Where do I begin? I called sales as I didn't see what I needed on the Goal Zero site. They offered a solution and I paid and it was shipped, however the cables to charge my Yeti 500 did not fit. A salesperson familiar with the Yeti 500 would understand the 8mm cable end must be male. It was a female because they don't make a male. I didn't even open it and requested a return and refund. Then some genius in support shipped me the same wrong cables again. Then some intern said I had to ship the return at my own expense. Then the support manager merged my return request with somebody else's and I was not sent the shipping label I was promised. All I can say is Goal Zero have achieved their goal of zero customer service. Not sure they could have handled this any worse. read more

I ordered a 3000x. They billed me immediately and I was told the item would be shipped in 1-2 business days. 3 days have passed and they still have not shipped. When I contacted customer service they sent a message that my item will be shipped in 1-2 business days, even though that date has come and gone and said their warehouse is very busy. The service at the retail store and the attitude they have was so terrible I decided to walk out and not make the purchase I was planning on. I was asking questions and getting one word answers. There was no passion in the staff to educate me and sell me something. I called Goal Zero and explained that I was on a road trip and asked if I could pick up a Yeti 1500X in person at their factory, which on the website says, "closed". They were very helpful and told me I could place the order over the phone and come in and pick it up in person. "Kim" greeted me and gave me my product, which I saved more than $600 for by buying an "open box" unit. Both my brother and I inspected it and we are confident it is a brand new 1500X, there is not a mark or sign of wear on it. I happen to work about 5 to 10 minutes away from goal zero so I randomly dropped by, hearing from a friend that they had a little outlet store inside their headquarters. I went in looking for a solar panel that I could take backpacking. They suggested the nomad 7+ and at the outlet section it was only $50. They say that they're basically brand new they just don't have the packaging so that's why they're half off or more. I told the sales person that I would be In the backcountry for seven days I needed to make sure that this would work and be reliable. He said oh yeah just make sure you test it out before you go on your trip. So as I drove off I put it in my dashboard and it would charge my iPhone for about two seconds and then say "this accessory is not compatible". I was like well this is interesting I wonder if it's just my cord? Nope, nothing worked so I messaged tech-support online since by this point I was back to my office. I told them my issue and the tech support guy responded, " oh the nomad 7+ doesn't work with iPhone. It's only compatible with android. "I was like WTF? Why don't they tell you this when you buy their products?! So I go back to the store again two hours later and tell the guy my problem, who by this point, was a different person at the desk. He goes "that's not true I have my iPhone plugged into one right now!" Ummm ok I'm confused then. Long story short the nomad 7+ does work with both iPhone and android I just happened to have bought a defective solar panel. They replaced it with a completely brand new one with no extra charge. Goal zero factory store in Utah allows you to test out their products and seen how they function. Refurb section in back where you can find great deals on a variety of items from older models to new, they also sell new items and run different specials each month. Check their Facebook page for specials or call or just stop in. You can tour facility and do rock climbing wall to their ceiling and slide down (waiver req). There are better products from other brands depending what you want, but Goal Zero does give back to worldwide community which is very nice. read more

I've bought several Goal Zero products over the years: small solar panel, lighthouse lantern, and a small power bank. I will never buy another product from them. The solar bank's battery died and I was unable to get it working again. Waste of money. I hardly ever used it. Customer service was less than helpful. I have to ditch the power bank and call it a loss. What a shame. read more

I ordered a Yeti 500x power station and it was shipped and then "returned to sender" by UPS. I cannot get Goal Zero customer support to respond to my requests for refund. They replied to one email acknowledging that I had not received my order, but then, instead of refunding my $695, they sent me a box to return what had not been delivered. Dealt with GZ several times, I own a handful of their products. I love them. Great customer service. Everyone in the building knows everything there is, or will make it a point to answer your question quickly. I had something that didn't work and the day after I bought it, I brought it back, stuff got checked out and it was replaced within the hour. I wanted my yeti 150 to be all it advertised, unfortunately after 3 months of testing faulty product after faulty product (four items in total that did not work) and 3 months of extreme patience and promise of refunds, I finally had to file a claim with my bank to get my money back... their solar products DO NOT WORK!!! I feel like they should pay me 3 months salary of their quality assurance department gets for doing their job for them, but obviously they dont have a QA dept with the amount of faulty product they produce. read more

Bought a Goal Zero Yeti 400 battery and the AC ports went bad after only 3 weeks of use. I jumped through some hoops to get them to provide a new battery under the Warrenty only to have UPS loose their shipment. Despite the fact that UPS has not turned up the battery a week after it was due to be delivered, they refuse to send out a new battery.
