Let me start by saying we made a mistake not reading a sign near the front door. It would've saved us a world of confusion. We're visiting from Florida & based on opinions of others we decided Go Fish Sushi sounded delicious. And what a cute name! Love it. So darling. And I will say that for gambling on mid-west sushi, it paid off. Everything was delicious. 5/5 stars for the quality of the food. Back to my review.. Remember, we didn't see the sign (small sign about knee height.) completely missed it walking in. We were not greeted. I asked if we could sit anywhere we liked & the hostess replied "you can sit while you figure out what you want & then come to the counter to order." Okay cool. We sat to figure out the menu. Every table had a bottle of soy sauce. I ordered crab Rangoon roll, California roll, spicy tuna roll, and the Philadelphia roll. For beverages I ordered three waters & a draft Sapporo. The hostess stated she'd bring our beverages to the table. She then delivered three bottles of water (not glasses of water) & my beer in a glass. We then realized we'd paid for water. We enjoyed the simple atmosphere while we waited for the food. One customer came in to pick up a take out order. Another came in & sat down at a table nearby. (Whom proceeded to eat at his table.) Our hostess delivered our meal bundled up in take-out fashion. This was confusing (because we hadn't seen the little sign.) I then stated to the hostess that we intended to dine in & were in need of service wear. Plates, silverware, etc. She replied "we don't do that." Puzzled I said "we can't have a few plates?" while pointing at their obvious stack of small plates. This would have been a very good moment for her to kindly apologize & let us know that they were take out only for lunch. Nothing. Just a reluctant smirk while handing me three little plates & soy sauce dishes. My spouse now noticing the backside of the little sign said "why does your sign say take out & dine in?" One of the two gentlemen replied "cuz you're only looking at the back of the sign." By then we were already opened up & divvying up the sushi. So they reluctantly let us continue. We were still confused until we looked at the front if the little sign which clearly stated "take out only." There were two opportunities for kindly reminding us they were only offering takeout - at the beginning when asking about a table & then again once we asked for plates. Our hostess failed in that regard & acted very indignant & snobby. We feel bad because of our mistake, but the customer service was sub-par by the hostess. read more

You're NOT important to them unless you order carry out hours ahead. We tried to order twice- hours before they were closing and we were told - sorry they had enough orders for the day. Also the dine in versus carry out hours are very confusing. Their food is good, but they are a mismanaged business that creates a frustrating dining experience. read more

The food is great and the restaurant is always clean but the servers are never kind. They treat everyone like an inconvenience. It is always a gamble if they are open, they are always too busy to take orders. I recently tried to call in an order at 5PM to be picked up at 7:30 (knowing they are always too busy), they told me the soonest they could have 1 roll ready was 8:30-9PM.... 3:30 hours for one roll ‍. Garbage absolute crap! Worst idea of a business ever. Food sucks, atmosphere lacking and the orders were wrong. Off day? Happened the 2nd time I ordered too and charged me for the wrong order. This place is a sad excuse for a sushi joint. Every time I go here they're either closed or too busy to take my to go order. Don't waste your time here. Burlington needs a REAL sushi restaurant. read more

I can't believe Go Fish doesn't already have a proper web page or a Yelp page: their food is fantastic! I found Go Fish on a business trip that took me to Burlington. I was looking for some take out to take back to my hotel, so I could continue working into the night. I stopped by Go Fish and was invited to the bar to place a take out order. The restaurant was extremely busy: most of the tables were full and they appeared to be fielding quite a few phoned in to go orders. The server who took my order was very kind and brought me a water while I sat at the bar waiting for my order. I ordered a couple different rolls (can't recall what they were now, as it has been a few weeks) and a seaweed salad. The rolls were all well-made and the fish tasted fresh. They forgot to give me my seaweed salad, but I'll chalk it up to a very busy night. And since I was expensing the meal anyway it was of minimal importance to me. The dining room is cozy but cute. The staff all seemed to be working hard and were being as attentive as possible to each guest. I'd recommend Go Fish to folks in the area looking for some great sushi. read more

Amazing sushi but it's a gamble whether we can eat there or not. They offer to go orders but say "feel free to use our tables"??? This place is extremely unreliable. We tried to eat there at 1pm on a Saturday and they were done taking orders for the day. It baffles me every time I try to eat there it's like we have to create a game plan. I want to continue to eat there and support a local business but it shouldn't be such a hassle. The customers are treated like a burden. On a Saturday at noon there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to serve customers unless you are too busy. In my opinion restaurants should be open all day on the weekends and if you need extra help, post job applications please. read more

This place is serving up some of the most FRESH sushi I've ever had. The place is small so call ahead for reservations because you won't just want to order takeout. Have a seat at the bar and watch the kitchen operate right in front of you. Truly an experience from start to finish. Can't wait to work my way through the menu read more
