I have been here dozens of times. Today, my daughter and I ordered a sandwich thru ubereats for us to pick up. We got there and as the food had not been started yet, we asked for cheese on half of it only. They said they don't do that which is a lie, because I have gotten it like that several times. Ten minutes after it should have been done, I went to check....not started. Asked the cheese request again, NO. When I got the food, about 15 minutes late, I asked to speak to the manager. The female clerk refused to get them because they were slammed. It is not an eat in place, only us and one person were waiting for food. She still refused to get him. Visiting a friend in Tacoma and we went here. It's all outdoors and I wasn't sure if I'd like any of the Philly's based on other reviews but I feel you can't go wrong with fish and chips! Service was not good for it being a pick up window -- I was surprised to say the least. Being put on hold while the person taking my order was visibly on their phone is actually crazy! The 9.95 special before 1pm is a great motivator to run and get lunch. But they lose a couple of stars for just the service. I do not get it but maybe food service is high pressure. There's been a huge turnaround for the better at Go Philly. New staff have been friendly and accommodating, unlike the rudeness of the past. My food has been great, whether its the ultimate cheesesteak, smash burger (so juicy and tasty) or the chicken tenders, there is nothing bad on the menu. I tried the tenders for the first time today as part of the Tuesday special. They were BIG and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. What a disappointment. I ordered a chicken pepper steak with provolone cheese and mayo. And what I got was a complete disaster. Sure there's chicken cheese and peppers in there not too many peppers. But the amount of mayo in here dominates the sandwich. The bread immediately fell apart mushy from the second I took it out out of the wrapper and most of the rapper stuck to the sandwich. I opened it up as soon as I left the place and there was no time in between when I received the text message that my order was ready and me picking it up. Conveniently located on Tacoma Ave S near downtown Tacoma, their menu has everything for everyone in the family. With outdoor seating only, we took our food home to eat. I came to pick up my DoorDash order and experienced a very frustrating situation. There are 8 other people who have been waiting 45 minutes to an hour. My order was apparently given away to someone else, and I ended up having to reorder and pay again using my personal card. Unfortunately, this is the second time this has happened to me at this location. Additionally, the music playing at the booth was filled with heavy profanity and was loud enough to be heard outside, which doesn't create a family-friendly or welcoming atmosphere. That said, I want to acknowledge that the employee working the window stayed calm, professional, and polite despite the chaos. He answered everyone's questions with a smile and didn't seem overwhelmed. The meat on my cheesesteak was absolutely perfect, but it was a little light on the provolone if I'm being picky. My coworker said the same about her sandwich. The Buffalo chicken fries were to die for. I didn't know there was a drive thru pickup window until after I'd already walked inside to pick up my call-in order, so I'll take advantage of that window next time. It's so hard to get that cheesesteak meat just right, and they really did, plus I think it was on a legit Amoroso roll. I just had some of their juicy, moist, and made to order Southern Fried Jumbo chicken wings for dinner yesterday and they were the best!!! They are like wings the size of your fingers!!! But I have yet to try their cheesesteaks and I heard they they were okay too!!! They got all different kinds, like a regular cheesesteak, a deluxe, a chicken Philly, a Pepperoni cheesesteak and even a Veggie one for all you vegans out there!!! I was totally satisfied with the food and everything in between. They also have another location I Lakewood (I have been there also!!!) My family have eaten here a few other times. The food had no taste and didn't taste good, the fries were soggy due to all the oil on the chicken strips that also weren't seasoned. The receptionist was very rude when we came to pick up the food. Called up to the store to let them know and she took down our name and number. Hopefully we hear something back. Rude service is GUARANTEED here. Also, they advertise coupons and then refuse to accept them. When you ask them to follow through on their (obviously falsely) advertised special they say "We stopped that months ago", which is weird because it's been in the app for months. They also act like you're the problem just for asking. When you ask to have the owner call, they send you to the website and there isn't any contact information. I finally had an opportunity to try their cheesesteak sandwich and felt that I only got a boiled meat sandwich... Unfortunately, I felt that what you pay for and what you get are two totally different things. I've heard from others that this is a great East Coast style CHEESE steak sandwich which I was anticipating when I bought a cheesesteak sandwich. What I was given was a boiled meat sandwich that looked nothing like the pictures on their menu. For $10.95, I was anticipating that like the picture on their menu that it would be a roll filled with delicious steak with big chunks of bell peppers and melted cheese on top. What I ended up receiving was a roll filled with a very light ash gray boiled meat with tiny pieces of boiled onions and bell peppers, that were barely visible. There was NO cheese on top of it either so the entire sandwich was just boiled meat in a bun (It would've been a perfect sandwich if I was lactose intolerant and hated vegetables because there was no cheese or onions or bell peppers on it). I felt like I paid $10.95 for a $5 meat sandwich. My thoughts are if you want to try it and spend the $14 for a meat sandwich and soda, it's not a horrible sandwich. But again, it had no peppers or cheese on it. In my opinion, It paled in comparison to Philly cheesesteak sandwiches that I've had before from other shops. read more
