After purchasing a month membership and lotion, spending over $150.00 here, I came in to tan on a Sunday morning and had a pretty poor experience. I asked to throw away a personal pan old pizza box and an envelope. The receptionist was blunt, rude and not helpful. She said she wasn't aloud to throw trash away if it once had food in it and couldn't even direct me to the nearest trash by the salon. The palms is a great place to get a tan. They have a bunch of different options for tanning, (spray or bed) which allows for me to get the same dark color as the people who can lay in beds. I love that they have several different types of spray tans because depending on the event, I may want something different. I have been a frequent customer of all the palms tanning resorts down south for a while now, so I was completely excited when I found out they were opening one down the street from me. And they did not disappoint! The new palms is even more beautiful, open, and quite a lot larger than its sister resorts. They have a large variety of beds all of which are decorated... well like a tropical tanning resort, complete with water fall, and sand. For those who spray tan they have a mystic hd, and supply some extra touches like lotion, wipes for hands & feet, and nets to protect your hair. Being a college student, I try my very best to shop around and find the best deals. This spot tops them ALL! This is the only location that offers half of single sessions for college student && faculty. I loved how I was not at all pressured to become a member or buy their products. In addition to that, they give you goggles to use, plus you can leave your lotion there so that you will never forget it (dont trip they put your name on it). The atmosphere is so cool. I know at other places its like you go into a little closet and lay in a tanning bed then run off. But here its so pretty and relaxing i wanted to be sure that i would come back again. It was more like a spa instead of a tanning salon. If you havent been here.... well you really need to. Last, the front desk attendant was just casual.. no rehursed introduction and why everyone should become a member. I told her was i wanted and she said "totally, sounds good". I couldn't believe how much I liked this spot! I was feeling a little bit of shell shock from being treated terribly at 'At the Beach' so I didn't know what to think about Palms. But I was very pleasantly surprised. I wasn't pressured into buying a package and the girl working the counter answered all of my questions and helped me out. Let me start by saying that I am not a tanning regular (to say the least)! I am going on vacation in a few weeks and I wanted to try to get a decent base so I didn't spend my whole vacation sunburnt and miserable. I had been to the Palms nearly a decade ago, but not since so when I decided to tan, I wanted to give it a try. I am so glad I did. I walked in with NO knowledge of what I needed, how often I needed to come or what level/time to do. The lovely woman at the front desk - I wish I remembered her name so I could call her out specifically - listened to me babel, helped me pick out the right package and taught me all the ropes again. Even when there was a slight issue (that wasn't an issue at all, really), she swiftly assigned me to another room and added an upgrade to my account. It may be slightly more pricey than some of the more gimmicky salons, but in just one visit I saw why it was worth every dollar. By far the best tanning salon in Denver! I started coming here a few years ago to get ready for my own wedding and have recently signed on for another package with a busy summer ahead of beach vacations and 10+ wedding events. They have an amazing selection of beds, and I am so thrilled with the results especially for someone who used to burn, I have never burnt in any of their beds. I especially love coming here because of the staff. They are so kind and helpful with any questions I have and helped me to decide which package would work best for me and a lotion best for the tan I was looking to achieve. This is the nicest tanning salon I've ever been to! (And I've been to a lot in multiple cities.) Atmosphere is a HUGE thing for me in all aspects of my life. I truly appreciate when a business goes above and beyond the norm to create a unique and awesome experience. They don't have to make each of the tanning booths look like a resort postcard, but they did. They don't have to be nice and respectful to every customer, but they are. So disappointed... This is so close to where I live, and the facility itself looked really nice, BUT: -it's MUCH more expensive than it's competitors. Much, much, much. -I asked the woman working there how long she would recommend I tan. I told her that I haven't tanned at all in years, that I'm very fair skinned (which she could see), and that I burn easily. I threw out 3-4 minutes as a starting point and told her I wanted to be *sure* I didn't burn. She said that was far too little time and assured me that there was no way I would burn if I went for 7 minutes in a Fiji bed. Guess what - I had burns all over my body, which are now peeling. So, now, $30some later, I'm worse off than I was when I started! Argh. read more

I have been tanning at the various Palms locations since high school and I was thrilled to about the expansion of the company, especially to a location so much closer (although they are worth the commute). The new store is huge!! And so beautiful inside. I also like this store because it is so open and not as crowded so I can be in and out in no time! I would to start out by saying I have been a customer of The Palms since 2012. Here are some basics: - they offer spray and uv - they to have great deals in summer and winter - they have 6 different levels of tanning beds - beautiful environment - no stress sales associates - beds are always clean - they provide eye wear, hair spray, and spray deodorant in every room - there is a stereo with headphones in every room - no contracts! I started off spray tanning in the summer of 2012. I only paid $12 to spray tan because they offer 1/2 off to college students for single sessions. It didn't get much better than that. I decided to start UV tanning in summer of 2013. I decided to take advantage of their endless summer deal where I was able to tan in their level one bed for 3 months for ~$100. Once again, I was a happy camper. I was also able to tan in their level 6 bed (which is literally amazing) which made tanning in the level 1 bed almost depressing. Every person who tans knows . . . once you tan in some amazing beds, it's hard to go back! So spring of 2014 I decided to tan for 3 months in their level 3 bed. I was pretty happy with the bed for the most part. I will say, it seemed like every time I went into the salon I would have to wait for the bed because there is only 2 of the level 3s in the salon. After my 3 month expired, I decided to try the level 4 bed for 3 months. Unfortunately, I didn't know that there is only 1 level 4 bed in the salon which meant I spent a lot of time waiting around for that bed. Because of this, I decided to change my membership from 3 months to 1 month, though the only way to do this is to email the owner directly (because for some reason the sales associates are not able to?). Luckily, the owner is very responsive and understanding. Here are some other things to know: - sale associates don't make small talk. Ever. They usually only ask for last name and first name. - this place is expensive--plain and simple - don't ever expect to get upgraded. They are quick to offer a lower level bed or for you to wait over 20 minutes for your bed (even when the salon is completely dead and the only other person in the salon happens to be in your bed) read more

I have been a very loyal Palms customer for over five years now and I just recently relocated closer to this particular Palms location. I am FUMING after what happened today when I went to tan. I'm not one to call out a person publicly but this is the last straw. There is a girl that works there (she was working the closing shift (I'm assuming), Sunday December 6). I walk in and am not greeted nor acknowledged at all. I end up greeting her once reaching the counter and she absolutely disregards me and stares at me then asks very rudely what my last name is. I tell her, and she again stares at me blankly. I then tell her what bed I would like and how long, yada yada yada. Once she says which room- I say "thank you!" as would any customer when being helped... nothing but a blank face. When I finish my session, I walk by her at the desk; no goodbye, no thanks for coming in, no smile. So I say "bye, thanks again!" and nothing is said back. I have never experienced such awful customer service in my life and this isn't the first time from this particular girl. That is why I'm sending this review in. Please give your employees a lesson in people skills and/ or customer service or terminate the gals that simply do not care. The paying customer should not have to be the one doing the employees job, that is ridiculous and I'm strongly considering relocating to another tanning place just because of how rude some of the girls at this location are. read more

To start, I wish I could give 3.5 stars but that's beside the point. I've been going to the Arapahoe and DU locations for a little over a year and I do prefer The Palms over the other available tanning salons in the Denver area (which, let's be real, there isn't any GREAT places). Good locations, always clean, nice decor, great beds - the physical aspects are all there. However, I relate it to someone who is pretty to look but not so great with the personality part. A handful of the front desk girls are decently friendly, they say hello and ask for your name, and that simple gesture brightens my day. Unfortunately, more often than not the girls don't say a single word and they just stare at you; I know the drill of giving you my name but I refuse to just yell out my name without the common decency of a "Hello," let alone a (gasp) "How are you today? Oh I'm good as well, those Broncos are kicking butt!" So being the quasi passive aggressive person that I am, I play dumb and stare blankly back and make it about as awkward as possible in the hopes that they'll eventually get the hint. I know many customers are the surly-get-to-the-point types, but they secretly would appreciate a sincere "How is your day." I'm writing this review as I'd love for this to change, but I'm well aware that it will not and yet I'll still continue going due to the lack of other options. read more

Horrible experience at their store in the tech center (Greenwood Village). Got sold on a mystic tan. Very little instruction on how to use the booth. Also when it only gave me a minor shade change they said they would try again at no expense. I returned only to be greeted another attendant who said it was not their policy to refund or try it again. The manager refused to return my phone calls. Summary is it is a bad product that they don't stand behind and their customer service is horrible. My experience was at the Greenwood Village Palms Tanning Resort and this critique is specific to that store. read more

I couldnt be happier with tanning at The Palms, ive been tanning here almost a couple years now. By no means is it close to my home, however, I will drive here because I enjoy it so much! The atmosphere is my favorite, I literally feel like im walking into a tropical resort and going on a mini vaca! Pricing is typical for tanning, I find it better to pay the price I pay month by month instead of getting stuck in some sort of annual contract that you may or may not want to stay in 5 months down the road. I dont tan all year, so this month to month option works best for me. Employees are always friendly and ive never had to wait for a bed like some major tanning locations where ive sat for 20-30 min. while waiting to get in one... First let me start by saying I have been tanning for over 25 years and believe I am a pretty good judge of what is not so good, good and great. When I walked in the door until I went home, I can say this is a GREAT tanning "experience". Now, for people who have been doing this for awhile, you know what I mean. Have you ever felt claustrophobic when entering a "closet" to tan? You will be pleasantly surprised to find the rooms are not only immaculate, but are well appointed and quite large. They have various sundries in each room along with goggles and a docking station/headphones to listen to your own music. I do have to differ with one reviewer that believes it is too expensive. I found the packages you can purchase are more than reasonable, and they don't need a horrible commercial to get you in the door to bait and switch. I purchased a monthly-unlimited package and have been going almost every day in preparation for an upcoming vacation. There has NEVER been a time I was not greeted with a smile and was in "my" room in a matter of minutes. There are lotion specials being run all the time, and great contests you can enter for some free tanning. I am so happy I found The Palms and know you will be too! Try it, what do you have to lose? Really disappointed as I think the Palms is a quality tanning salon. We own some other businesses and have always been extended their "neighbor discount". (which is 50% off and the bed we use is $35 anyways so they get $17 a pop every time) Recently they have changed their policy and have asked that paycheck stubs be shown. I understand this as I wouldn't want discounts to be abused either. My fiance has always been extended this as well as a courtesy as she is not on payroll but has always helped with events and so forth. She now does not "qualify" and when I recently went in was asked to show my pay stub. I was patient and fortunately just processed payroll and showed her (co-owner with her husband) my pay stub. I also reminded her that we also offer a 25% discount at our businesses for all the Palms employees and family members. She was fairly rude and I would think most business owners would communicate the new "policy" change and say something to the effect of "Why don't we go ahead and let you use it this time and next time please bring in a pay stub".....makes logical sense for those of us that don't happen to carry our pay stubs with us on a daily basis, right? Nope. My fiance was shunned away and I have now chosen not to do business nor recommend anyone I know to do business with them.
