Southtown Health Foods has a pretty okay variety. Maybe is more expensive than it should be but the service is usually better than expected. They're known for the juice bar as well as produce and supplements. Coming here on a weekend isn't recommended because it's usually crazy. It's got pretty limited hours because it closes early. The only bad thing about it other than the high prices. Even so there were a few good finds. It's about $10 for a cup of the fresh juice which they make on site. Certainly it's excellent. The prices are just too much at times. You can find a few okay prices on vitamins. It's about $12 for certain supplements. There's also a pretty great selection of vegan items like pies and other things. Has a lot of things worth looking around for here. It's closed Sundays. As previously mentioned, the food on the hot and cold bar rotates daily. But I was never disappointed with the offerings because there are always at least a few things that I like. Whenever they have anything with broccoli in it, I get that. It's usually a tofu + broccoli combo, and the broccoli is always seasoned to the gawds! Cabbage and sweet potatoes are two more of my favorites here. And it's so easy for me to eat gluten free with their offerings too. (Disclaimer: I avoid gluten due to sensitivity issues; non-celiac. So I do not know if it's safe for those with celiac disease.) The juices in the fridge are good too. I got several hibiscus and ginger bottles. I finally tried a smoothie from here, the Very Berry with agave. It was delicious. They have WiFi, so I could do some work and eat before I put back on my boxing gloves to fight my way back to my hotel in Orland Park. Of note, most employees are very nice.
