Although I understand their desire to screen people, I wish they could develop a less "encountering" method. Further, it believe it would be helpful were some customer service training be initiated. Given the one star ratings, I can only assume the majority of the people's interaction with TAPS is an off-putting experience. That said, they do take good care of the animals. The dog I adopted from TAPS was at their shelter for years and was with a foster family before I adopted her. She's a Staffy at 51.8#'s of well-behaved love. It's obvious TAPS took good physical and mental care of her. And in defense of TAPS' uber-caution, my dog is attractive and could well get adopted by someone who isn't able to manage her.

When asked if there is no definitive way to tell her breed, when I may visit the dog in question? (Nacho Fries). It is only now, I find out there is a line ahead of me for an animal to come home. Rather than operating in home readiness and preparedness post approval, it is a First Come First Serve basis. Which, for a No Kill Shelter? Seems to be a relatively poor processing style. I would have loved to walk away with this sweet girl, but upon a return call to potentially look at another available dog? The same circumstances. No understanding of when the visit is scheduled if I can leave with my new companion that same day, nothing. While on vacation he had to ask for dog names even though we gave them to him, written them on the food containers and he had our dogs vaccination cards. He stated the they were all fine. When we got there to pick our 3dogs up we only saw 2 standing by him. He said we must've let the other one slip out when we opened the gate. That is a lie. We never put eyes on our little Penny. While searching his property he kept talking about how this has never happened and really wasn't helpful in looking just followed my boyfriend around talking. It just didn't feel right. When we told him the county sheriff was coming out he ordered us off of his property. We had to park on a side road while police were there. He refused to let the police search his home. My son paid eye in the sky drone to fly overhead his property the next morning then Kurt texted saying he found our dog but never told us where. My son went out to pick our baby up for us and I started receiving very rude messages from Kurt saying I can write what I want in Facebook and told me I will get what I deserve from God & karma and that I have psychological problems and need help. My boyfriend went back out to get the story from him on where he found her and ask about the texts. Yes we were clearly emotional while this was taking place but we didn't behave any differently than anyone else would. There is another review that this has happened before and he wouldn't help the guy look for his dog. The man sent it to me on Facebook as a screenshot. We could not have gotten a better puppy, and our experience could not have been any better. Her temperament is very calm and friendly, if you haven't heard of the spangold breed yet, I highly recommend. It's a combination of a springer spaniel and golden retrievers and they really are the best temperament dogs ever, and definitely give Dubois Springers a call for one :)

She is a well adjusted and heathy puppy. Troy provided me with thorough vet records and enough food for me to transition her to the type I use. This is my second Spangold. I love the first one so much I wanted another like her. This is what led me to DuBois Springers. All the dogs on his site were friendly and healthy. I met both parents of my puppy too. This was great to see their personalities and temperaments, which were wonderful.
