I didn't have much behind-the-wheel experience when I started (collectively, ~2 hrs), but they didn't mind spacing my sessions out so I could get more time on the road between sessions, which I really appreciate. After each in-car lesson, they sent me off with a paper giving details about what I did well and what I need to work on. I found that to be incredibly useful for the maneuverability test, especially. My teacher was also super open to helping accommodate a space for my sensory issues while I took the written test, I just had to speak with her!

I have exciting news!!! I am so over excited due to the fact that i finally purchase my first car…read more I set goals this year and I followed them threw. The first goal was to work on driving. After researching different driving schools I came across Westland Driving School. The price was affordable and the amount of hours for each lesson was better than the other schools. My driver instructor was Rob. He was patient, calm, very informative when it came to the rules of the road. When I did make mistakes he reinsured me that it was ok that mistakes are made by everyone. When helping me with my mistakes he was patient and made sure to explain to me what I did wrong and how to correct those mistakes. For example the maneuverability test, looking over your shoulder for blind spots when moving into the right and left lanes, 4 way stops, making turns in the intersection when its rush hour, driving on freeways (which makes me nervous), paying attention to my speed limits, road signs (especially those on the freeway) and parking just to name a few. After my first couple of lessons with Rob I was driving like a Pro. I took a few more lessons to get over being nervous and to be more comfortable on the road especially when many people do not follow road rules. With the extra lessons I took with Rob I was able to work on my defense driving which was very important to me cause it help me be a better and safer driver when others are not being cautious. I did 6 lessons that gave me a total of 12 hours of driving. This was the only driving I was able to get since I had no one to take me driving due to availability. Even my Grandma was shocked by how good I was driving since the last time we drove was last fall and we had to drive in the cementary due to me being afraid to drive along side other cars. But Rob cured me of my road fright and I passed the maneuverability test with a score of 19/25 and the road test with a score of 90/100. Thanks to Rob being my instructor I got my license. I am no longer scared to drive and I finally got a car. I recall all the things he taught me. Now I can explore the town and other places without relying on a bus and other people. I can take myself to work and other places and now I can look for other jobs and do not have to turn a job down due to a lack of transportation. Thanks Rob!!!
