I normally don't write negative reviews about a product or service, especially after more than a few years have past but I think in this case G&M Design deserves it as the problem I'm about to explain has only gotten more annoying the longer we have to live with it and I now feel compelled to write this. 3 years ago or so we had picked out new kitchen cabinets and countertops when we were remodeling and had them design the new layout of our kitchen. We had already purchased our new appliances and gave them all the manuals and installation literature for each one including our refrigerator so they new the design and size of each one to properly plan for the placement of each one. I wasn't there personally to oversee the installation but this was far from the company's first kitchen remodeling job and I trusted that everything was going to be just fine. Here's where my assumption of their level of competency was very wrong. As you can see by my pictures the refrigerator was inexplicably, and stupidly placed practically against the right wall of our kitchen. The right door cannot be opened to anywhere near where it should to allow easy access to the refrigerator. It is constantly hitting the trim to the window treatment (previously the wall itself) that potentially could scratch or dent the finish and it constantly wants to swing closed when trying to get at anything. This is a very amateurish mistake that should not have been made and correcting it after the installation would have been very costly. The door cannot even be opened wide enough to allow the occasional removal of the lower draw and shelves for cleaning. The entire fridge has to be pulled out to do that so it can be maneuvered to allow the right door to fully open, which leads me to the next error they made. The opening for the refrigerator was made just barely wide enough to squeeze it in with the sides of the fridge literally rubbing fairly hard against both sides of the wood causing scraping of the finish on the sides of the refrigerator. This is just insane! Whenever anyone has seen this and they usually question why was the fridge placed so close to the wall when it was so easily avoided. If the fridge had been placed even 8 inches more to the left, allowing for a narrow column of cabinets and/or pullouts of some sort to the right of the refrigerator, that would have completely avoided the problem. Many people have told me that is why you never put a refrigerator that close to a wall where I door needs to swing. G&M Design can't say they didn't know what kind of refrigerator we were putting in there because as I've said we gave them all the literature in advance so they would know exactly what placement and size cutouts were needed. This has made our otherwise nice kitchen upgrade -- at considerable cost -- a terrible disappointment as there is not a day that goes by that we aren't reminded of this ridiculous annoyance that should have been avoided by any company that has done more than a few designs and installations. I may look into filing a lawsuit to cover the cost of redoing that part of the kitchen which would obviously be costly even if a match to the original cabinets and backsplash can be made. They should have known to avoid this amateurish mistake. It's just totally inexplicable how they could be professionals and still screw such a basic thing like this up! read more

Terrible company. Terrible products. Terrible customer service. We went to their showroom on many occasions, Men at the front desks not kind or helpful. Finally a woman called back, HELENA, NEVER met her. Just phone conversations. She quoted me a price finally and stupid us gave her our CC number. Whenever we called to speak to Helena we were told, she called in sick, she is in a meeting, blah blah blah. Well to make a long story short, it took a long time!!! Installation was poor and off the dimensions. Many pieces missing. When we called out of concern installation not correct, of course not Helena answered but a male .He said and I Qoute, "The pictures you sent shows all correct." Far from it!!!!!!!! was far from fine. But the final shock was when Helena put extra charges on the CC I gave her while I was in the hospital. Totally unauthoried!!!!!!! Saw the sign for this place on 95. Being we are in the midst of beginning a big remodel we decided to stop by. The staff was warm and inviting very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Love this company. I work with Miami companies, so I didn't know who to go do in Delray Beach. Luckily, I heard about Israel and G&M Design. They did the marble in our kitchen, and granite in both bathrooms. Fantastic work. Update: Fern got back to me and she is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they weren't able to work within my budget but I will give them credit for working under a time crunch (or in response to my initial review) to get me the pricing I needed to make a decision. Original review: Their showroom is great and looks like it has a bunch of options... too bad they have zero follow-up skills. Some of my general questions about their product and timeline were answered on the phone but it was a waste of time having the convo if I can't get a price. I sent them a measure and elevations and a list of cabinets from competitors to see if I could get a competitive price, it couldn't have been any simpler or more direct, especially when I said I was willing to make an immediate commitment. I followed up myself multiple times and have yet to receive a response regarding design questions or pricing. They also mentioned that it takes a week for them to cone remeasure than 3-5 to have the product delivered. I went to a local competitor who has great prices, American made product in stock and came to confirm the measure immediately with a 2 week turnaround time for the delivery. read more

I was torn to write this review negatively. We had our kitchen remodeled and bathroom sink and vanity replaced. Everything started out great! Fern and others were very responsive BEFORE we signed on. We would not be onsite and we were promised facetime videos throughout the process to ask us questions and make choices as it moved along. First pics, I noticed the pantry cabinet that was clearly discussed in texts was not there. Also, instead of a regular doored cabinet, we got drawers. After the fact, they offered to halt the project and put the pantry cabinet in the middle of the kitchen, which is not what we wanted. I also agreed to leave the drawers, instead of the regular cabinet. "oh sorry" was the response I received. Also, clearly asked about plans for the "side splash" in multiple texts. Much to my surprise, they just did whatever they felt like, without asking. I was totally available for calls/videos. They also removed marble from a windowsill, replaced it with quartz, without our permission. Never got the marble piece back either. I specifically asked for them to cover the flooring, as we just had it cleaned. Nope. Carpeting was filthy when they were done and there was glue all over the tile in kitchen. We needed a handyman to fix up the sloppy finish work too, The kitchen is good quality. I cant open my refrigerator all they way? Oops in the planning on that one Fern! We didn't get exactly what we wanted and I feel duped about being involved in the process. Get everything clearly in the contract. Do not trust texts if you use this company. read more

The work was wonderful, especially the installers. The only criticism was that the piece of granite that we picked out was 63 square feet and we were quoted by other companies that they needed 48 square feet, including Granite and Marble. Knowing this, I asked for any extra pieces. I went to their shop asking for the excess which should have been 15 square feet approximately. They gave me two small pieces the larger being 8 inches by 2 feet. I feel that since I was charged for 63 square feet, I am entitled to all of the excess. This one aspect of my experience has left me with the feeling of being ripped off. read more

I had a fabulous experience w G & M. They installed a new countertop and backsplash to my kitchen. Looks great!! They were on time (yes, I said they were on time) polite, clean, and went over and beyond. They supplied everyone needed like plumber. They took pictures each time so when I called them they had a picture in front of them to discuss any concerns I had. I will definitely use them again if I need any renovations. I made an appointment and went in and worked with a designer laying out my new kitchen. I actually went in a second time because we ran out of time the first appointment. After spending all that time on a design, the designer was supposed to get back to me with cabinet suggestions after she finished up the design on her computer. She never called me back! I left one message and still she never called me back- I didn't bother to call again because if that was an indication of how they do business, then I definitely did not want to get involved and then be left high and dry! They never ever did call me back after I spent all that time in their design process! I would recommend staying away from this company as they do not care at all about your business! read more

I have never written my opinion before but the undue stress I have endured over the past 6 months compelled me to write. I purchased Daltile counter tops and back splash from G&M Design. Over the years it has yellowed and they came to my home. The Daltile rep stated he had never seen this before. Pictures where taken and later provided. I was told they would make good on the product and every time I have spoken with Danny he states Juan who is the Daltile rep will respond. Initially he did and I provided all that was asked. I have called numerous times, spoken with Danny who continually promises me that Juan would return my call. He has not. The poor communication, failure to respond and provide a resolution when they both specifically informed me they would make good is quite frustrating and disappointing. I recommend doing your research when choosing a company and stay away from G&M. If they make good on my situation, I will amend my comments. read more

Love that all the staff are always wearing masks and gloves! They did an incredible job on my home. Super friendly, and also extremely helpful. The installers were always on time. They gave us a 2 hour time frame and they were always on time and gave us a 30 min heads up. Very happy with this company and their work. My husband and I walked in and walked around even taking pictures of some items we liked. Not one person said hello or asked if we needed help. We even stood in front of the desk of an employee while we took pictures of a bathroom vanity - he was playing on his cell phone. He made eye contact but not a word. Bizarre! DO NOT under any circumstances try to do business with these people. The owner Jose is abusive, and Fern a rookie sales person wrote our order wrong. Phone calls not returned, they show up late EVERY time they actually do show up. A simple counter top & backsplash installation took 9 days to complete. They charge $750 for a plumber to hook up a sink and cooktop, then send a sheet rock guy to do it. But of course he was not able to hook up the cooktop. Why? I have no idea because he spoke noEnglish. Now I have to pay another to hook it up. I spent about $8000 on this installation, reasonable but all the aggravation was not worth 2 weeks of head aches. read more

Worst company I've ever considered letting work in my home. Set appointment, they emailed me to confirm, I took off work, I get home and I have an email from Israel who represents himself on emails as CEO, but he's only an installer. The email stated they don't need to come to my home and emailed me an estimate after no idea of my kichen, or the material I wanted. They never showed, I called many times and spoke to 3 different people with the company, and still have heard nothing. I now have reported them and forwarded all the emails to the Better Business Bureau, and all the Realtor groups I am working with as well as the Chamber of Commerce. Use them and you will have regrets. They do not put the customer first, and they do not make efforts to call or rectify the problems they have caused. Had them cut out for a bigger sink in my kitchen counter as well as for new faucets. Had them plug the old hole for the old faucet. They did an amazing job. Could not see where they patched the hole; they did that great of a job. They cut the granite and installed the new sink and cut the new holes for the faucets w/o any dust going everywhere. They cleaned up. We had put up plastic and there was no dust in the rest of the kitchen. Would definitely recommend them to any one looking to fix or upgrade their counters. read more

One of worst companies ever dealt with. Kitchen renovation, I supplied the appliances. Lied rather than admit errors. Some cabinets don't fit properly and doors scrape sides; one cabinet totally wrong even though produced drawings they made, cabinet had to be cut for a different use and they refused any credit for mistake. They had full info on new frig with measurements but the frig door hits a cabinet when open. Before cabinet cut, the frig door did not open enough for frig drawers to be pulled out. Sliding cabinet drawers do not all slide - some slide back, some don't. Paid for a trash drawer but instead of nice one, they bought a cabinet, took off the door, reconfigured and put in a cheap wire can holder that you get at Lowe's. You must pay in full for the job in advance. I asked what if a problem, they said they would resolve/fix. NOT THE CASE. UNPROFESSIONAL, AWFUL people. Owner/father and son came to see issues, father claims he does not speak English well, son a total jerk and would not admit any errors or agree to fix further. They could have given a small refund on the cabinet which would have been the professional way. The job was over $7000. NEVER USE THEM. read more

We recently had a Flood in our home and have to remodel two bathrooms. I had seen an advertisement for this company so I stopped by. I met with Israel (CEO) and reviewed what I needed. He said he would have his quote to me in 2-3 days. A week later I stopped by the store and they apologized and said they would have the quote to me the following day. The following day came and went so I e-mailed Israel. Once again, he apologized and assured me he would have the proposal by the next day. That was last week and still no signs of a proposal. I e-mailed them and told them not to bother, not that they were showing signs of sending it anyway. He never e-mailed back so I am assuming they must have plenty of business and don't have time for a $10k job. read more

I had an in-home evaluation on 5/2/16 to have the veneer on the bottom corners of my kitchen island repaired/replaced and to have measurements taken for granite installation on two shower cut-outs. They did not call us back to discuss the job or the estimate. We called several times and our phone calls were never returned. Finally on 5/19/16 we called again and insisted to speak to someone regarding the estimate. They replied that the veneer could not be replaced and the entire side board of the island would need to be replaced instead. The representative also stated that if they replaced the veneer, the color would not match. This is not what we were told when we initially came into the show room with pictures and a cabinet for color matching. In fact, he was able to find the same color veneer in their samples. It's obvious that the job was too small for them and not worth their time. This is the reason I believe they never bothered to call and only wanted to do the repairs by making the job bigger and more costly. I should've read some of their other reviews before wasting two weeks of my time. read more
