I feel like its usually hit or miss when I come here, but I've had Sesame Garden twice in the last few weeks and have been pleasantly surprised. The egg rolls don't taste the same, they are so much better now...not so much filler. The chicken and broccoli still lacks flavor, as does the Mongolian beef. But still decent meals. I though they used to give pork fried rice with their meals and now its just plain fried rice, which is fine by me since I hate peas. The crab rangoons don't seem as big either. My Mongolian beef this time around seemed like it was mostly onion and very little beef. We ordered our food to dine in and it did seem like they were a little busy, but even so, I felt like the food took longer than normal to come out. Sesame Garden, which used to be Lin Garden, is a great local spot for Chinese. It's very affordable and worth the money you pay. The lady that runs it is very good and speaks English well. She is quick and efficient. Great meal place for take out and dine in (even though there are only about 20, chairs in shop to eat at), as long as you have a car. It is across the street from KMart and doesn't deliver to campus sadly. However, if you can make it there, you won't be disappointed. We were there around 5 pm on Saturday. While you would expect the food to be hot and fresh during the first round of the dinner crowd, that wasn't the case with every dish. The egg drop soup looked like it had been there since last week, and the egg rolls were dry. That said, there were plenty of other things to choose. Variety was good, the service was nice, but the food was less than average. If you don't like to be cold, don't let them sit you near the window in the front of the store in February. Ate here yesterday while visiting the college with family! First off, HUGE portions for the price. Back in AZ, we would have had to pay twice that amount for food. Secondly, it is that good in and out Chinese food everyone looks for, even me. The flavor was on point the sushi was wonderful and the staff spoke really good English. Really good food at a reasonable price. I've tried a variety of their dishes, but tend towards Kung Pao Chicken and it is good, I also like the Hot and Sour soup. I like sushi, but haven't tried it yet as I am stuck on the Chinese. You do have to ask them to leave out the msg and they will with no issues. Actually, the last time I ordered I didn't need to because the owners know me and they must have left out the msg because I didn't have any reaction. Haven eaten Chinese in New York and both Southern Cal and the Bay Area (Oakland , CA has some of the best Chinese in the US; I lived in CA for about 20 years), I would say Sesame Garden is as good. read more

If you're a college student, this is the place to get more food than you can eat in a sitting for $7. I don't include meat in my diet, so I always get a heaping mound of vegetables, an equally large amount of rice, and an eggroll. While the basic sushi I've tried was nice, I've never ordered an entree I've really liked. The sauces are weird, it's usually super greasy/ soggy and I always feel gross after. I love getting quick pick up sushi from here. It's more of a matter of personal taste but I like the sushi here more than yummy chens. Not knocking yummy chens but I think sesame garden is under rated here. Good staff, clean place, and quick orders. I've had the beef here as well and their servings sizes are huge for their price. Unbelievably good for the price!!! Was reluctant to try the place initially because building looks a bit sketchy. Never had a bad experience here and that is saying something for any restaurant. I have eaten something from every section of their menu and have always been pleasantly surprised. What I appreciate the most, I know it's picky, is that they change their fryer grease often. When u order egg rolls or crab Rangoon they don't taste like grease they taste fresh and arrive golden brown. Sushi is great especially for landlocked area. Wasabi is real and pickled ginger is a epicurean treat. What is obvious is the owners take pride in the food they serve. They consistently put out great food at ridiculously low prices. We both got a combo plate with 8 pieces of nigiri (you get to choose), a seaweed salad, and one special roll off their menu.
