I've been waxing for yeeears and finally decided to take the plunge and opted for laser hair removal. I chose Hellenic Laser Spa for two main reasons: first being the recommendation of a friend that comes here, second being they have a great Groupon offer ($79 for six sessions). Upon calling to schedule my first appointment I found out that for a bikini area there was a slight up charge ($39 per treatment) just due to the surface area to be treated. Not a big deal; still cheaper in the long run than waxing! Plus they will honor their Groupon pricing even if you don't purchase it, but mention it to them. They understand that not everyone is a good candidate for laser hair removal. Better to be safe than sorry. So far I've had three treatments and I coudn't be happier. I had noticable results even after my first visit! They do a great job explaining the process, what to expect, and ensuring your comfort along the way. Mia at the front desk is just incredibly pleasant to deal with and always has a smile on her face. My esthetician/technician is Laura and she is just the best! She's always friendly and makes conversation throughout the treatment. Plus every visit ends with a hug! Such wonderful people. The intro massage (1 hour long) is $40 but is $30 on Groupon. I got my massage with Sean Fox & found it to be extremely relaxing. Appointments are necessary. His schedule was pretty packed so I had to book out pretty far. You tell the masseuse the areas you want targeted. For me it was my back (particularly the upper back) because I have some knots and tension there from long hours of sitting hunched over by a computer. The room is cozy warm and the bed and blanket are super comfortable. The bed is warmed and has a knee pillow for extra comfort. The masseuse used warmed massage oil that smells pretty nice. I dozed half into sleep several times. There's relaxing music during your massage and the lights are dimmed. This massage was much better than the one you get inside Pacific Ocean Market for around $25. read more

I was very happy with results. My main problems was sun damaged and dark spots. My life got busy so I couldn't go back to Hellenic laser spa 2years, today I decided to walk in. I didn't even have an appointment but George recognized me and made some room for me. Also receptionist was very friendly and knowledgeable. I don't know why people complained about their customer services. I kind of feel like their competitors hired people to write bad reviewbecause they have a high quality service and low prices. Some of people complained about 5-10mins of short treatments but it doesn't matter to me. The most important matter is that your skin got good result or not. Today I was very interested in Fraxis RF micro needling service. $450/1time 3for $1200. But George recommend me regular micro needling for $240/3times. I initially came in to Hellenic Laser Spa for a microdermabrasion facial treatment 7 years ago for my very first facial/skin treatment ever! The staff was wonderful, friendly, there was no pressure at all to do anything more. George, the owner, is a matter-of-fact guy who is quick to explain things. I believe people take that as he's a pushy salesman. He's not. Take it or leave it, it's ok with him, he's just telling you what will work the very best, and most of the time, the stronger the treatment, the better the results. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with Hellenic laser spa. I got there late for my appointment AFTER calling and telling them I would be late and them telling me it would be totally fine and they told me I would have to reschedule when I got there because I would only get 10 minutes with the technician. Okay, that's fine so I rebooked easy peasy however, my appointment came around and the treatment only lasted 12 minutes....what the heck! And Michelle the technician told me that normal microdermabrasion is three passes over the skin but since I bought the groupon I only got one pass and she said the Jessner peel isn't even effective unless you buy three so basically the treatment and driving 30 minutes twice was all for nothing. I basically got 1/3 of a proper microdermabrasion and peel they just forget to mention that in the groupon. read more

Before I get to my real review, I think it's insane that there's 20-something 5 star reviews for Hellenic on the day the Groupon came out. I have a favorable opinion of this place, but it worries me that it seems like they're apparently so desperate that they have to flood Yelp with positive reviews of themselves. That being said... I first started going to Hellenic in the Wash Park location when their last deal came out (Groupon, I think. Maybe Living Social?) for hair removal. I've been happy with the results. Everyone has been professional, the space is always clean, and my appointments have never been more than 5 or 10 minutes behind schedule. I'm seeing results from the laser hair removal as well! Diana, the technician, is very good at what she does. I recently started a round of photofacials at the Lowry location. They were totally upfront about possible side effects, pain and recover time, and made me feel very comfortable about the procedure. The results have been fabulous as well! I've only had one (I'll get 4 total) but 10 days later, I can already see a slight difference in my brown spots. I also find myself putting on less makeup and being all around happier with my skin. Hooray! My only complaint is the upsell. I get that this is business for them, but I feel like I'm consistently being told that I need a new product or could benefit from a new treatment. I'm a fairly low maintenance girl and had never considered Botox until it was brought up more than once how much I need it. I haven't done it, and they do take no for an answer. I guess I just see a medispa as a place that should always leave me feeling good about how I look, not looking in the mirror feeling like I look old or "need" to be shot up with stuff. The staff is very friendly and the spa is clean but DO NOT go here for laser hair removal! I went there for both Brazilian and under arms and I still have all of my hair. I was also burned by their laser!! I have fair skin and dark course hair-the perfect candidate for hair removal. I have gotten it done on my bikini line with another spa and it worked after 5 treatments. They use IPL lasers at Hellenic and not the lasers needed to kill the follicles! Let me begin by saying I love this place, the staff and Laura. It has been the best experience for me. I received three IPL photo facials. Laura explained the entire process to me calming any nerves and questions. During the procedure she was so sweet and told me every step. The results were INCREDIBLE. I had a lot of freckles and red skin, and the freckles just "fell" off. It helps redness/rosacea as well. I also am going to them for laser hair removal and it's the best money spent. The pricing here is unbelievably cheap and while the treatments certainly sting, I'm always excited to go into the clinic because Mia, the receptionist has great energy, and is always super friendly and Julia, my clinician knows her shit and makes good jokes as a laser penetrates your bikini area. I was so impressed with my skin treatment and the customer service at this spa once I made it in. However, the communication and cancellation policy is not customer friendly AT ALL! As I would have loved to be apart of their family as a customer, 5-10 minutes late makes you forfeit a treatment OR you can pay full price for another one. Did I mention, I called RIGHT before the appointment time upon realizing I was not going to be on time. Very rude and dismissive. Asked to speak to a manager and was told "I am the manager". When you needed me to reschedule my appointment and be flexible, I was. I am extremely disappointed and hate that I purchased a Groupon to not get full treatment or use of my purchase. Out of three treatments, I received 2. I Was told now I have to buy a full priced treatment or FULL PACKAGE to be seen again. I had fractional CO2 one week ago. The staff is the nicest you can imagine. Diana called me on her day off to see how I was doing. Very professional, very kind and supportive staff. Horrible sales practices worse customer service READ THIS, SERIOUSLY! Dont use this location regardless of price My wife and i bought 2 groupons as a holiday gift. She got three microdermabrasions and i got one to spend some time with her. We were greeted by GEORGE, the owner. he was rude, barked orders, and talked fast to confuse the poor older lady that was ahead of us. He was loudly talking about her business and we heard far more than we should have at a "medical practicing facility" He interrupted us constantly and kept telling us we were wrong when we were trying to fill out our paperwork. He then told me that i could not possibly be a certain skin type and that i should choose another despite having no idea of my tanning or burning background. When i called i said i would like to set an appointment for my wife and me. He then gossiped with the Manager, Heather, writing on a sticky note with an arrow pointing to me saying "gay but married wtf". the only reason i saw it is i was allowed to use the computer behind the desk because they couldn't find my groupon number. I noticed the sticky note there and heather tried to cover it up with a clipboard. I moved the clipboard in order to try and let her know i had seen it and she replaced the clipboard so as to conceal it again. Furious i sat down in disbelief. Leanna lead us to the back for the procedure, We told her what had happened and she couldn't believe it. She mentioned she would mediate a conversation between me and heather. While talking Heather blatantly lied about the note being there. then accidently admitted its existence by saying that note wasn't for me but for someone else and she couldn't divulge information because it was backed by HEPA.... The note was far too obviously directed toward me with arrow pointing to where i sat, specific information that i gave them about my visit, and blatant lying that i left . I was not offered my money back. I was not offered anything for my troubles. I was not apologized to. I was mistreated then told to leave, and threatened to have the police called on me. I was not being violent, aggressive or threatening. I checked my groupon later and saw that it was listed as used. Only they have the authority to authorize that and they did it after they told me to leave. I have a video recording of the entire situation on my phone and would happily show anyone who is curious of the validity of the rating. read more

I've had a lot of laser hair removal: been to at least 5 different spas in two states to treat bikini line, underarms, and legs. I used a groupon for some finishing up treatments after I moved to Colorado, and it was definitely the WORST place I've been. The only place I've been where I would say the pain was unbearable, and I left with welts. Not professional. Felt like someone putting a burning ember to your skin -- and then wondering why you jumped off the table. Not to mention, their policy of pushing some "on sale" product or service at every visit is really, really annoying. They try prey on your insecurities to convince you you need additional cosmetic treatment. Had one woman ask if I liked my freckles... to try to sell me some cream to diminish themt. I DO like my freckles, actually. It's my boyfriend's nickname for me. But I shouldn't have to defend my natural appearance and the things that make me unique to a beauty salon. I am now almost finished with the 12 treatments and love it! At around 6 treatments I decided to purchase other areas. I waited for a deal to come across and purchased. I can tell you these treatments hurt but Laura, the technician, is fantastic about iceing the area or lowering the intensity if it becomes too much. It is less painfull than waxing but stings like a bee. There are suggestions made by the staff about up-sells. If you don't want them don't get them. George, Heather, nor Laura have ever "pressured" me into any thing. All three people have been upfront about treatments, after care, and results. They are a business and love return customers. Terrible. I have vision problems after the fractional CO2 laser with George. For part of the procedure he did not have any lead on my eyes and for the end part he used a wooden stick, like you would use for a ice pop. He was too aggressive and damaged the fat pads under the skin, leaving my skin droopy and scarred. My skin has aged 10 years. I am so depressed. I am currently working with a real dermatologist trying to repair the damage he did. I realise now that George is not a Doctor. He is a business man who saw a business opportunity in a laser spa and took a class. Please go to a real Doctor. read more

I will start by saying the staff is always friendly and the place is clean, so I am sorry for them to share this. And I have not tried all their services, so there may be some services that are ok. For faces and skin, I would be VERY concerned about getting anything done here. I had a treatment done on my arms to get rid of dark spots and freckles. My arms were burned and blistered by the tech. For about 10 weeks after the service, I had weird stripes on my arms so I couldn't wear anything other than long sleeves. I went back twice for them to fix it. George tried to fix it both times and while it helped a little bit, what ultimately fixed it was time and getting in the sun to even out the coloring. I appreciate he made an effort to fix it, but still am upset at the waste of money. I paid $900 for nothing. And I am left with some mild scarring I am hoping will go away eventually from the original treatment. I am probably being far to reasonable about this because I think other folks would have had a much stronger reaction. I am just happy I didn't let them touch the skin on my face. read more
