(https://www.linkedin.com/in/salah-sherif-73a1029a/overlay/about-this-profile/) NOTE: No exaggeration of circumstances, this is exactly what happened: I was ambulanced in from a high speed motorcycle crash from Thunderhill race way (90mph+). I had a golf ball sized bump on my left temple, shoulder was jacked up and sticking out, and I was in a very bad state from the hit to my head (Cracked my helmet). The ambulance staff and nurses were great. As they were wheeling me into a room, I saw a guy sitting in what appeared to be a closet watching Youtube videos on his phone. Not trying to be funny but I thought it was the janitor. The nurse, (Can't remember her name but her husband was also a veteran), got me set up, spoke with me, and just was there to sit with me and make me feel comfortable. Thank you! A "Doctor" came in, and to my surprise, it was the guy sitting in the closet watching Youtube. He came out, asked me some questions which I could not understand as his English is terrible. Took a quick look at my shoulder and left. Said nothing about the golf ball sized bump on my head. From my vantage point, he went back to his closet and began watching Youtube again, I could hear it. I was in disbelief but OK, we are waiting for the Xray. He comes out again after the Xray and said I have a Shoulder Sprain without going into any details. I saw that my IV was out of my arm and told him to put it back in so I have the pain medication. I had to ask him 3 times to do this and even showed him. He left the room again and the kind nurse did this. Where do you think he went...back to the closet to watch Youtube. The nurse sat with me until my ride came and we just talked which really helped take my mind off of the pain and shock. I would think a Dr. would show more interest in a patient that just came in from a horrific crash and at least be concerned with a concussion that was visible from my forehead. Maybe ordered a CT scan at a minimum. I then started thinking maybe this guy forged his Medical training when he came over from his country. I just could not believe this is a doctor. If you get seriously hurt in Willows, California (ThunderHill Crazies...), I hope you have another choice at this facility. Salah Sherif, MD could get you killed by not going through proper procedures and showing a little more concern than wanting to get back to watching his Youtube. Must have been a good show? read more

My 98 yr old Mom was transferred from an hour away for Rehab here. It's a REAL hospital with lab, X-ray and a hospitalist on site. Such an upgrade from SNF Rehab. Great staff providing solid care hard working with super kindness. I'm a nurse and I can attest that they are on the ball and competent. Don't let the distance, size of the place or decor (converted elementary school) fool you. This place is a gem!! read more

I came in here complaining of leg pain and discomfort and they treated me as if I was a drug addict looking for their next fix. Not sure if they treat everyone that comes here like this but the "bedside manner" was not there nor was any sort of politeness or kindness (kinda what you'd expect from a hospital).. overall bad experience and hope they improve or close permanently. These people assume you're looking for pain pills. Basically called my OB/GYN stupid for allowing me to take medication for my terrible headaches. I was told to tough it out because I'm pregnant and they don't wanna help or even do an exam to figure out why I get headaches. Overall terrible place to go for medical care. I have recently had experience with most aspects of Glenn Medical Center. The lobby, clinic, lab, hospital and ER. I wish I could give them 10 stars. Without exception, every single person we met and who cared for my husband was efficient and knowledgeable, yet warm and caring. They attended to my husband through some difficult times with so much genuine concern and professionalism. I am grateful to be in Willows with a very fine medical facility available. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says if you receive a bill for your Covid vaccine, do not pay it. I have submitted my Medicare number already, two times. I went in to the clinic in an emergency on an extremely bad day. Being injured and disoriented, Fred and all of the other staff were so welcoming and engaging that it cured my unease and left me with the impression of a fun big family. Fred in particular went out of his way to hear me out on a sensitive personal issue. Not only did he hear me out, but he was right there with me in coming up a solution to help me. This guy is a riot! And the clinic is just as recommend. Must recommend. Don't settle for being just another number among millions in a large buraecratic hospital organization. You can come to this clinic and be treated like a friend. read more

There has been no improvement in this hospital. I came to its E/R in May 2019 after months of a persistent green production cough. The male nurses joked about my age and looks and over and over about how I might like a rectal thermometer. Moreover, the doctor pulled up on a motorcycle and pushed right past me as I was entering and never bothered to take his motorcycle jacket off while examining patients--nor put a lab coat on. He would not xray me nor give me antibiotics. Because this is a rural hospital, Medicare rules allows it to charge the patient 50% directly. I received antibitoics in the past few weeks (July 2019) for a leg infection at a real hospital, and the cough finally incidentally went away. All those months I suffered, sleep deprivation and all else, after paying hundreds out of pocket because of the offensive gross negligence of this hospital. read more

I spent over than a month at Glenn General's rehab section in 2020. I would not recommend it to anyone. The head of physical therapy at that time was both abusive and dismissive. My best day was when I departed. This is a private hospital...profit is the only bottom line...not health care. read more

The Mennonite candy striper volunteers take good care of you. They don't seem to be quite the Luddites that they look like despite their similarities with the better known Amish. They didn't blink or blush when I walked in without my shirt and a broken clavicle. That was cool because the psycho ex was with me and she might have shanked one of them if they smiled at me wrong. Even tho we *were* at a hospital, that wouldn't be cool. If you're gonna crash on a race track in the middle of nowhere, off of I-5 in the 530, you really have no choice but to come here. That is unless you're critical and need a life-flight, then you're going to Chico. (No, not to party silly!) Then you've got bigger things to worry about. Like if you renewed your helicopter insurance, totaled your motorcycle, or have clean underwear on. The doctors even sent me home(Golden Pheasant Motel) with a bottle of vic. They must have known of the whining and bitching I was going to hear later that night. Thankfully beer+vicodin= sleep. Bad for your liver....but you haven't met she-who-shall-remain-nameless. The staff there are GREAT people in every sense of the word!!!! Scheduling needs a great dealer f improvement. I went in there at 12:30 to check in for my doctors appointment at one. There were at least six people waiting to be checked in. There was ONE clerk. That is RIDICULOUS. The poor girl was working 110 %. The heating and cooling is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure it's the same one that was installed in 1950. They put in new floors and paintings, but they can't put in a decent climate control system. The staff that work there are absolutely AMAZING!!! The people that have the responsibility of the purse strings need to get real and do the RIGHT things. I physically could not EVER stay in that hospital because of the EXTREMELY substandard cooling and heating systems. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

It's too bad I have to even give a 1 star...... my mom got very sick her doctor told us we needed to rush her to Glenn Medical, they even called ahead to make sure she was taken in as soon as we arrived Right..!!! NOT... we got there in less than 5 minutes...NO ONE WAS IN THE ER waiting room, nurses & doctor were sitting around. The triage nurse told us everyone was busy & there was a wait...REALLY...NOT TRUE. As I stated they were not busy, no cars in ER parking lot, no one was sitting there waiting on patients.... my mom told us to take her to Enloe....we called her doctor to let him know how this disgusting shithole of a "hospital" REFUSED to care for her & were taking her to Enloe. He was stunned...once we arrived at Enloe the triage nursed assessed her, put her in a,room, a doctor came down to see her all within 10 minutes of our arrival....She was admitted right away... turns out her fever was quite concerning and she was hospitalized for 10 days. The Nursing staff was wonderful, the Doctors were great...everyone we came in contact with and saw were excellent...in our estimation we felt we were discriminated against because as I stated NO ONE WAS IN THE GLENN MEDICAL CTR ER AT THE TIME. People I have spoken too all say the same...don't take a loved one there, take the extra time to ENLOE FOR QUALITY CARE....we live in Willows & trust when I say even the residents of Willows do not have anything nice to say about Glenn Medical emergency or not, we will never again step foot in that place.. read more

Terrible! The ER is ridiculous. The doctor didn't even come in and introduce himself or ask my wife what the problem was. The nurse was nice and so was the person who did the intakes but the technician named Mark talked to my wife and didn't even introduce himself either. They just asked my wife questions and left without saying anything. They had her do an intake sheet they didn't even pick that up. I'd rather drive go Enloe. Never had a problem there. On the other hand the specialists are great! The ER needs a lot of work! Listen to your patients! read more

My friend got a huge rock thrown at her head and cut her head very badly! My friend and I rushed her to the closest ER which was this place! We already at her insurance ready and it took 25 minutes to fill out 10 lines on one piece of paper and it took her 15 minutes to get call back meanwhile she is bleeding a ton out of her head. She was in the back for about an hour and got 5 stables, what in the world were they doing for an hour. It wasn't even busy in there. This place is really sketchy and super slow. read more

As residents of Stonyford (Colusa County) we were forced to drive to Glenn Medical Center's ER for severe wound care because there are NO medical services in Colusa on weekends. Earlier during the week we were able to obtain appointments in Colusa at the Family Health Center, however the severely abscessed wound needed treatment, irrigation, and a daily dressing change and the only medical center we could find to service us on the weekend was Glenn Medical. Not knowing what to expect we drove over 50 miles (one way) to visit the ER. Glenn Medical has a very small and modest ER so we weren't expecting much. However, I have to say the service we received was top notch. The staff we attentive, caring, through, and extremely professional. Their care of us would rival most all of the "big city" ERs. Dr. Everett Shareck, Nurse Rob Kinyon, and the intake assistant, Nan O'Reilly deserve major compliments. Dr. Shareck noticed a condition that had thus far gone unnoticed by several other physicians and ordered an MRI & CT scan to check for bone infections and neck & chest fractures. Nurse Rob was generous with his care and shared information. In short, the staff of Glenn Medical's ER working on July 29, 2017 is to be highly complimented - we "thank you" for your excellent service! read more

Let me start by saying that I had never heard good things about this hospital and even though I have lived here for 17 years, I always went to Chico if I needed medical care. The other night I was so anemic that I passed out at work and was taken there via ambulance. I was seen right away and they had my labs back within 20 minutes. They said I needed a blood transfusion and I was shocked to find out that they could do it right there. I was admitted and over a 3 day period was given 5 pints of blood. Let me talk about the staff......They were wonderful! I honestly felt that they were concerned about me and that they enjoyed working there. I will never go back to Chico for medical care unless they cant do whatever it is that i might need. This hospital has been under-rated by our community over the past years and I cant believe that we have such a top notch hospital here and I had no idea. On the down side of things I would say that there are 2 areas that need improvement. The food was not the worst that I have eaten (and it is hospital food) but it could be a whole lot better. The other thing is the business dept. needs to be more helpful and informative when it comes to assisting people with obtaining medi-cal. The woman that was supposed to help me said she called and that they would send me an application in the mail and then left the room. I am still waiting for it to arrive 6 days later. read more

I recently spent a month in the surgical-medical wing for a month due to a serious medical condition, I was awarded with care that brought to me the will to live. The loving and gracious care were awesome, I walked away from that hospital with a couple of enduring friendships. The doctors were caring , very professional, and answered my questions quickly and in a way I understood. If they didn't know the immediate answer the nurses and doctors alike found me the answers. The whole experience was a very good one for me, other than not wanting to be there period, these people gave me back the hope that though my life may be different it would still be worth living. I brought my son to the ER today for a swelling foot from some kind of bug bite so not a major crisis and I expected to be there for a while since it wasn't major but nope Maria the ER Tec wears many hats from doing the check in to taking his vitals and she did this all in a matter of 15 minutes and then Nurse Shawnte Was very pleasant to speak to and asked numerous questions that would help the Doctor do his job faster and not make my son answer all those questions over . Dr. Burtmen Must of read the nurses notes because he Came in with an amazing sense of humor looked at his foot asked him his pain level asked what happened diagnosed him gave him a shot and out the door we went .. Total visit lasted 1 HR that included waiting 15 minutes to see if he had a reaction to the shot. With Colusa Hospital closing I was afraid they wouldn't be able to keep up with the traffic but I was extremely wrong and all beds were full. Thank you GLENN Medical for being here for us Colusa and other towns that have to leave their Comfort zone and trust again since in my case I've never been here it was always Colusa for me and probably others .
