Went to the shop, requested an estimate. Everything was great. The gentlemen who came to my home was unprofessional and had a horrible attitude. He smelled like an ashtray and was filthy. Just stopped by to get an estimate on replacing a window in my daughter's home. I've used this location for minor needs over the years. I told the man behind the counter and my daughter's house is in the Anatolia area, he immediately stopped me and said "you need to go to our Rancho location. I can't help you". I answered by saying I've used this location for years and I just need an estimate. He again told me that I need to go to the other location to get an estimate. From office contact to installers Dick's Rancho Glass in Rancho Cordova are all first rate. We had them supply and install a rather complicated stall shower surround and most recently a Milgard window install. Both times the installers went above and beyond our expectations. They may not do a lot of advertising but maybe they do not need to. A talking Golden retriever is clever, but all that advertising adds a cost that the customer pays for. We made the mistake using another supplier before we were referred to DRG but will not make that again. Go with DRG if you want a responsive, professional and highly completive experience. read more

I have used Dick's for so many glass and mirror door repairs that I don't even know where to start! Let's start with the latest project: my pet door slider and installation. The installers are so professional and practiced safe Pandemic protocols while they were inside my house. The pet door slider is amazing (see picture below) and I can't believe I waited 6 years to pull the trigger on this. Some other repairs they've helped me with: replaced etched bedroom window glass (30+ years of sprinklers hitting them by the former owner); repairing the rollers on heavy mirrored closet doors (when other companies told me they couldn't be repaired and I'd need to buy new doors); window spring replacement for my sash windows that either wouldn't open anymore or wouldn't stay raised (another window company told me they couldn't be repaired and I need to replace the entire window). I originally called another business "The glass guru" to where I went and after a lot of math and binder checking, I was told that would cost me $426.00 to replace one 3/16" 32x12 clear glass shelf and that it would have to be sent out with a 3-4 business turn around time! with that price I might as well go buy a new curio. All kinds of YES! We had a scary incident where someone threw a rock and broke our master bedroom window. Thankfully they only shattered the outer pane, leaving the inside pane intact and not affected the slider pane. After looking at Home Depot and Lowes, I saw a couple of problems with our situation. One, windows are expensive. Two, neither carried our window size in store or online. I was envisioning thousands of dollars to buy a specially sized window, having to wait for permits and spending a fortune on labor. I thought we might be able to save a little money if we bought the window ourselves without a markup, but that was not a possibility. So I turned to Yelp. Through Yelp, I typed up my measurements and asked for quotes and every company said they couldn't help and more than half recommended Dick's to me. I had already spotted Dicks in Yelp and asked for a quote. Yelp reviews plus other professionals recommended Dick's, so that was a great sign. Dick's responded within the hour on a friday morning. They could come out and give me a free quote that Monday and he also gave me a ballpark of $280. They gave me a 4 hour arrival time frame. They called me to let me know when they were on the way. The tech made quick work of measuring and gave me a quote, on the spot. $232! Wow, so reasonable! I gave him my Visa to pay the required $100 deposit. They scheduled me for two weeks out to replace my window and called me to remind me too. The same tech arrived and worked quickly, accessing the window from both inside and outside the house. Less than an hour later, my window was fixed and besides being clean, it matched the sliding pane perfectly. Most of our double pane windows had failed. We wanted to replace a sliding glass door that no longer functioned with a french door. After researching, a friend who installs windows, recommended Milgard. After finding out the replacement cost of all of the windows and door, we called Dick's for a quote. They were very helpful and accommodating. They replaced all of the glass, installed the french door and fixed the rollers on another slider. All for about 30% of what it would have cost to replace all of the windows. We are very happy. read more

In our hall bathroom there was a large 5' x 7' mirror covering the entire wall area over the sink. Called Dick's Rancho Glass and scheduled an appointment to have the mirror removed. Mike, the scheduler quoted the job, set up an apppointment time and then followed up the day before to confirm the appointment. The installer guys were right on time. Very cheerful and friendly. They pulled the mirror off safely and quickly and hauled it back to the shop for disposal. They were very professional and highly skilled glass guys. I used Dick's Rancho glass for a sliding screen door and for a handle for my sliding door. We have never had a screen door since we moved in and our handle broke a few months ago. I called Dick's to see if they did they kind of thing and they were very helpful on the phone and offered to come out and do measurements for me or they said I could measure myself and come into the store. I opted for them to come out just so I didn't mess anything up. They were able to come out a few days later. They gave me a timeframe and we're here promptly during the timeframe. Alan took measurements of the door and looked at the type of handle I needed. I was told they would be back the following week with my screen door and the new handle. I was called the day before my installation appointment to confirm the appointment and the timeframe. Alan (and another gentleman) were here on time during the timeframe. The screen door was installed quickly. Alan did forget the door handle, but was here the following day at 9am to install the door handle. Super happy with the service and quality I received from everyone I interacted with at Dick's Rancho Glass. Would recommend them to anyone I know needing any type of window screen. read more

We have used Dick's Rancho Glass for a number of years. They have always been great. In February 2023, we decided to replace several windows that were installed when the home was built in 2003 and had fogged/failed. Called Dick's and Ivan came out, measured, and provided an estimate within a few days. The windows were installed on March 16, 2023. Ivan and Nate did a great job with the installation. I had Dicks replace the glass in my seal failing and grid lined windows. They installed dual paned, energy efficient glass in my current vinyl window frames at 1/3 the price of what I was going to pay to replace the whole window. It was also 3 months sooner than getting new windows install. The head installer (Nate) went above and beyond to make sure that everything was done correctly and with care. A few of the windows came to Dicks from their manufacturer with very minor scratches on the inside of the dual panes. The scratches couldn't be seen until the window was in place with light coming through at just the right angle. Rather than just install them and hope I didn't notice, they installed what they could and placed a rush order to get replacements for the few which had very minor damaged. The replacements came fast even during the holiday season. The crew of Nate and two other installers were all very professional and kind. The work turned out great and increased the curb appeal of my home which had dated and defective windows! read more

I brought in a small 10"'x18" bathroom double-pain window that was cracked for repair. Dick's quoted $73, which seems high at the time, but I decided to pay it. I put a $40 deposit on the window at the time I dropped it off. The employee I dealt with was kinda grumpy when I brought the window in, but whatever, I don't always need to get a hello and a smile. I later checked 3 other glass/window/door shops; all of them were cheaper than Dicks, one quoting me $45; make no mistake, I was very clear about describing the work to all of the other shops to make sure the other quotes would be comparing apples to apples. There was no confusion about the other pricing. When my brother went to pick it up, he said that the person he dealt with was grumpy, and I had not mentioned to him at all the grumpiness that I experienced when I dropped the glass off. Dick's obviously does good work, judging from the other reviews, but at least for the small job that I had for Dick's, the overall value was low, and that's a big factor for me when I write a review. read more

He was professional and friendly, and answered all of my (many) questions. He went out of his way to give great customer service. Live in Gold River and needed new windows. Sam was able to come in and tell us that we could replace the glass that was 30 years old. The glass had failed, and had lots of hard water staining that could not be cleaned off. Upgraded to Solarban 60 for a bit more money. The windows took about 2 weeks and the install team came. They installed 10 slider windows, cleaned and vacuumed the slider tracks, lubed and checked the wheels, and cleaned the windows. Sam was very helpful in explaining what was going on and had insights to assist further renovations we would do. They took our screens to be redone. They do charge a $45 measurement fee, but deduct that off any glass order. I have renovated 5 houses over the years and I am impressed with the work the company did... from measuring , to the actual bid, to install and clean up. I thought there may be a scratch in one of the mirrors and brought it back. It turned out to be some slight overspray from the finish that they use.
