This was my first experience at a Glowbar and it was wonderful - enough for me to come back multiple times! The area had a cute sink to wash your face in (good for selfies) and then your aesthetician takes you back to your section to begin your treatment. Pros: Super quick (30 mins) which makes it perfect for booking in between your lunch or errands (just remember you can't wear makeup after for the day!) and still go about your day. Staff is helpful and friendly and the treatment feels professional and efficient. Cons: This wasn't really a huge "con" for me, but Glowbar isn't really designed for a "spa-like" or relaxation sort of experience. It's mainly for maintaining skin, and therefore, there isn't usually relaxing music playing and rooms are divided by curtains, so you might hear another client and their aesthetician speaking as you're getting your facial. Also, there aren't really many customization options, it seemed like there were mainly 2. I've had a peel and dermaplaning done by them, both were great, but wish I could try something new. Overall, I really love Glowbar. I've been to this location, and one in Brooklyn and even purchased a gift card from here for a fiend who also loved their experience. I've been a member here for the past few months and have been happy with my treatments! The staff are friendly, facilities are clean, and skin feels less clogged after each visit. Upon walking in, you check in with the receptionist or with the iPads. Make sure you arrive 5 minutes early, so you can wash your face at the wash bar before your treatment. Each appointment is 30 mins and is custom to fit your skin goals for that appointment. I think I've been a member for 5-6 months now and each time, they chose to do a chemical peel, high frequency, and moisturizing mask. They do some extractions but the level of thoroughness varies per aesthetician. It's a good spot if you just want regular facials for maintenance. Otherwise, I don't see a significant improvement in my skin, but going here does keep it at bay. read more

Came here as part of a galentine's date with my girlfriends and had such a great experience! Two of my girlfriends have memberships at Glowbar, and had recommended that we come here. It was totally worth it, and I must say that after our facials, our skin was really glowing all day. The staff is very friendly and greeted us when we walked in. Come in for your appointment about 10-15 min before, so you have time to check-in and wash your face before your facial. There is a sink where you can wash your face with the provided face wash, and dry your face with wash cloths. When you're done, you'll be called in for your facial. This was my first time having a facial done so I was a bit nervous. Diana was my esthetician and she was so sweet and walked me through the process. She was very attentive to my skin concerns and gave me very helpful skin tips and advice. I am usually on top of my skin care routine, but I was breaking out that morning which worked out since I was getting a facial haha. Diana did an amazing job treating my breakouts and my skin overall. My breakouts had definitely calmed down, and I saw a difference in my skin from when I first came in. My face felt so soft and glowy. It is only a 30 min treatment, but it felt long enough because of the relaxing ambiance. After receiving a (phenomenal) facial we realized my mistake as I presented the other company's gift card at the front desk. Glowbar very generously reached out to me 5 minutes after the fact offering to refund me for the entire session because of my own mistake. Place is nice and gives comfy feeling. However, the facial was a bit rushed. It was only 22 minutes for the total in and out. Even 30 minutes is already short, and being cut 8 minutes? Can def use more face message. If that's the time for the beautician to clean her area, shouldn't she given 10 minutes slot time in between clients? However, my face felt clean and moist after. I had one facial and found it underwhelming. It was much more similar to a facial your friend would give you, rather than a spa/treatment facial. Take this with a grain of salt, as again, it was ONE isolated experience and though not negative, not impressive. When you call to cancel your membership, it is not accepted via phone. You are required to write an email. Then when you write the email, you are REQUIRED to take a survey providing feedback, BEFORE your membership is cancelled. As I stated in the feedback box, paying customers should not have to jump through fire hoops to get a cancellation and Glowbar should not reserve the right to mandate explanations prior to cancellations. I am not a 13 year old asking my mom to sign a permission slip. Lastly, I did not get a refund for my August charge despite the fact that I cancelled on 8/2 and never went for the August facial. This was my first experience and visit at Glowbar. I went to UES location, upon arriving once your appointment is confirmed, your temperature will be taken. Next, I was told to wash my face with a facial cleanser, which I love it. My hygienist, Olivia came out and greeted me and took me to the back. I went to glowbar with the following concerns : Extractions and for a boost of hydration The esthetician did not get most of my extractions - she barely scratched the surface of it. I had to come back and extract them myself - which beats the purpose. I felt like my 30 appointment was rushed to about 20 minutes. My esthetician focussed on getting me set up on LED therapy for 7 minutes (research shows that you need to be on it for atleast 10 minutes) and then a high frequency diode to kill bacteria. Between these two machines I felt like there wasn't much left to do and unfortunately they did not help alleviate my concerns. I did see a slight glow after the facial but not enough to justify the cost. I'd rather spend a few additional bucks and get the real deal. Perhaps I just had a bad experience. read more

Let me just start saying that I have been visiting this spa for a couple of months! They perform a very safe environment by asking their clients a few questions before their upcoming appointment. Questions like do you have any type of Fever or feeling feverish (chills, sweating), New cough, Difficulty breathing etc. When you arrive you get your temperature taken and check in with one of the iPads. They also perform social distancing maintaining at least 6 feet between all individuals. You will start with washing your face yourself. Keep in mind that the waiting area is aesthetically beautiful so take a couple of flicks during that time! (Thank me later). They perform a 30 minutes facial with a customized treatment for your skin concerns. Furthermore, My overall experience with Glowbar has been wonderful! Everyone that works here is very kind and welcoming. I had a stellar experience at Glowbar in Tribeca. I went on Friday at 5:00pm to see Kirti P. I've always been interested in facials but I've only gotten one, one other time and it was for an hour with painful extractions and just was not what I would call relaxing lol. I figured for $65, it could be worth looking into. My skincare routine is pretty simple right now (tretinoin) so adding something relatively low cost each month was something I was open to doing if I could see results. I showed up on time for my appointment, washed my face with the iconic Is Clinical cleansing complex (iykyk) and waited about ~30 seconds until Kirti came to get me! She introduced herself and took me to a small, private room where I was able to lay down and relax. She walked me through the process and asked my current skincare routine + products. She was really familiar with all the ones I was using and gave me some recommendations to help with some of the issues I was having. The facial part itself was great! It felt like just enough time. We started with a lactic acid mask, followed by extractions using a device that is activated with water? While extractions are never pleasant, these were much less painful and felt quicker. Then ended with a hydration mask and sunscreen. The part where I could've done more research was on the tip. Services can be tricky because it can be inconsistent and is very subjective based on the service. Doing my research now, I should've done at least 10% but probably 15% so don't make the mistake I did! Tip generously! I wrote this review to show my appreciation for her skills. They also don't allow any lateness in appointment: if you are late for 5 minutes, they cancel your appointment immediately because they schedule their appointment very close to each other. I was once a skeptic - wondering if facials were really worth the money and if a 30 minute facial could even make a difference. After routinely visiting Glowbar for several months now, I can confidently say that it is worth every penny. I was recommended a skincare routine to follow and appreciated that each esthetician took the time to understand 1) my skin needs, 2) that I wasn't looking for something super high maintenance and 3) my budget. I've always been given lower through upper range options so that I could make the best choice for myself. I've also never felt pressured to purchase anything. Even during my first visit, knowing little to nothing about skincare, the esthetician was so patient with my questions and not dismissive of any of my concerns. Over the past few months, I've gone from dry and acne prone skin all over my face to having only very small and extremely short-lived breakouts in just a couple remaining "problem areas". Overall, my old acne scars and dark spots have significantly faded and I've seen a very noticeable improvement in texture and brightness. I've yet to have a bad experience with any esthetician. Yes, some extractions hurt a little more than others but I've always left feeling so refreshed and more confident about my skin. Don't walk, run to Glowbar! I've seen this place hyped up on social media and had to check it out. I don't have "problem" skin but definitely lots of blackheads/congestion, some breakouts that lead to scarring and pigmentation. I want a place I can go to monthly that is efficient, effective for my skin (and where I can feel alittle pampered too) while being inexpensive. Glowbar gives me all that! I went to my first session today and immediately signed up for the membership afterwards. The membership is 55$ per month whereas you get 1 30 min facial, 10% retail products etc. If you're not a member, the facial is 65$. 55$ for a facial is honestly a steal, especially with everything I get done in the 30 min! The place is very clean and you start out by washing your face at the sinks. An esthetician grabs you after and we discussed what I wanted to accomplish in my session. We started out with a lactic acid peel for exfoliation and then a softening mask to get ready for extractions. The extractions weren't too painful and she got a ton of gunk out from around my nose and chin! Afterwards, she used a hydration mask and placed me under LED lights for collagen production. Lastly, she applied moisturizer and SPF. I was GLOWING after! The place plays great "throwback" music. The ~vibes~ are immaculate. I really like that the survey you have to fill out before your first session asks how much banter you prefer to have during the session. It was great that the esthetician explained all the treatments to me but I'm not someone who wants to talk a lot during the session in general and they respected that. read more

Arrived 1 minute after the grace period and my appointment was canceled even though I called prior and said I will be arriving 1 minute late. Came a very far way from new jersey to get treated at this place. I would never turn someone away that called to explain they would be 1 minute late. Now I understand rules are rules however I worked in customer service 10 years + I would have at least offered a shortened session. It would have been up to me to pay full price but at least I would have had the option to do so. I waited 30 minutes around and still no customers came in. I understand with covid things need to be sanitized but would have one minute really made a difference? Pluses: the aesthetician was very nice. The no-frills assembly line approach cd be great in terms of efficiency and cost savings. Minuses: no extractions were done at all. Instead the aesthetician used a sonic skin scraper, which did nothing - my pores were still clogged after the session was over. So, first the skin scraper (useless), then an acid peel (which truly felt like nothing), then a laser light thing, and the aesthetician left while that was on. Skin did not look smoother or more even afterwards, as it normally would after a facial. Not much time or effort was expended by the aesthetician. Not worth the cost savings to go here I'm afraid. I had my first appointment today and I wasn't sure what to expect. There was obvious things not do such coming with a full face of makeup. You have to wash your hands and then your face with their cleanser before your session. I mentioned to my hygienist the issues with my face skin and we agreed an extraction and LED treatment was best. Extractions are painful especially around the nose (I teared up a bit) but I love how much better my nose looks. So disappointed with the treatment. I was very excited to try the facial here after reading the reviews. I love getting these treatments and since I moved to a new place, I did not want to drive to my old esthetician who is amazing. This place is clean and check in was easy. I was there few minutes before the treatment as they had mentioned and filled a check in form. I was asked to wash my face and my esthetician took me in for the facial and she was sweet. They have a 30 minute timer for the whole treatment. She asked me about my routine and all products I use that took away few minutes. I asked for a dermaplanning as I did not get any suggestion from her after seeing my skin and that took more than 20 minutes. And all I got after that was a lactic acid mask. Of course a moisturizer and sunscreen as it was 30 minutes by then. She did everything so quickly as we were running out of time. Mask was on for 3 minutes or so. And I paid $65 for this. I wish she talked about my skin and had spoken about the treatment she was doing. It's been a day and I don't really see any difference. I am not sure if it was effective and worth the money. I've been wanting to try this trendy spot for a while, which has a very cool concept but does not completely execute. My esthetician seemed very nice and knowledgable, but it just didn't seem like they're designed to take care of actual issues. My main concern was blackheads/extractions. She removed about three blackheads (while I'm flattered trust me I have many more) and we spent the rest of the time doing masks. lotions and lighting. I could have done all of that at home for 1/20th of the cost. It was also anything but relaxing and set up as more of a factory. The rooms are separated by curtains so you hear all the noise and conversations happening around you. If you're looking for 30 minutes of being slightly pampered while smelling nice things being put on your face you'll be happy. If you truly need a real facial, splurge for a whole hour somewhere else. They really aren't that cheap for only 30 minutes. For an extra $20 I could have gone to the salon by me, had an entire hour and walked out blackhead free. I'll be needing to do that anyway sooner rather than later. I usually don't do reviews unless I get to experience the service but I'm pretty pissed. I got a gift card for my birthday from a friend and wanted to treat myself before my vacation so I made an appointment for Friday morning at 10:30 or so I thought. I spelled out my email letter by letter on the phone because it often gets misspelled and they told me that they would send me a confirmation. Friday morning I realized there was no email so I called at 10:10ish since I live closeish to confirm and they said my appointment was at 10:20. Since I wasn't going to be on time I asked if it was ok if I was late and the woman on the phone told me as long as I wasn't more than 10 minutes it was fine otherwise the facial would have to be adjusted. Me wanting to still fit it in, paid for an uber to cross town and got there at 10:30. When I got there she told me that since I was late and she wanted me to get the best experience she was going to have to reschedule me and of course there's nothing else available today. I'm sorry, you messed up the confirmation, explicitly told me it's fine to be 10 minutes late (especially considering circumstances) and then allow me to waste both my time and money to come all the way there to tell me to reschedule. I get late customers can't be accommodated sometimes but then DONT TELL ME ITS OK AND WASTE MY TIME. Moral of the story- make sure you call to confirm your own appointments. Honestly the only reason I'd ever go to glow bar again is because I want to use the gift card but if I do go back it'll probably be to the UES location even if it's 30 minutes further. read more

I'm an intern at Glowbar and had my first treatment a couple weeks ago. I absolutely loved the experience and my esthetician, Kathleen! I've always been hesitant about facials because I have such sensitive skin but at Glowbar, the estheticians do a skin-analysis beforehand to assess your skin concerns (mine are sensitivity, dryness, & acne) and treat accordingly. Kathleen was amazing--she did dermaplaning, a brightening peel, LED, and recommended some great products. When I left my skin was visibly glowing and in the next couple weeks, a lot of my acne disappeared. The team at Glowbar is the best. Everyone so friendly & knowledgable about skincare.
