Hello to all. I am just a former Special Forces guy with not a bone of design or fashion in my body. So after looking through their website, I found a group of pictures they had of some cabinets my wife and I really liked. We tried to upload pictures of our kitchen and all the measurements on their website, however it kept failing. I'm assuming the picture size might of been to large, so I went to the "contact us" and got an email. I then forward my pictures and information to them. A few days later they reply and say they need the "form" that is on their site and can't proceed without it. Mind you I provided them with all the information they needed, other than the information that I would not know. I don't know if I like trim, did the pictures your web site have listed as examples have trim? This is the chat log.

Hi Brian how can I help you
Brian
Hello on feb 17th I sent an email with 4 pictures attached and all the measurments. On the 20 you replied with, "If you are unable to submit your design request online, please print/fill out the form and return via scan/email to this address or fax to 718-701-2527. Once we have all this information we can begin your design request."
and I asked if email isn't a viable way to send in the information? I have not heard back
was someone working on my design or do I need to do something different?
Jessica
Ok, yes I see it here.
The email only included pictures and measurements. We need the full design form filled out. If it cannot be submitted via the website. We will need you to print the form and hand write in the answers, then scan/fax it to us.
Brian
what is on the form that was no supplied?
just curious?
Jessica
The design form includes all questions pertaining to your design. The style you want it in, if you would like moldings, your budget, estimated time for project, etc..
Brian
Like the email stated, we have ZERO design skills, I nor my wife have no clue what we like until we see it, which is why we said in the email this is an open slate, and we said we like the pictures in the Geneva example pictures you have. I don't know if I want moldings, does the example you have in the pictures have molding? Style was listed in the email, Geneva. Budget was informed "open slate". If we knew how to make a great design and everything we wanted, we would just do it, that is why we are reaching out for help.
Jessica
I do understand, however we do ask for that form to be filled out. It is simply yes or no questions or it gives you a drop down of answers. We take that and create the design from it.
Brian
I'm not trying to make this difficult, I would think we would be the perfect customer, open slate and all. Ok, so on the drop down menu on the form you are requesting, is there "I don't know" in the drop down menu?
because we don't know.
Jessica
I apologize, but to begin a design there are questions that the designers will need answers to get a design.
Brian
I understand this is your world, just like if you was to plan a Special Ops mission in Afghanistan, you would probably have "I don't know" listed in a lot of your answers. we are just asking for a nice design, if your company can't do this without a form, I'm sure there are many companies out there that can. Please let me know now you want to proceed.
Jessica
We would love to get you a design, however to do a design, we will need the form filled out. Unfortunately if you cannot, I cannot force you.
Have a great day sir.
Brian

and again, what if we don't know what we want? Are you not understanding? How do we fill out a form with things we want when we don't know? We want whats in the pictures....Or something that looks like that to fit our kitchen. You do realize why menus in restaurants have pictures menus don't you? Do you think they do that because they like making the menu bigger? Its because some guy in a lab coat somewhere figured out that people can decide on things easier with a picture to help guide them. So when you have a picture as reference, and a customer says "we like that" if the picture has moldings, your company isn't smart enough to say, " this guy likes moldings?"
