Definitely one of my fav bagel shops in NY! I love their bagel sandwiches and it's very filling. I love their variety of bagels and cream cheese. Be prepared to wait in a line during weekends but line goes fairly quick and also worth waiting for. I got the Rainbow bagel (had to try) and the Works bagel sandwich! I definitely went back again before my flight home and it didn't disappoint. It is a small shop so we just took it to go and ate it at another coffee shop but there's a few seating inside but when it's packed the line goes out the door. Can't wait to be back and try more of their bagels and cream cheese flavors!

I went to Liberty Bagels for the first time when some friends came from out of town. Of course, they wanted some classic NYC bagels. Why not?! This spot ended up being chosen. I ordered the meat, egg and cheese with bacon on a toasted everything bagel. It was pretty great. Definitely something I would recommend if you're craving a satisfying breakfast sandwich. My friends went with the classic nova special, also on a toasted everything bagel. They really enjoyed theirs too. One thing to note is that they give a cash discount, so it's worth bringing some if you have it. The line was pretty long and a bit unorganized, but I guess it's part of the experience. Overall, a solid bagel and good choice if you're in the mood for one.

Finally had a chance to try the place that is home of the rainbow bagels as this has been on my list for a while. Of course, I got the rainbow bagel w/ bacon, egg, and cheese. Also, steak and cheese with pumpernickel bagel. This place was super packed like non-stop. The line was very long the tables were tight and you had to wait for someone to finish eating to get the table right after them. It was loud and orders being completed left and right. They are doing a great job with getting all the orders

This new location offers the usual Liberty Bagels fare - bagels, bagel sandwiches, bagels, with schmears, etc. This location seems quite larger than others, with ample more standing counter space to devour your meal. Thanks to the space, their displays of schmears and lox present a visual treat, which complements the polished and brightly lit interior well. I value the quality and consistency of their breakfast bagel sandwiches. This time, I got The Works, a breakfast bagel sandwich with eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, bacon, & cheese. It tasted as I expected - savory, breakfast-y, and satisfying. It arrived piping hot. I would not ask for anything more from this. As an aside, the staff here seemed cordial. While the standoffish attitude of staff at other locations seem quintessentially NYC, this was a pleasant change.

Not too bad - definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Kids love the rainbow bagel with birthday cake frosting ...I mean cream cheese (but it's definitely sweet and more like a dessert). The everything bagel with cream cheese was a-okay as well. Service was pretty quick , considering the line that was pretty long. Some places to sit along the wall, but more of a grab and go spot.

Busy location, but delicious bagel sandwiches and close to Central Park! This was my first time having Liberty Bagels and I was impressed! Once you order at the counter, you get your food pretty quickly. I got a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel (my go-to) and decided to be a little crazy and add a hash brown inside. The bagel was toasted on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside. This location is quite busy and the line inside can get long (~25min) on weekends given it's close to Central Park and there is little seating inside. Highly recommend walking a block over to the park to sit. Having a bagel on a park bench is something truly special. Pro tip: get the fresh squeezed OJ! It's incredible and so worth it.

So I actually haven't made it to the store. We door dashed it to our hotel because we were running out of time during our visit to NY. The bagels were really good! The cream cheese were great! We tried strawberry & jalapeno and both were really good! Man do they pile it on the bagel! I always feel like it's way too much cream cheese and wish they would just give us less & charge less. Bagels we tried, rainbow, jalapeno everything and cinnamon raisin bagel. All 3 were chewy, and great flavors! Would get again! SYOY!

Ordered a jalapeño cheddar bagel with egg, turkey bacon and chipotle cream cheese. Next time I'd do regular cheese on that over cream cheese cuz the cream cheese was so messy. It was good but Tompkins still reigns supreme and the jalapeño cheddar bagel was not jalapeño nor cheddar enough. Line was long but moved pretty quick.

Very busy Saturday morning but cycled through quickly, maybe 29 minutes. Good coffee and the bagel was legit! Got mine on egg everything and was all I had hoped for in a NewYork bagel!

I've now tried quite a few bagel shops in NYC and this is one of my faves. Even with their long lines, it goes quickly. I love the hooting and hollering that happens behind the counter and the lack of pleasantries. It just feels like New York in a charming, fun way. We tried savory, we tried sweet, and we tried a sandwich - all three were delicious. This location is great because it's a quick walk to Central Park, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Not bad, not great. Liberty bagels has always had a lot of hype but I don't see this being any better than the bagel shop closest to you. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. The bagel wasn't fresh, but was toasted. It came with a ton of cream cheese if you like that. The egg everything was super chewy but my sister got the regular everything bagel and it was better. You order at the counter and they call your name to pick it up, so service is pretty standard. There is seating inside, so that's a plus and when I went, there were plenty of seats. The best part about this location is that you can pick up a bagel and walk to Central Park to eat it if you want.

This place has been on my list for a while, esp after seeing pictures of the glorious rainbow bagel. Came here for Sat brunch and the line was pretty long, but it moved fast. Ambiance is very casual with some seating options. - Rainbow bagel with blueberry cream cheese: 7/10 (idk the bagel was like... a bit tough to chew? The bread was definitely not the star of the show... it's pretty tho?) -Novie: 10/10 (the novie with lox and cream cheese was wayyyy better) Idk if I'd come again but it was an interesting experience!

Interior display which I thought was cool!

This was my first time trying a New York style bagel, and I have to say it lived up to the hype! The service was pretty standard, but the ambiance made me feel like a real New Yorker, which I loved. Everything Bagel with Salmon Lox and Scallion Cream Cheese - This was my favorite. The bagel was perfectly toasted - dense but not overly heavy, so it still felt light. The cream cheese was spread in just the right amount (and honestly, you can never have too much cream cheese). I loved the strong scallion flavor, and paired with the delicate lox, it was a perfect balance. The sesame seeds and seasoning from the everything bagel tied it all together. Everything Bagel with Bacon and Scallion Cream Cheese - This one was a bit of a miss for me. The bacon flavor didn't really stand out, though the bagel itself was still perfectly toasted, and the scallion cream cheese was solid.

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

We also wanted to try a classic pastrami on rye--but without committing to the long lines at Katz's Delicatessen. Sarge's ended up being the perfect alternative, just a quick five-minute walk from our hotel. We arrived around 5:00 pm on a Sunday and were seated right away, which already felt like a win. The meal started with coleslaw and both a half sour and full sour pickle--such a classic deli touch, and a great way to kick things off. I ordered the half sandwich with matzah ball soup, and the portion sizes were no joke. The soup alone could have been a full meal: a huge bowl with an equally massive matzah ball. The broth was warm and soothing, and the matzah ball was incredibly light with a perfect texture. The half pastrami on rye was just as impressive. Even "half" was stacked high with flavorful, tender pastrami. Adding a bit of mustard from the table brought everything together--it was simple, classic, and exactly what I was hoping for. Not only was it one of the more reasonably priced meals of the trip, but it was also genuinely satisfying. If you're looking for a no-fuss, traditional deli experience without the wait, Sarge's is a great option.
