Ordered a coffee.she went to the back room and came back with a luke warm coffee? Wife orders a tea. She never asked what type. Also got this Luke warm tea from the back room . It had milk in it. Wife ordered it without milk. The server was so bad we just decided to leave. It felt like we were putting her out. This was at 5pm . No one lease was there. No paper napkins . To paper towels in the bathroom. I was looking for the camera expecting to be pranked. The place was nice and cosy and maybe it's better when the morning rush is on. read more

There was a change in management about a year ago; and this location has been terrible ever since. Slow service, unpersonable staff, and what was once a cozy coffee shop now has more bricabrac and Karen-esque trinkets than space for coffee. Staff who aren't practicing good hygiene have had me cancel two recent orders; and I haven't been back since. What was once my favorite hidden coffee shop in town has become location non gratis. read more

I was traveling through and didn't have time to read reviews. My mocha latte tasted like hot cocoa. My husband asked for plain coffee and when she started pouring milk I asked what she was doing, she said a cappuccino. $11 for both. No food available. Too many mugs for sale. Starbucks is across the street but was trying to support local shops. read more

literally everytime I come here they aren't open. I've been trying to use 1 gift card since Christmas. I know they're open as the menu changed to fall items but seriously it's a Thursday afternoon at 3pm and the doors are locked and lifts are off. Hours on the door say 9-6pm Mon-Sat. Funny how anytime I come between those hours yall never wanna be open. I'd go to the mall but it's specifically for your location so I'm just SOL I guess. Tomato toMAto, right? No, not every latte is the same. And if you get to Gloria's totally overwhelmed by their 4 boards full of coffee selections, espresso, chilled, whole bean, the staff will be more than happy to walk you through it. I'm told certain espresso machines are better than others...maybe a Barista babe or bro reading this will appreciate that they operate a La Marzocco. All I know, is my latte had espresso in it and IT perked me right up! This weary traveler was close to St. Louis, her destination, and that latte helped me on the final stretch. Do you like uppity caffeinated sugary hot or cold drinks for $5? Yeah, I'm kind of addicted to and Gloria Jean's in North Normal delivers. Happy Points: They have more syrup flavors than $tarbucks and quite creative frozen slushish drinks too. Bonus: When you order they bring it out to the table you're sitting at. Nice touch :-) Bonus Bonus: Outlets line the long bench so you won't have a problem getting your electric on. Negative: Glitchy itchy wi-fi. It's free but temperamental like tween girl. Be sure to walk up to the sign at the counter and get the code to get into the wi-fi. And despite what the sign says, do NOT capitalize the c Positive: Its not at the mall so you do not have to deal with screaming kids! Read the previous Yelp reviews before coming in and was a little worried, but my experience was great! They were busy but I still ordered and got my coffee and treat within 5 min. The medium flat white was a little funny tasting, can't quite describe it, but ok. The pumpkin bar was delicious! The inside was very clean and modern. The baristas were friendly and acknowledged me as I walked in even though they were busy at the drive through. I appreciated the mutual respect. It's nice to have other options for coffee. Nice people, great coffee. I will never complain about something that is obviously a 1-time mistake. I'm writing to protest the egg-and-cheese bagel. The stupid thing has no egg yolk! None. They use the cheese to hide that fact. In my case, I de-select the cheese, so the naked egg white is expose for the fraud that it is. I didn't discover this until I was back on the highway. Next time I am in town, I will inquire about this matter. One might argue that this is a single, small matter. But the commercial world is flooded with little cheats like this, and at the end of the day, they accumulate to a tidy pile of disdain for the marketplace. I never expected Gloria Jean's to pull a cheap stunt like this. read more

I really liked this place but this morning I went and they didn't listen to my order then gave me the wrong drink. I go to Gloria Jean's mostly because it is a convenient location for me. The last few times I went inside, the workers were very nice and made good suggestions when I didn't know exactly what I wanted. I have never been dissatisfied with the way my drink has tasted when going here, so I feel that it's sometimes worth the splurge. The only thing negative I could say is that they can be a little slow getting your order ready, especially in the morning in the drive-thru. read more

Had not had Gloria Jean's since I was a teenager. We stopped by on our way home from vacation and the chiller's we both received were TERRIBLE. The taste was off, they were only half blended. The bottom of the Chiller was just liquid and the top was still full of chunks of ice. I did not finish mine it was so bad. Definitely will stick with Starbucks from now on. The employee's at this location need a class on how to properly make your drinks. read more

First, I really love Gloria Jean's First place I saw getting off the plane in Australia was Gloria Jean's! Glorious home away from home! And I really loved this Gloria Jean's for years. It was our go-to place after our annual training camp - Leave camp on Sunday afternoon, get a chiller and get ready for the long ride home. Problem one: They are now closed on Sundays. OK, I get it - businesses have to be open when there's business, and maybe Sunday afternoon isn't profitable. So having to be in Bloomington on a weekday, we made a point of driving out of the way to get a GJ on a weekday morning! Glorious chiller in the middle of the summer! Woo-hoo! OK, it's really dark inside - the LED lights don't illuminate the place, and with the dark decor it's quite gloomy - and all the food in the case looks old and nasty (maybe it was fake food for the display? But it should look attractive, shouldn't it?) But hey, it's GJ, and it's been a year and I really was looking forward to a chiller after so long! Problem two: We get there, and there's only one person behind the counter, trying to fill orders for the counter and the drive through. So the 10+ minute wait to get 2 drinks was understandable. (No apologies, though, from the counter person who looked thoroughly flustered and very unhappy.) The unhappiness was understandable - there were three more people in the back who were doing... well, other stuff. Lots of chatting, lots of laughing - not lots of serving. Problem three: Finally we get our drinks - and they are the wrong size. Since the server threw out our receipt (without asking if we wanted it) we didn't know if we were charged for the right items and they made them wrong ( they insisted they made the order and we weren't overcharged). OK, two strikes against them, but it's a chiller, right? They're delicious - right? Problem four: The chiller was awful. Absolutely awful. Bitter, watery, not really cold, with a faintly chalky undertaste of some sort of preservative or filler or something... I took two sips, couldn't get rid of the aftertaste, and threw it out. My companion's drink was overly sweet, but he drank it anyway (but it took him almost two hours to get through it.) All in all, I'm glad they are closed on Sundays; I don't have to revisit the site of all my fond memories being quashed by unpleasant, uncaring, overworked servers and lousy drinks. read more

I came in this morning to order a large Coco Loco . Waited about 10 minutes and got the wrong drink . I went inside and said I ordered a coco loco and the woman apologized then asked if I knew what was in it because she didn't know how to make it.... Since I didn't know I asked if I could just get something else so I got the Chocolate Caramel Avalanche. Waited another 10 minutes and it was the wrong drink again . No caramel, no flavor other than strong coffee. I'm Aggravated that I spent 8 $ for a drink that was disgusting, not what I ordered two times in a row , and had to wait 20 minutes for . I felt bad for the woman working . She was alone and clearly unsure of how to make both things I ordered and said her manager wasn't in to help. It seemed like she was googling recipes for the drinks on her phone. Frustrated with this experience and I think either more employees need to be present or you need to make sure your employees know how to make the drinks that they serve . Was 10 minutes late to work and both times I did not get the drink I ordered :( read more

This has been my favorite place to get iced coffee since I was in high school!! So glad they added a more convenient location than in the mall!! Best coffee in town!! My favorite is the white chocolate caramel cookie chiller! read more
