When I asked him, "How painful is this procedure going to be...?", he looked at me in all seriousness and replied, "I don't believe in pain." Funny but true. Dr. Herman runs a very professional office. Paula is amazing and explains everything to you while she's working on you. She can change your smile, this is no exaggeration. I work for Dr. Zawadzky at Life Dental Care in Deerfield Beach, and he recommended that I look into improving a few small shifts in my teeth. I decided to finally take his advice and see what my options were. When I walked in, I immediately noticed how beautiful and spacious the office was--and the SHARK on the wall made me laugh! What a fun touch! I was warmly welcomed by Ms. Manuela, who was friendly and helpful from the start. After my X-rays and measurements, I met Dr. Lauren Gerkowicz, DMD. She took the time to explain my options, including the pros and cons of clear aligners, and was very honest about the treatment process and timeline. I truly appreciated her professionalism and honesty. A special thank-you to Ms. Nancy, Ms. Manuela, Ms. Jessica and Dr. Gerkowicz for making me feel so comfortable. I paid extra to be put out in twilight . Someone prior to him apparently missed that I had a cavity and the tooth could not be saved . This was the 1st time ever I had to have a tooth extracted other than the wisdom teeth and was more than happy with the results . I did not want any issues later in life but he said it barely moves and could possibly take many years 10 or more even that to have an issue . He did not recommend extraction unless I am feeling uncomfortable. I guess I'll check back next year but I do have insurance now and wanted to take a precaution . He is wonderful and said he would do it if that's what I wanted but would wait He works out of Kawa Orthodontics office which has a welcoming and soothing waiting area of the ocean and sea throughout the whole place. I believe this relaxes the patients especially kids who need to have braces etc. I would not go to any other oral surgeon . The only other great one was Dr Russo who did my wisdom but believe he is retired .

Recently, I developed an infection on my upper gums, which was very concerning, as it wasn't going away and my gums were swollen and red. Therefore, I called Dr. Hawk's office and made an appointment with Felisha, who does a super job at the front desk. She made an appointment with Nichole. She said Nichole is the best Dental Hygienist and will take care of you. How right she was, as Nichole did a deep cleaning, injected antibiotics, and put me on a program to eliminate the problem.Gum disease is no laughing matter, but after three weeks my gums are much better and swelling and redness are getting much better. I went to another dentist to document the horrible extremely painful blisters I received after a routine visit with Dr.Hawk. They were not diagnosed as canker sores of any type. Dr. Hawk acted like nothing was wrong and never apologized for his carelessness. Dr. Hawk is a danger to the community and should be avoided and I feel it's my duty to protect others from what he did to me.
