I would give this place a 0 out of 5 stars if I could. I called the store and asked if I could use my 30% off discount I got in my email, the blond guy that was working said quote " I can give you 30% off anything in the store, I checked with my boss". I was extremely excited. I drove 20 MINUTES to this store, found out THAT HE LIED. I wanted to buy a few protein bars and HE SAID QUOTE "I can't give you the discount on a few protein bars"... Purchased a product online, GNC.com. Was told by an associate when I called the store they would be able to accept my return for a refund. Since this was not my local store needed to drive 30 mins out of the way about 10 miles out and be late to a holiday party with friends. As the associate assured me they would be able to take my return I wanted to make good on their words and drive in. The associate I spoke with had left for the day and another associate processed the return some how, however it was less than what I paid for online, by more than 10%. They called the store owner who advised them of a way it sounded like to process the return, however in the end, the rep advised me they could not process the return now, even though he did it initially somehow. The associate then asked if I wanted to speak to the owner, so he called him from his personal phone. Spoke to the owner explained to him the situation and what I was "told" which prompted me to drive up there, and the owner's response was, I'm not responsible for what the associate said, and I repeated as the owner of this store, they report to you and work for you, it's not your responsibility correct? His response, I was not there so it's not my responsibility. BEWARE of this store and all the locations owned by this owner. If it is not from one of his store they will not help you. Also if an associate tells you something incorrect, IT'S NOT HIS RESPONSIBLITY either. For someone who owns a store YOU ARE responsible for all the people that work there. They REPORT TO YOU! YOU ARE AT THE TOP OF THE CHAIN. I feel terrible for any associate who works their, because the "store owner" "YOUR BOSS" will not back you up what so ever! They will not have your back. This is a perfect example of a BOSS not a LEADER. If you can't backup an associate who said something incorrectly, possibly not knowingly, and you're willing to throw them under the bus and say it's not your responsibility, that's a terrible management and just sad as an owner representing a nationwide company. I like this store but the guy at the front desk today wasn't wearing a mask during a global pandemic. WTF! When I asked him why, he said his mask was broken and that he still felt safe in the store as few people enter at a time. WTF Again! read more

I can see why this store has a high star rating! I drove from Downers Grove to come here and I'm glad I did. Great staff here! Not pushy, want to help you with what you are looking for and make valid suggestions towards your goal. If you want the suggested product great. if not no big deal. Huge shoutout to the staff here. I stopped in about a month ago looking to get my protein. For the last two years I have consistently used the same protein so I decided to switch it up. Purchased the new tubs and ended up having pretty terrible reactions to them. I went back in and they switched it out for a different one no problem. Well, I tried a different brand again and ended up having the same problem with that one. I was hesitant to go back but when I did they were awesome and happily switched it out for one that would work better for me. Really grateful for the staff being so friendly and accommodating. Ever since I started working out again I've been a regular at this GNC location. When I lived at home I was always able to go in and buy my favorite supplements but now that I moved away to college the GNC location on campus is a corporate store and does not carry a few brands that the Wheaton franchise location does. After discovering that GNC offers a free 2 to 3-day shipping I've been sending my mom in the store, buy what I need, and having them send it to me. All of the guys there are extremely personable and would rather ask questions about your lifestyle then what supplements you should buy. I'm writing this review from college for my mom who doesn't know how to work a computer. I would also like to put in my personal review as well and I'm extremely grateful for the two free Shaker bottles that was thrown in on the purchase for the two different powdered supplements I bought. read more

Came in on a Friday night looking for some protein powder. One guy working the whole store who's name was Adam. He was very knowledgable and friendly and helped me pick the right product for me. It's one extreme or another as it relates to service. One guy seems to be willing to answer any questions you have. Another comes off as a real know it all. One guy shares any potential disclaimers he may have and what product he's used. The other seems like he enjoyed bad mouthing particular product lines. Mr Know It All, aka The Marboro Man, may be seen enjoying a Marboro. If you smoke, it's your business. However, doing so in front of a health related store...... not a good idea. Customer Service was great, Adam is the manager and he took care of my Mom who lives right down the corner from there. She was looking to loose a few pounds and Adam gave her options to choose from that would give her the best results. I want to tell ever one who is into nutrition that and shops at GNC at 2305 63rd, if you get frustrated with not getting any help, I was never going to shop their again as I spend a lot of money on supplements, protein shakes and I have autoimmune disorders so I spend a lot of my check there. I called the store today and they didn't want to be bothered on 11/29/2015 at about 1215pm. I called your Wheaton, IL store and Adam was just so wonderful. He took time and gave alternatives to the shake I was going to buy and it had dairy in it. A major allergen for me. Adam after recommended different brands that I wasn't aware of. Raw Fit Meal, Nutrition Now, AND THE BEST FOR ME TRYING TO LOSE A LOT OF WEIGHT from steroids due to an auto immune disorder. The last one that Adam recommended is The Complete Vegan Protein. Adam really shows that he cares about his job and the company but he also helped you keep a good customer who spends a lot on my health. Better you then these staph filled hospitals. Adam is the greatest. I really hope you not only keep him as an excellent employee but that moves up in this wonderful company that has helped me return to good health!
