But after Erick was on site just for a few minutes, I got a call from my handyman that said " this guy is a real "di*k"! I wasn't present, so I called Erick to get some clarification. There was some confusion on the time line apparently and I told him I understood that he needed to order the glass, that it would take awhile to get, and that was fine of course. But just seconds of being on the phone with him, and being interrupted and talked over, I understood what my handyman meant and asked Erick to leave my property. Erick is super controlling, domineering and doesn't listen. My employees also said he yelled at everyone on the way out!! WTH !?!?! Enough said.

Their starting quotes also seemed high. I called Capital Glass and Construction and Grant came out that same morning to measure and place the order, and his quote was lowest of all. He explained how the repair and clean up would be done. Grant came back a couple days later with replacement glass and finished the job and cleaned up in about an hour. I was impressed. Hopefully i won't need them again but they'll be my first call if I do. Good local business. Strongly recommend.

When we insisted that both a temporary brace and header were essential, his bid increased by about 50%. Grant also told us that the only window manufacturer he used could NOT make a window with the coating we desired. He refused to even call and ask them, so we did, finding they were more than happy to meet our request, at no additional cost. We were relieved to have someone else do the install. BEWARE.

The following week two other guys came out spent 10 minutes discussing how to remove the door to fix it, after calling their boss or owner of the company they stated we can't fix it, you will have to replace the whole sliding door with a new one for $3,500 dollars. I told the manager I would not be paying for a new door when it doesn't needs to be replaced. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I called Neighborhood Glass they came out fixed the door within 30 minutes for $339. They were very professional and stated you do not need a new door, we'll just lift the door out of the frame and replace it back. I will always refer Neighborhood Glass to all my friends and neighbors if they need any windows or patio doors fixed.

After reading the stellar reviews, I decided to reach out to both companies even though it was very close to 5 PM (closing hours). My first instinct was to call Blomberg since they were the original makers of this glass sliding door but Blomberg was closed so I called Dick's. Thankfully, Jay answered - he knew exactly what type of door I had and graciously got me an appointment for Wednesday afternoon which was only 2 days after the incident. All I had to do was measure the sides and he said they could replace it the same day. I couldn't believe it, I thought I'd have to live with this broken glass for much longer. He was kind enough to suggest setting a drop cloth to collect the glass incase it fell to the ground and caused a big mess so I did that the same evening.On Wednesday, Nathan (Nate) gave me a courtesy call before showing up on time and was very friendly and professional. He was ready to install the glass and realized that the border didn't match my current colors which was more of a dark brown instead of the chrome one they had in stock. I really appreciated the disclaimer because even though it was as a minor detail, it would have definitely been noticeable especially since the other side didn't match. They didn't know what color mine was because it was somewhat of an urgent request so everything was done over the phone. Nate said it would take about 1-2 weeks to get a custom order and they could come out and install it same-day. I opted to wait and he gave me the ETA as soon as got back in his van. I was worried about my glass falling and Nate offered to break it down for me and clean it up. I got to watch the whole process and it was very fascinating. Thank you for cleaning that up for me Nate!Nate called me this morning and arrived with a very nice gentleman by the name of Ivan. They arrived at 9:25 AM and were done the job by 10 AM. They cleaned all the nasty gunk and dirt that built up over the many years of the sliding door collecting and and were both so nice and fun to chat with. I can't tell you how much this stressed me out but I couldn't have asked for a faster and more professional glass replacement experience. One was bent so much that the frame cracked and he couldn't get it to fit back into the window so he used a bent paper clip to hold it into place. I was pretty shocked. There is now a huge gap in the screen and the paper clip really looks awful. He probably should have offered to replace the frame since he bent it so badly and even cracked it, but he did not. I definitely would not use this company again, my screens look pretty bad with their bent frames.
