Not a long wait for your food but I honestly wouldn't mind since the food is made to order. The only thing I would prefer is a full filet of fish rather than cut up. We have heard about this place and we are always passing by so we decided to step in. It doesn't have a ton of parking, but if you get there early you can secure a spot because it is a popular spot and lots of locals get there early and tables are hard to come by. The place was super clean and the staff were really friendly. The young lady at the counter helped me navigate through the menu and I decided on the lunch special for $9.99 a great deal! Half cheesesteak with fries and bottled soda for an additional .75 cents. My husband went full on and got the original cheesesteak with OKRA!!!! Man was he sooo happy about that okra. Hubby upgraded his cheesesteak to a meal $4.99 plus the up-charge for the bottled soda. All in all we really enjoyed it. We would get the "cheese whiz" next time. I did add a little steak sauce to kick mine up a bit. We both got the cheese recommended which was white cheddar, I think(?). They only get 4 stars because of the wait time. We got there right when they opened and it took longer than it should have for it to come out. There were several people in the kitchen and the young lady in the front even went back to help them. Ordered dine in on 7/12/25 about 4:45pm. It wasn't until after we ordered and went to sit in the dining area that we realized the music was obnoxiously loud. We moved the to bar near the front door, where it was less loud, when my son, who has issues with loud noises, asked to take our food home. My husband went to ask if our order can be made to go instead and was told "No". This was crazy. Obviously it was eventually made to go, but not after a lot of back and forth. Rotten Customer Service!! These days, if your chosen mobile ordering app does not work, you'd better be prepared to accommodate your customers. But just to tell them they have to come in and place their order and wait 15-20 mins in entirely unacceptable! My family ordered online, indicated about how long it should take for order to be completed. My family member arrived & was told that the order was not even started after 30 min. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak, with mushrooms, onions, jalapeños and lettuce & tomato. The lettuce and tomato was placed on the bottom of the sandwich with meat piled on top. My bun was sopping wet and after several bites I bit into a huge gosh of mainly fat which grossed me out I could not finish my meal. I have been going to Go Philly for several years. I got a new iPhone 16 Pro and the app no longer works. I've tried four different credit cards to see if it will go through and I just get an error message to contact the developer. I did send a email to corporate, but no one has responded. Ok look, sometimes when I go somewhere, I just get what I call a bag of food. That's where you get a bunch of stuff and they hand you a giant bag... Today I did this and got a table full instead of a bag, but really, same principle... Three kinds of cheese steaks. Fried okra, catfish, two kinds of wings, Poppers, onion rings, hush puppies, coleslaw and Strawberry lemonade. My bill was about 90 bucks which surprised me a little, however price is no object when you're buying a bag of food. So let's start with the best and work our way down with the cheese steaks. These were amazing. They actually have cheez wiz steaks if you're into the original flavor, which was my first choice, but the pepperoni cheese steak equally as good. Those and the lemon pepper wings were OMG life changing. The okra was a little mushy, but not bad. Mild buffalo wings were a little vinger-y but them and the Poppers were pretty solid, above average. The onion rings and coleslaw were both about average. And I was not a fan of the catfish and hush puppies. On that note tho, they weren't bad, just not how I like my cat fish... So all that said this is a huge win. Stick to the cheese steaks and wings they bring you so much food that's all you really need anyway... The food was good. But the service is horrendous. I asked the Caucasian female if she was able to wipe off the tables cause we were in a group of 9 and she said hold on. We waited approximately 10 minutes, as I go up front to re ask she's behind the counter on the phone texting. Not only that she proceeds to tell me that she had a busy day. Not only were we waiting 10 minutes she also had an attitude toward me as if I asked her a personal question. She started to do other tasks in which resulted to us waiting even longer until the African American female said "you know what I'll do it". Not only is it courteous to have a clean restaurant, it's sanitary as well. If a consumer is asking for the table to be cleaned, I shouldn't have to hear about how many customers came in that day, it should be apart of her hourly routine. Stopped in here just last weekend, during "the COVID times". Dining room was still closed, queueing rails in place to guide people in one door, order and then out the other door. Typical markers on floor for "social distancing". I was pretty happy with the food, and I'll start there. I ordered a Pepper Philly and my wife got a 3-piece Chicken Strips w/ Fries. We also got a Strawberry Lemonade and some Hush Puppies. My Philly was awesome, great flavors and stuffed full! This is what a Philly should be, which is good because if you have the word "Philly" in your name, I'm not cutting you any slack here. This is probably, in my opinion, the best Philly in town. We were very happy to find the chicken and fries had zero taste of fish. The menu has catfish on it and we always get worried that the same fryer is being used and fish flavor transfers to the fries and chicken. Not the case here, so that was a pleasant surprise. The Hush Puppies were great. I'm from Texas and we've been looking for good Hush Puppies ever since my mom passed away, we may have finally found it here. Now let's talk about the "experience". The staff was very friendly. We ordered inside and then waited outside to pick up our order at the walk-up window. It's very difficult to hear orders being called, especially if you didn't park right on the window side of the building. Luckily, another person in their car yelled at us or we would have never heard it. So aside from the lack of being able to hear your order being called out unless you are literally standing right there, the overall experience was good. I'll definitely keep this place in mind and when I'm in need of a Philly Fix, this will be my go-to. Looking forward to being able to dine in soon! read more

I previously reviewed Go Philly in Tacoma and I can't lie, to say I was dissatisfied would be a understatement. HOWEVER, due to the local ravings of my local Yelp fam I went back and decided to give the business one last chance after 5 years. I stand before as a man corrected, corrected in the only yelp currency there is: bomb ass food. Let's break it down. The food: more amazing then your grandmas pies; the restaurant: cleaner then a brand new car; the staff: fast and friendlier then a homeless man trying to wash your windows at a red light. On this occasion I ordered the wings and they were "beyond" stellar. The buffalo sauce while not the best I've tasted and could use more originality was still "quite" tasty none the less. That being said, the star was their hot-lemon-pepper sauced wings! The flavor was dazzling; inspirational even! I'm still in a state of shock over how good they were! Shout out the chef! The wings were also "very" big and of a high quality. The only down side is the exuberant price of the wings, but for the quality and taste they might become my guilty pleasure that I somehow justify like an expensive date that you know is just with you because you just got hired at Amazon and.... never mind.. but Um yeah! I will be back! We ordered the Supreme Cheesesteak Combo ($16.94) which included a drink and fries. The sandwich alone costed $12.xx. I've had a few cheesesteaks at different establishments in Tacoma and I'd have to say that this had the best flavor. They don't skimp out on the meat. Because we came in on a Wednesday, we were able to get on the wing Wednesday deal (79cent/wing). We ordered 20 pieces. What could have been $24 ended up being $15 instead. You can choose multiple flavors. We opted for the habanero and lemon pepper flavor. Both were good. We did take-out so the chicken was warm by the time we got home, although our Cheesesteak was still hot. It was hot enough for me to get a pretty long cheese pull. The fries were pretty good as well. One thing that irritated my husband and I was that we waited almost 40 minutes to get our food. There were probably 5 people ahead of us. We ordered at 5:52PM and left the establishment at exactly 6:30PM. Speaking of time, my receipt was emailed to me and they provided a digital rewards card. For every 10 stars, you get a free Cheesesteak. I earned three on this visit because it ended up costing me $35.xx for the two orders. Is the food affordable? Prices are a little steep so if you are craving wings and you have extra time on your hands, going on a Wednesday might be the better option. But for other orders, any day would be okay since they don't have any specials (that I saw). Parking might be an issue if they are busy, such as on the day we visited. We couldn't find any parking on their private lot so we had to park on the side of the street. Would we return? The food was good. Their wings were better than the establishment found at the Lakewood Town Center BUT that long wait was a bit off putting. So, yes, we may return but we will probably come in at a different time of the day. read more
