Rude, unprofessional, and overpriced for how bland the food is Two lox/avocado bagels, two hashbrown patties, and orange juice ran us $60- which we weren't surprised about because we saw the prices but insane that it tastes the way it does. Tasteless and unseasoned. We had asked for our bagels toasted, and when they came they were obviously not toasted at all. They came cold, without any toast marks, and soggy. No biggie. If we spent $60 on bagels surely they'll just remake it for us right? I believe it was the manager, but an older white male with glasses who seemed to be in charge scuffed when we said it wasn't toasted. He didn't even look at it and said it was toasted. Then I started pointing out how it was cold to touch, literally zero toast marks, and was soggy. Then he just grabs the bagels and CHUCKS it to the garbage can without saying anything. Insane. A level-headed employee next to him took over and said he'd remake it. This time it was clearly toasted. It had toast marks, was WARM, and crispy like how you'd expect a toasted bagel. Unfortunate part was that it just did not have any taste. They advertise the lox&avocado special as seasoned/with lemon juice but it literally just was unseasoned salmon, avocado, and cucumbers. I ordered a bagel with light butter. I was eating this and it didn't taste right to me. Then I noticed that they put plain cream cheese on my bagel as well. Go Bagels bought the location and this business and menu is now totally different. It previously was my favorite Bagel Point at this location. I am so disappointed I can't get the cragels, cheddar bacon cream cheese or my other favorite menu items anymore. I had a Pumpernickel Bagel with Chipotle Cream Cheese. My receipt is wrong. The price is good $6.48 with tax. BUT it's nothing to write home about. They have the same old flavors of bagels and cream cheese as every other bagel shop. I don't see anything special that I can't get close to home. Next time I'm in midtown for the doc and treat myself to brunch, I'll be finding a new place to go beforehand. This is a half mile walk from the doctor's office and I could jump back on the train and head uptown for something better to eat. I wonder if I did enjoy eating the bagel and cream cheese or was I just hungry after starving before bloodwork? Try it if you want fast friendly service I can guarantee that! The classic tuna sandwich on an everything bagel hit the stop. The tuna salad was perfect. As a chef, I truly appreciated the freshness, the balance of tuna to mayo ratio, and the superb quality of tuna. The bagel had that wonderful NY classic chewiness but still felt light enough to not overpower the tuna salad (which happens a lot with bagels). They prepare food the way I would prepare it for my clients. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. Also the coffee blew me away. Had a cup and you could taste notes of dark chocolate, berries and molasses. I love coffee so I asked. A good bagel shop on the upper east side that serves hot fresh bagels and a good assortment of spreads as well. Got me a dozen of assorted bagels , a container of cream cheese plain and a container of egg salad which I promise to my coworkers.. Good variety of hot and cold beverages also , good hot cappuccino and scrambled eggs on a sesame bagel was a good way to start my morning . This place replaced "Bagel Point" a couple months back. What a mistake. The entire vibe changed immediately. Gone were all the cool associates we all came to know, literally first name bases, I'm assuming let go. Gone were the lines out the door everyday. Replaced by impersonal people who just don't match up to what was there. I went in today to grab a multigrain bagel and scallion cream cheese. The nerve of this place...they charge like $2.74 for the bagel, which is up from the $1.90 it used to be, and NOW, are you ready, they charge $4.50 for the scallion cheese cheese to be added to the bagel. For this one bagel was almost $8 after tax. I mentioned to the person ringing me up that the $4.50 seemed a little excessive for the cream cheese. I was then told that they just raised the prices AGAIN yesterday. It's such a shame because I used to leave $1 tip all the time, now, I don't, and unfortunately I won't be back. What a way to ruin a business. Not sure how much longer they'll be open as the couple times I have gone, there a less people. Good luck with all that. What a rip off. read more
