumbai! Loved it. We had to head to the airport and the staff here was so accommodating and got us a table within minutes. I hope this place continues to maintain their food standards and prices and they will always have a crowd waiting to dine here!

Fast service and excellent food. We got the chicken 65 as an appetizer. It tasted slightly spicier than chicken 65 I have got at other restaurants, but I loved it. I also got the masala dosa and enjoyed. Their sambar is delicious also. For south indian food in the Denver area this is one of the best.

Fabulous vegetarian buffet! I went with several friends and we were all very pleased with the options! There were great vegetarian and non veg options. The mango lassi was great too! I'll definitely be back! Service interaction was minimal as it was a buffet but they kept our drinks refilled! Nice ambiance and free parking too.

Chicken Tikka Masala with GUNTUR NAAN (GARLIC SPECIAL), and a side of basmati rice.

What time is the weekend buffet served and how much?

The buffet is served when open for lunch at 12 on Sat and Sun. I'm not sure if they have buffet during dinner time. It's $25 for the weekend buffet.

The service is a bit slow and its a more seat yourself and then they come to you with menus. So don't awkwardly stand there forever. The ambiance is super bright, and pretty mellow and quiet. My husband and I can never decide what to get so we opted for Chefs Tasting menu. Its $35 per person and everyone at the table has to participate. The soup was okay. It had a nice spicy kick. The kale chatt was interesting and crispy. Honestly I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Urban Cauliflower had a great flavor, kinda mushy though, but still balancer out. The tandoori chicken was tender and honestly wish it was bigger. The shrimp coconut curry was my least favorite. Just not a good combo for me. Lentils were hearty and had a cumin flavor. Goat and Lamb curry were very similar I could barely pull it apart. The butter chicken was our favorite. Garlic Nann you could eat on its own, Onion Nann always great but needed a dipper. Overall I liked it, but it was pricey for something I didnt love. Great start but onto the next :)

The beer came in an ice cold glass, something you rarely see anymore. The lunch sampler was $15 and came with a great selection of food. The coconut shrimp curry was flavorful & the shrimp were high quality. The only note is that I wish it was slightly less runny. Everything we had was packed with flavor and phenomenal. I would highly recommend bringing cash for this place for an additional discount. Service was fast, the place was clean, and everyone we talked to was kind. Definitely a place you should come eat at instead of going to the food court.

We came for the Indian fusion foods (amazing) but were introduced to the essence of small business pride with the owner giving a personal touch to all his guests. His story, if he shares it, inspires having a dream and bringing it to fruition from hard work and not compromising. I love establishments like this!!!!! The foodies here are cook to order, teas are made fresh as well! We ordered a variety of appetizers, entrees at various degrees of spicy and every single thing was packed with unique flavor explosions. There will be an entree for anyone's taste. We tried the dessert. The portion sizes were great. We had plenty to take home. You will want to come back to explore more of the menu, there is so much on it. Now to the unexpected! We did not expect that this place would have two restaurants! A morning restaurant, the Early Bird Eatery and then the Monks Indian Fusion Cuisine! Will post pictures of our dinner meal and the breakfast Early Bird Eatery menu since this is under the Monks Yelp. The service was excellent. Expect a dining experience. Do not be in a hurry since this is truly a small business and if you are lucky will likely engage the owner. It was a cozy environment for us and dinner. I expect depending on the time and what restaurant you visit the atmosphere to shift. Definitely support and encourage him and his team! His engagement and care to his menu details, the love for what he is doing reminds me of the small businesses abroad that share their culture in the same way because he has brought such flavor to his menu. It is quite refreshing to experience this at I25 and Dry Creek. If you blink you will miss this. Don't miss it. The prices are reasonable and I can't wait to try the breakfast menu. The dinner sits very well since I am writing this review a couple hours after eating. I plan to review again as well as recommend this place to everyone. I wish Yelp would offer a "pin your fav place on your profile" option because this is the review I want people to see first. Oh, it also has a bar but we enjoyed the drinks on the dinner menu. I will be tracking this place to see what others order as this place gets discovered. It is a pretty new under two years so go support this one day or night. The paneer bhurji biryani was very mild despite requesting it spicy, and the cold onions on top made me wonder if the biryani was freshly prepared. About a month later, I decided to give this place another try and ordered the veg kheema biryani, extra spicy. I kept my expectations low but was pleasantly surprised. It was so good! This used to be Hyderabad House, but everything feels elevated with this new management. The decor is stylish and welcoming, creating a fine dining atmosphere Another major plus, no wasteful buffets here, which is great to see Most impressively, however, is their staunch commitment to being eco-friendly. The owner is very conscious about avoiding plastics, from the takeout containers to the in house service ware. I didn't see any melamine plates and even the straws were made of paper. It feels great to enjoy delicious hot food without worrying about microplastics or chemicals leaching from plastic dishes, which unfortunately is still common in many other places. We're so glad we found Mad Over Curry and will definitely go there more often! Highly recommended!
