Globus doesn't care that hurricane Ian completely disrupted my travel plans...ft. Myers airport was closed, which I fly out of, no power, no water, no food so I had to cancel...so with my house damaged I was charged a $2700 penalty. Way to go Globus.I can't describe how ruthless you operate.here is proof of what you did to me.

For our wedding anniversary, my husband and I used to go to Northern California and then Hawaii. For 2013, we decided to go to Europe. I'm the one who usually books the trips, (hotel, car, activities, food etc). Well, this time around, I was feeling so overwhelmed! Not only were we going to travel overseas, but we wanted to go to different counties. Since I've never been to Europe, I had to research currencies, language, transportation, you name it! I finally gave up and decided to book a tour. (Yeah, we had a chance we were going to get stuck with a group of retired folks, but better than a bunch of college kids... Contiki Tours). My initial thought was to book with Trafalgar. I had every brochure you could think of. So at the end it was between Trafalgar and Globus. What got me with Globus was their free WiFi on their tour bus! During those long rides, we could use our iPhones! It was a pretty simple process. You chose the tour you want and you can book it online as well as the flights (which is optional). I booked our trip in November 2012 for our tour in May 2013 and was able to make payments. I reside in California and the office that I dealt with was in Littleton, CO Everything was taken care of (all transportation including train tickets, water taxi, bus, airport shuttle, hotel bookings, breakfast, most dinners, entrance fees, gratuity for the porters). Our group was pretty mixed. People on their 50th and 20th wedding anniversaries, young couples, parents with teenagers, solo travelers. We actually met an older couple there from Ohio and became friends with them. (the wife reminded us of my husband's mom! LOL) It was nice being able to see so many places in a short amount of time. Note that if you are looking for a relaxing vacation, this is NOT for you! You are always on the go! But you get to hit the biggest attractions in each city. However, Globus offers more independent and slow paced trip options via Monograms. We had this during the last part of our trip in Southern Italy. It was a lot more relaxing and you get to do whatever you want. There is a guide that comes to the hotel every morning if you need assistance or want to purchase tickets or need transportation somewhere. I would do it again in a heart beat! However, now that I have a lot more experience traveling in Europe, I think I can do it on my own next time!

We found a rat in our hotel room. We had to move three rooms in three nights. Very overpriced for the service they provide.

Also, without the incredible knowledge of our tour director and tour guides we would have missed so much of the history and back stories about the places we saw.

Our accommodations were above and beyond what we would have hoped for. Our Safari lodge Ulusaba was the perfect location to see all the wild animals. We even had an elephant drinking from our private pool! September was the perfect time of year to go with mild temperature and minimal bugs. Amanda made her self available for anything needs we had while we were abroad. Amanda has planned a few of my international trips and I plan on having her arrange my trips in the future!

But either travel has gotten more complicated in the forty years since that was true, or my mental and energy levels have declined. Either way, if I'm taking a trip, I need knowledgeable help. I found Amanda to be the person to go to for that help. I recently completed a trip to New York City. I found the concept more than a little intimidating, so turned to Amanda for planning assistance. She found a hotel in a location that was both safe and convenient. Based on two or three conversations, she put together a detailed plan, filled with not only times, dates, places, and tickets, but with detailed information on what to expect at each chosen location and tips on how to get there. She also revised the plan based on changes I made in my plans. Unlike what I'd have found in a published guide, Amanda was always available to clarify what this or that bit of information meant. Her services were not limited just to planning, but to advice and problem-solving during the stay, including resolving an issue with the hotel within an hour of my learning of it and before I even reached the hotel. At times I felt as if I must have been her only client, so high was her attention level; but, in fact, she warned me on the day of the great worldwide computer snafu not to expect responses as quickly as I'd come to expect because she was shepherding people home from all over the world. (I still got my question answered in just a few hours.) Her follow-ups before, during, and after the journey told me that this was more than an occupation or a business to her, but that Amanda Scout genuinely cares about the quality of her clients' experiences.
