Between my 3 kids I've used many character companies in the past and have had many experiences where they showed up late. Since this was my main entertainment for 23 kindergarten boys I was a little paranoid if they'd show up on time...or at all. I had arranged it all with Dan first on phone and then text. It was definitely a handshake deal vs an actual contract, which made me nervous. However, Dan delivered like he did for all other Yelp reviews...and Darth, Kylo and their very enthusiastic leader were early and ready to go right at party time. They did a fabulous job of captivating the kids for an entire hour of jedi training, dancing and other games. There were a few kids that were scared, but I also had a bounce house that kept those kids busy.The bounce house probably took some attention away from the characters, but if anyone is able to compete with a bounce house it's these guys. The bday boy and his friends had such a great time and so many parents at the party asked me where I found them since they were such a hit. My son was pretty sure it was just people dressed up before the party, but after the bash he assured me that Kylo and Darth are the real deal. :)

Our team from Luxe Décors and Events, LLC, was greeted by George, the director and information specialist on everything you hoped for, wanted and envisioned to happen, at The Cotillion Banquets in Palatine, IL. George is beyond warm, pleasant, professional, knowledgeable, charming, gracious, efficient, and oh so very skilled at listening to what you would like to accomplish for the event, that you have been hired to do. We hit it off with George IMMEDIATELY upon meeting him. He took us on a guided tour of The Cotillion Banquets, explaining to us in measured detail, what was at our disposal, to ensure that we would be able to do everything that we had planned, and be able to provide our clients - the wedding of their dreams, with regards to their décor and wedding theme. The staff at The Cotillion, under George's dedicated, experienced and genuine love and pride for what he has been doing for so many, many years - also reflects the outstanding service provided by everyone at The Cotillion Banquets. The kitchen staff, is beyond kind, truly professional and obviously loves what they do. The table settings were impeccable. The food - all freshly prepared by The Cotillion staff - is simply AMAZING !!! When we first arrived to meet with George and get to see what The Cotillion had to offer - we had already been informed about the superb level of service and the first class menu selections. The Cotillion DID NOT DISAPPOINT. We were also introduced to the owners of The Cotillion, who were also so genuinely kind and considerate, obviously wanting to also ensure, that we knew they were available, should we have any additional concerns. The Cotillion Banquets in Palatine will forever be Number One on our recommendation list for any and all events, which we are privileged to manage. We cannot say enough about ALL that George did to make this wedding event so beautiful, memorable, classy and successful. No matter how skilled, talented, or experienced an Event Planner is - without directors such as George at the venue site - who can offer their kindness, experience and support - an event will not be as successful and seamless as you may have envisioned. We most recently hired Stacey for our daughter's bat mitzvah. From the very first meeting, she was creative, resourceful, and on top of all aspects of the party. Nothing was halfway. Even when I, long since tired of the planning process, declared something "good enough," Stacey came up with something better, a wow-factor that didn't stretch the budget. On the evening of the event, I didn't do a thing. Stacey never stopped moving, never missed a thing, and when it did occur to me to check on things, Stacey beat me to it by showing up with an update. What sets Stacey apart from the myriad event planners on the north shore is her range, adaptability and accessibility. She can do a lovely, refined bridal shower at the country club just as meticulously as a loud, techno party in a loft space. She never makes you feel like you need to spend more or do more than you'd planned. She doesn't push ideas. Stacey's so very fun and easy to work with, such an authentic person, it feels like planning a party with your best girlfriend, the one who knows all the best places and picks out the best centerpieces and has an amazing little source for favors that no one else has used - and is just as excited as you are about making it a great event.

My sister (and MOH) is a day-of coordinator herself, as is a close friend from college, and both of them strongly suggested I do it - they made the point that most venue coordinators only really care about their operations and place of business, and their main focus is not your details. I am SO GLAD I took their advice, and so glad I came across Abryanna. At the point I hired her, she had done just a few weddings, but from her professionalism and sunny demeanor, it was obvious she was meant for this. She provided great insight and advice throughout the process, and I appreciate her work for my new husband and I. Her biggest value truly came the wedding day, though. She kept everything running smoothly, finalized venue setup while we were all in hair/makeup, and headed up the team effort to put out a rather large fire just before the ceremony, and kept the flames at bay during the reception. That last part was invaluable to me, as it was a worry throughout the planning year that came true, even though no one believed me it would. I had expressed this concern to Abryanna, and she was prepared. I HIGHLY recommend her services as a coordinator, and if you aren't organized and "with -it," she offers full planning as well!
