I got my brows shaped several times, had my makeup done and received a make up lesson from the owner Natalie, had semi permanent eyelash extensions for some trips I took, and also a spray tan. I'll start this by saying, I am a strange customer for this place. Number 1, I don't like wearing makeup! (Of course I like taking pictures in it.. I haven't lost my mind completely.) The other day I heard about lash tinting and was SO excited. What? My light brown lashes can be dyed black?!?!? Eureka! No more mascara for me unless I go out at night. I remembered seeing Gloss down the street from my work and decided to check it out. Mia did the tinting and is such a doll! It was simple, looks SO fantastic and only took 20 minutes total. Everyone in this salon is extremely nice and professional. They do a variety of services; waxing, spray tans, mani pedi's, gel nails, make up and I don't even know what else. Natalie and Kristen are both brilliant at what they do. I see Natalie every two weeks. It's mandatory. I've gone to many great eyebrow artists, and they have all said I have the worst eyebrows ever. They're thick, they're unevenly shaped, they grow in all helter-skelter, there are weird patches, things never grow in the same...it's a nightmare. The best I could do in high school, before I had any awareness that you could actually pay people money to do it for you, is pluck so much that I was forced to be Goth to make it work. Seriously. I have to entrust myself to professionals. Good professionals. I've been to the big name salons like Valerie (skilled, but the golddiggery is just dripping from the walls), Anastasia (where they process you like cattle for just a "meh" job), and Bobbi Brown (who wanted me to grow in caterpillars, no thank you). I've gone to whoever was being raved about in the magazines or voted "best" by a reader's poll. I've asked for recommendations from friends with difficult brows. No one has done a better job than Natalie. She listens to my preferences and immediately we were on the same wavelength - shaped but not pencil-thin, as thin as it gets before I start looking like a weirdo. I even followed her from her previous salon, and now I drive from Orange County every other week. I refuse to go through the cycle of trying someone new and coming back with my tail between my legs any longer. They also do the spray-tan with the "gun", which is miles better than the booth. Maybe after I've been to the gym for a few more months. And they are great at make-up for special events and otherwise - the airbrush foundation is absolutely natural-looking but covers all the flaws. Sometimes they're a little heavy on the bronzer/blush for me, but I'm sort of a make-up wallflower as far as that goes. read more

I was getting my hair done (I drive to L.A. for that, too) and realized I was "due", so I called and was able to cruise in and see Kristen within minutes! Jessica was my makeup artist and she did an absolutely fantastic job both on my makeup and my brows. She managed to perfectly balance providing a natural look while still "glamming" me up for the wedding. My only regret is that I wish I knew about Gloss and Jessica prior to my own wedding-they are awesome! Love love love these gals...their WORK(!)...their studio...their product....their location...but MOST of all their ATTITUDE AND MENTALITY! Its no wonder they are so successful at such a young age!!! You sit with them for 5 minutes and you want to hang out with them EVERYDAY. They did my make up for a celebrity charity event this weekend and I looked smokin' if I do say so myself :). WOW!!! That's the word I need to use to start this review. Natalie and Lida just work magic. I went there yesterday with my whole party to have our make up done - we were 8 people. They started on time and just kept going - no breaks. My experience in the past with make up artists was that they did whatever they wanted even when I told them what I wanted. But that is not the case here. Both Natalie and Lida listened to what each of us wanted and they delivered. We all wanted the glitter eyeshadow but they made each of us look unique. Natalie also did make up for my 13 year old and it was so subtle but yet stunning. Their make up is simply flawless - we all received so many compliments last night. I havent been to this studio for makeup......only for waxing with Daniela. Daniela gave me the best waxing I have ever had!! I did full legs, underarms, Brazilian waxing, and face. Her waxing products are excellent! I have to say that I usually get allergic reactions to waxing products but with Daniella's products, I feel that my skin got even better. I also have to say that it is not an easy experience for me to do Brazilian waxing....it usually hurts and I feel really uncomfortable. However, Daniella makes it much easier. If she sees that you are uncomfortable, she will do her best to make jokes and talk to distract you. By the time she is finished, you will not even realize the time went by without any pain or discomfort! Daniella is the best provider of waxing services in Los Angeles, hands down! This is why I drive all the way from Woodland Hills to see her. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who likes quality. P.S. She is Brazilian and perfect to do Brazilian style waxing. She was trained in Brazil and in the U.S. and she does a wonderful job....I have even heard that she has movie star clients (!!)but she remains discreet about it.
