We have been taking our 4 boys to COG for more than 10 years and love everything about the place. The most important fact for us is that the boys love to go to the classes and become sad if we have to miss a class. We have no problem recommending Charter Oak. read more

Hi. As a parent of a Charter Oak Gymnastics for over twenty years, I have seen the progress of not only my daughter but many children that have participated in the programs become self confident and support their team mates. The coaches are professional and encouraging and go beyond the norm. It's been such an incredible experience that my daughter has returned to Charter Oaks as a coach. read more

We have been coming here for years, and my kids love the classes. The coaches are great and very understanding. We love the atmosphere and have told all our friends to come here. read more

My daughter is a competitive gymnast here and is the happiest I have seen in her four years of gymnastics. She was a late start gymnast at 9 years of age, and CO is her third gym. Long story short, we left the two previous gyms due to verbal abuse and gymnast shaming. My daughter was ready to quit gymnastics. CO has high standards for the girls, but neither of us have been witness to anything described in previous posts. In fact, at the end of her tryout, my daughter said, "It was weird to not hear the coaches screaming their heads off at the gymnasts"- and mind you, she tried out two weeks before a competition. Coaches Stephen and Sara embrace the individual potential of each gymnast, and my daughter achieved new skills within a week that she struggled with at her previous gym for a year! Other gyms split training girls at the same level based on age (which parents have described to me as dividing girls with higher potential vs lower potential), but they don't do that at CO. All the girls are "high potential" irrespective of their age. You will consistently see the CO Gliders at the top of the podium at competitions, and their long-standing record for college scholarships speaks for itself. The girls are all super sweet as well, and my daughter met all of the gymnasts (levels 6-10) by the first week. We highly recommend CO for gymnastics! I only wish we found them sooner! read more

My daughter has been going here for a few years now and hot diggity I feel like I'm watching the next top gymnast. The coaches are old school tough but still very welcoming to the kids. They have a great Saturday open gym to break from the weekday practice. I couldn't be happier. As an ex athlete I've seen good and bad coaches and they have some great ones here. I'm about to do a back tuck right now..........done. read more

My daughter has been going here for a bit over a month now and I've got to say its grown on me. My first visit I was a little apprehensive because I felt they expected a little too much of her when she had never done gymnastic type stuff before. BUT, she loves it and the staff (from who I've come into contact with) is friendly and helpful. I definitely appreciate the fact that you're offered 2 make up classes per session as we are not able to make it every week. As a parent who would like to wrap her kid in bubble wrap I wish there was padding on the walls instead of brick, but all in all its a pretty safe environment. Its challenging, yet doable. Money well spent in my opinion. read more

A wonderful gym with knowledgable instructors...just wish they had Wi-fi for us parents as we sit on these leg numbing stools. :)

Coaches are great!!! Location and class schedules are convenient. Both of my daughters enjoy going there. They learn great gymnastic skills as well as the correct mind sets for being good athletes. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating it's because the booster club is demanding more and more from parents. I just hope that they'll give us a break sometimes. read more

My daughter goes to this gym and I've seen improvement in just her first session. She enjoys coming which is the most important. Tried a winter camp but after first week kids didn't want to come back read more

This is an A+ facility with training/coaching you won't find anywhere else. Everyone at Charter Oak Gymnastics is very friendly and i get a warm welcome every time i walk in. My girls have excelled beyond belief in many areas due to the commitment these coaches give. I am so blessed to be a part of this gym. Keep up the good work COG!!!! read more

I have been taking my daughters to COG for just over 2 years now. We started when they were about 18 months old and have had a variety of different coaches in the "Little Gym" so this review is not written based on one single coach. We have been in classes taught by Coach Shauna, Malory, Jesse, Brittany and Bree. We started in the Monkeys class and are currently in the Tigers. I personally have had nothing but good experiences with COG. The coaches have all been very sweet to my daughters but have also pushed them to progress in gymnastics. My one daughter likes to pretend like she can't do things but Coach Jesse has had her in her classes for over a year and she does not let her get away with that. I really appreciate that because so many adults do let her get away with her nonsense because as they will say "but she's so cute." As a mom that doesn't fly. So I really like that Jesse keeps her on point in a very age appropriate and loving way. As for the office, I do agree with other reviewers that the make-up policy is a bit ridiculous. If you know you are going to miss why not let us schedule in advance? And if make-ups can only be done on Fridays don't have full classes on Friday! I think that this sort of policy is not made by the girls that work the front desk but is a decision made by the owner, therefore they are just towing the party line. So I really can't be too mad at the messenger. The only negative thing that I really can say about COG is that I personally think the whole testing of kids 18 mos to 4 years old is a little ridiculous. I shouldn't be able to see test anxiety in 3 year olds. That said, I know that kind of rigor is why some parents send their kids here. Whether my kids are monkeys, tigers or lions really isn't that important, although I can tell it is very important to some parents. But now my girls know what they need to do to get to the "Big Gym" where they can be with the big kids (and Coach Brittany)!! We (Claire, Chloe & Mom) love Coach Jesse and Brittany :) read more

I love it here!! Staff is super friendly, the facilities are clean and the coaches seem experienced. Great place for kids (:

I took both of my daughters ages 4 & 6 for a free trial class and they loved it we signed up that same day. It is a bit pricey but compared to other gymnastics places this is a great price. Coach Victoria is awesome and she's very patient with the new girls. read more

The summer program is a joke. It's more like a daycare service. The front office staff are rude and not friendly at all. I've had a couple of my children there for summer/year round gym sessions and keep thinking that it'll get better but it hasn't over the years. read more

We took my little sister and she did great. We really liked the male coach Raleigh, he seemed to be very patient, knowledgable and professional. Which we as a family appreciated. My sister was on her way to move up to a more advanced group of children. We were ready to commit and keep her there to move up, until we witnessed a blond female coach (I think she married the owner) being extremely unprofessional and down rite being an adolescent. We couldn't believe what we just witnessed. My parents and I decided at that very moment to not let her continue at an establishment that would hire such a person. We felt badly for the girls she was coaching and the parents who were witnessing their daughters being belittled by this rude coach. I do wish Charter Oak success, as I hear of their past success stories. But they really need to rethink who they let coach, if they do keep her on she needs to take a class on child development and leadership skills. As for my sister, she's doing great at another gym and she has been invited to their competitive team. read more

Our daughter is 5 and has been at COG for 2 years (Jungle Gym and Big Gym). The coaches are awesome. They are professional and patient with all the kids. She has worked with Shaina, Victoria, Sierra, Nick, Jesi, Ari, Stuart and Jeff, and they are all just amazing. Each coach is different in their own way, which makes it possible for kids to learn how to work directly with different personalities in a safe environment, and I really appreciate that. It can be a bit overwhelming coming into a huge gym with so much going on, but the coaches really are welcoming and will get your child situated, and the older girls will help out the little ones. Front office staff is a bit scattered, but I stay patient and positive with them and everything works out fine. Thank you, Charter Oak coaches, for all you do... read more

both of my daughters have taken classes here. very good gym and excellent instruction.

PARKOUR!! PARKOUR!! PARKOUR!! We love Charter Oak Gymnastics. My son did the Urban Acrobatics course, and absolutely can't get enough. The front office was nothing but friendly and helpful the whole time. And the coaches were top notch! read more

My child has been enrolled in classes for almost a full session now, she's absolutely loves It. The coaches are amazing with her & and all the other students in her class. They also have Saturday open gym workout (which is 7$ for students that are not enrolled i think don't quote me) but free for my daughter because she is enrolled into classes! It's such a great opportunity for her to work on skills that she needs & just have fun! As far as the office goes, when i first saw all the bad yelp reviews i was very hesitant on enrolling my daughter. But when i went in the office staff was super friendly & greeted me right as i walked in the door. The young woman at the front desk answered all the questions i had and was actually really helpful. (& the enrollment process was very quick.) I would hope that all yelp users would disregard all the negative comments because obviously from my experience here, they are false. read more

My 3 daughters love Charter Oaks. One of their favorite coaches is Jeff Jamies. Coach Jeff is an amazing coach and roll model. The whole staff at Charter Oaks is very friendly and helpful. If you want your children to have fun and learn a sport there is no better place for them to be then Charter Oaks Gymnastics. One of my daughters takes Urban Acro so there is something for boys and girls who do not want to do gymnastics. read more

I personally have had a wonderful experience with COG. The office staff is not rude they are very helpful the coaches are great and i love them all. But coach Jeff Jamies is my favorite he is just always happy and that makes me happy read more

My granddaughter has been going since Feb. she truly enjoys it, and her coach Jessie is very good with the little kids. In reading the reviews and talking to parents, it seem like many people are very unhappy with the front office being rude and unfriendly. Upper management really should take note of this as it seems to be an on-going concern which could eventually hurt business. I have already heard of some families going elsewhere. Please owners, do something about this. read more

I had two children that went to this gym. Incredible coaching and wonderful programs. Both my children ended up as high level gymnasts as a result of this and received a full ride scholarship to college. The owners are extremely knowledgable in the sport and have kept themselves at this level continuously. read more

This is an awesome Gymnastics Facility. We have been to several around the area over the years, and nothing compares to this place. You can't beat the prices either! I've been to places near Pasadena area and I could not believe what they were trying to charge. Coaches are well trained, professional and fun with the kids and front office staff is incredibly friendly and always helpful. I am glad we made the switch a few years back. I am new to Yelp and I was a little confused when I saw what Charter Oaks rating was... then I noticed all these great reviews are under the reviews "not recommend". I think that is terrible for a great business. read more

I signed my daughter up at the beginning of summer , she was placed in the monkey's class which is for 18 months to 3 years old . My daughter is 3 1/2 , I didn't want her to be in the monkey's class cause of the age group ( she is better around older kids ) but they told me cause this is her first time she had to be in the monkey's class and for the second summer session she could move up . So I was fine with that until her classes started , she had two 18 month old boys and then my 3 1/2 daughter In her class . The two 18 month old boys required a lot of attention and only distract my daughter , I felt like she was regressing. Brittany was her coach she was great and did the best she could do but unfortunately she was really distracted by the two 18 month old boys and she couldn't correct my daughter or teach her as much. The monkey's class requires parent partication so when the other parents where yelling at there kids that's would also distract my daughter. Who ever set up the kids program at cog clearly didn't have kids cause there is a huge difference between 18 month old kids then 3 year old kids . I wanted my daughter in the tigers program which is for 3-4 year old kids , that's would have been better for her since she is almost 4 years old. At the end of the session I was going to sign her up for the tigers class until cog went back on what they originally said and said my daughter needs to do the monkeys class again . I was not going to sign her up again if she couldn't be around kids her own age. Also when Brittany went on vacation and there was a different coach teaching the class that was who was going to evaluate my daughter . I had a huge problem with that cause that coach was quiet and reserved . She also would move my child's arm or legs to where they needed to be before communication to her . She was awful at communicating and would only give you a confused awkward stare , she is not someone to be teaching kids . Cog policies and front office staff are awful , the make up policy is ridulous . My daughter just lost her grandpa on June. 17 th so we had to miss one class to be with family . When I called to schedule a make up class the next day they had no room , I even stressed to them my daughter just lost her grandpa who she was extremely close with and is having a hard time coping with it so this would really help her and maybe cheer her up. They could not accommodate us , that is so awful and heartless . I recommend if you sign up at cog not to miss any days and if you have to just know it's impossible to make them up . I think cog has the potential of being a great place but they need to change there policies to meet the customer needs and rethink some of there front office staff and coaches . Cog needs to have better customer service since it is a business that mostly caters to kids. I took my daughter to Baldy view gymnastics in upland , its looks aren't appealing but there front office is fantastic , there coaches are amazing . My daughter has class full of kids in the same age group . I am amazed the coaches are so good with kids and they teach them challenging things in a fun way . read more
