All the 4 and 5 star reviews say it all. So, I'm not going to repeat all the good stuff said. We were in town with our 10-yr old adventurous grandgirl and had a blast. She thoroughly enjoyed it, staff is awesome and as I said. Different 'loops' (levels) for kids. All the 4+ reviews speak truth! Go Ape!!

Went here with my son and had a lot of fun!! You get a good workout climbing trees and getting from place to place. This was set up in 5 sections and at the end of each section you get the reward of zip lining! We really enjoyed it. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They are big on safety and make sure everyone goes through training. I would suggest not going on a hot summer day if you don't like to sweat because even though you're in the woods it can be sweltering. I would have liked to zip line into a pool! They did have water coolers at every section which was life saving - thank you!

This was soooo much fun! Challenged myself...had no idea that I would need to have a WHOLE lot of heart to take that first leap!! GO APE in Myrtle Beach SC..

Had an excellent time with a friend of mine. If you want to challenge yourself, complete a bucket list item, or just do something different, I would recommend trying the zipline/tree top course. We did the safety stuff, took our time. The instructor was excellent and thorough. It gave us the necessary know how to successfull navigate the course on our own with guides staff patrolling the stations nearby to assist if needed. We completed it in 3 hours from arrival to driving off the parking lot. We paid about $47/person due to a Labor Day coupon they had on their website we took advantage of. It was great and I am glad I completed it.

Visited Go Ape with my husband shortly after its grand opening and was able to take advantage of a discount (regular price is a bit steep at $57). Online booking was a breeze, and we arrived early as instructed. This is definitely recommended, as you'll want to use the restroom before strapping on your gear... and the park's facilities are a bit of a hike from the Go Ape check-in point. The parking lot and trailer (currently... I think they are eventually getting a more permanent structure for ticket sales and check in) are directly beneath the zip line finale. Fun to see folks whizzing in, concluding their adventure. The website estimates 2-3 hours to complete the course, and we finished smack in the middle at 2.5. The first 30 minutes of that were spent getting the gear on, educated as to the components, and then running through the training course -- a mini version of various elements and obstacles you'll encounter along the way. I found this session very informative, and it helped put me at ease with how to operate the carabiners and pulleys, and what to expect once I got under way. The construction in Blue Jay Park feels quite natural; the elements blend in to the surroundings, and take full advantage of the towering hardwoods. The course starts at a moderate height but gradually sends you higher and on more challenging obstacles. At a few points, there are "choose your own adventure" paths, allowing you to select the level of difficulty. There are several zip lines which bring you fully to the ground before you climb up to the next session. As these zip lines grow taller and longer, the landing grows harder and ouchier. I didn't land face forward on my feet even once! Was really glad I had on pants and long sleeves, as the runway is a heap of woodchips and not so comfy! My favorite element was the Tarzan swing in which you grasp onto a rope and 'freefall' swing from treetop to cargo net. The pace of the course was pretty good the day we went. Our timeslot had ~10 people in it, but once we got started, this thins out due to the 2-people-on-a-platform restriction. Despite the restriction, we didn't do too much waiting around either; the course would get a little congested in some areas, like ladder climbs or particularly taxing crossings. This was our first ropes experience, and we had a total blast. We wound up trying a course in Greensboro, but thought it paled in comparison to this one. The only improvements that could be made would be to provide gloves (the ropes are tough on the hands) and lockboxes (for your loose belongings. We left ours with the "front desk" in the trailer, which I'm sure was pretty secure. But after we completed the course and went to pick up our items, there was no one working in the trailer; we wound up having to wait a while for an employee to return so we could get our things). Minor nits, but improvements that would bump my next visit up to 5 stars!

My answer came with Ethan. Nominally he was our referee and babysitter. But in reality... in reality he was our gunnery sergeant; our centurion from days of yore! He filled our air, fixed our masks, and marched us off to chow! He taught us the ways of paintball and we taught him a little about life. A member of my communal living space encouraged him to incorporate a slogan of his own design into his everyday work script: "have an extreme day". How novel! Yes Ethan. Yes.

You start off with an intro, which doesn't take too long. You have to wear a helmet and you can't bring anything with you like a phone, which is different than other places I've been. I know it's for safety, but just something to be aware of! They make everyone start with a beginner course to get the hang of things, which is a little unnecessary but also understandable. I didn't mind it much, but they need to manage that better in terms of the order for people to go through. A family of moms and small children led this, and since they were more uncomfortable, it caused a backlog and we had to wait a while to get everyone through when we really just wanted to start on harder courses. The difficulty level definitely ranges quite a bit, which is great for all skill levels and ages. I also liked the glider options, which is not something I've seen before! It would be nice if people could walk around underneath and take pictures if they're not joining in the actual ropes course. Overall, I had a nice time and it's definitely a great experience!

I am going out of my chaotically busy day to leave this review, because I mean every word and I am not a "cheerleading" parent. I generally don't care for places like this because I have to sit in a hard chair and wait until he's finished playing. I want to play WITH him! This place, UA, has so much going on! My child and this mama (me) had an amazingly fantastic time! It was fun wading through the clear bubble pit. It seriously is a good workout, plus, walking the plank is a bonus. The trampolines are just as fun as all the other trampolines BUT it wasn't nearly as crowded; no accidents means even more fun (for me)! Then, I saw the go carts and realized that MAMAS COULD DRIVE- not just kids and people running the exhibit!!!! Since my little monkey isn't big enough to reach the pedals, I got to be the driver. It was so much fun that we went probably 5 times before UA closed. My kid thought it was the greatest thing ever when another mama entered the track and we locked eyes as way of greeting, we both knew what needed to be done: a race so epic that the camera couldn't keep up to take a picture. The photo of us smiling is after the go carts. Genuinely smiles = really excellent memories. It is NOT cheap. It is substantially more than places like Safari Nation, literally any of the museums (the one in Raleigh is probably the closest in price) and of the other places for kids that I am blanking on. To be a parent/member and get to also use the go-karts, each kid is roughly $110 for 6 months of prepaid unlimited play. It's $60 for an annual membership for parents and allows them to use any of the exhibits that they wish, including go karts! So for $170-180 you are able to go as many times as you want for 6 months. If you pay full price for 6 months and add it all up, you come up with There isn't much of a discount for paying in full for 12 months.
